“If you’re broken, I’ll fix you…”

I’m only twenty-one and already damaged goods. A slut. A failure. A disappointment to my picture-perfect family as long as I can remember. I called off my wedding to William Bailey, the only man who thought I was worth fixing. A year later and he’s marrying my sister. Unless I ask him not to…

“If you shatter, I’ll find you…

But now there’s Asher Logan, a broken man who sees the fractures in my façade and doesn’t want to fix me at all. Asher wants me to stop hiding, to stop pretending. Asher wants to break down my walls. But that means letting him see my ugly secrets and forgiving him for his.

With my past weighing down on me, do I want the man who holds me together or the man who gives me permission to break?

“If you’re broken, I’ll fix you.”

I literally could not put this book down. It just sucked me in and would not let me go until the last page. Maggie comes home to be in her sister's wedding...unfortunately she is supposed to be marrying Maggie's ex fiance' Will.  And that is just the beginning. This is a love triangle or quadrangle really. You have Maggie, her ex fiance' Will, her sister Krystal, and then Asher enters the picture.

Maggie meets Asher just at the time where the wedding situation seems to be spiraling out of control. She latches on to him to try to use him , but he is intrigued and not willing to just share just a night with her.

Just my luck that I'd pick a bad boy who's all about Mr. Sensitivity and wants to get to know me.

But Maggie has secrets and walls up and she does not want anyone getting in. She has kept all of her past hidden deep down to the point that it rules how she sees herself and how she lives her life. But Asher has his own set of problems and a checkered past. And he is not willing to let Maggie get away with cutting herself short. Asher is a sexy, charismatic, reformed bad boy who treats Maggie with respect. But she has been so focused on what mistakes she has made that it is hard for her forgive herself or let anyone close. She feels lost and unworthy. She pushes away, says whatever she thinks, and has no filter. He has a real challenge to change her perceptions. And he pushes her to break free of the past, be more open, and expect more out of life.  I LOVED Asher! He was broken too, but he made the best of it and looked towards the positives. He did not dwell on past mistakes, but learned from them and tried to move on. Oh, and did I mention that he was a former rock star and can sing? Just throwing that out there in case you did not like him already.

She puts herself out there in the same way--no frills, no pretense, no bulls**t.  Just Maggie. I like that. I like it more than I want to. I like her more than I want to.

Something about Asher compels me to open up. Something about the way his blue eyes take me in,. It's like he sees something good when he looks at me, and I want to throw my ugliness in his face to prove him wrong.

And then there is still the issue of Will and her sister Krystal. They are still not officially married, and he still has feelings for Maggie. He is sweet, tortured, and still building the life that he wanted to share with Maggie. He feels guilty, but he cannot stop his feelings. He has a need to protect Maggie and cannot stop himself from being near her and wanting her. Her sister has her own feelings of guilt. It is a bad situation all the way around. Will was a sweetheart and would be a good catch for anyone, but I was already stuck on Team Asher.

"I am an addict and Maggie Thompson is my drug."

So in the midst of all of the relationship drama and angst, are deeper secrets from the past that slowly unravel. I swear they just kept coming and some I did not expect! We learn several instances in Maggie's past that have left her broken, why she has a reputation in their town, and why she cannot forgive herself. And we see what has happened to Asher in his recent past and his demons that sent him to hide away in the town of New Hope himself. And Will and Krystal have their own struggles to bear.

"I like you, Asher. But if we're going to keep ths up, whatever this is, you need to know my life is a little f**ked up. I'm f**ked up. "
"Then we're a great match."

As the layers are peeled away and fragile trust begins to be established, you are holding your breath waiting to see how it will all turn out. It was a captivating, emotional, heartfelt, romantic read with a edge of mystery and pain. It is about a woman discovering herself and truly learning to love herself and let herself be loved in return. It was raw, painful, sweet, heartbreaking, hopeful, and beautiful.

"What if noone can fix me?"
"You don't need fixing...It's like your mosaics. The beauty is already there, you just find it. Let go sweetheart."
"I'm afraid I'll shatter."
"If you shatter, I 'll find you."

It is told in three points of view of Maggie, Asher, and Will so we get to feel it all as it is happening and understand what they do no say out loud. The characters were fully developed, likable despite their emotional scars, and their relationships were deep and emotional. I loved every page of this story and want to go read more by Lexi Ryan.
