Everywhere I look, my friends are settling down - marriage, children, white picket fences; but not me. Marriage isn’t in the cards for me. I’m a ladies man.

A rock star.

I was born and raised in the industry.
I love everything about my life, especially the attention from the women that my status brings me.

Women find me. I don’t chase. I know what they want and they know I’ll deliver.

But after one look, one touch, one night...

Now I’m the one doing the chasing.

I need to find a way to show her that I’m serious, that I can change.
I need to find a way to show her that I can love her fully, and only her.
I need to find a way to show her that she’s my forever.

We met Jimmy and Jenna in Forever my Girl and got a bit more in My Unexpected Forever. Jimmy Davis is the bassist of the band and Jenna is Josie's close friend. We have seen Jimmy as a ladies man, taking what he wants, and not making connections. He tried a relationship in the past, but it did not end well. Jenna  has her own troubled past and pain. He and Jenna had one impulsive time together with lasting implications. But neither of them think that the other is really interested in more.

But a spontaneous decision changes their lives. They find themselves trying to come together, but deal with all of the fears, insecurities, and pasts that haunt them. In a swirling mix of impulsivity, drama, angst, and danger, they try to find an anchor. But when two people have serious trust issues and fears, sometimes it is hard to hold on.

Jimmy had many sides to him. We have seen him as the man whore, but now we see him as a man who was broken by those who were supposed to care about him. But when faced with a difficult situation, he tries to do the right thing. And he is not afraid to take responsibility and change for a good cause. He has a softer, sweet, and more vulnerable side. But I admit that especially in the beginning his quick change in thought processes almost gave me whiplash.

"He's sweet on one side, dirty on the other. Honestly, I wouldn't change him."

Jenna was skittish, insecure, and lived in fear. And she had reason to be scared. She lived through hell, escaped, and started over in Beaumont and made good friends. She wanted to believe in Jimmy, but found it difficult and just kept waiting for the bubble to burst. She had been weak, but wanted to be strong now. But in the back of her mind even as she was trying to move on, her fears often creeped in to hold her back.

I will admit towards the beginning, I was not sure I was feeling their true connection and some of the decisions just seemed really impulsive and out of character. It moved really fast and some situations seemed like they resolved too easily when they could have provided much more tension. But then I realized that them getting together was not the most important part of their story. It was staying together and facing their pasts. They had issues to deal with and many struggles. There were secrets, lies, insecurities, and danger. And it all kept building. There were situations that had me gasping and holding my breath.  I loved seeing them fight for each other. And I came to love them as a couple.  I enjoyed the growth in the characters, especially Jimmy.

"You bring out the best in me, Sweet Lips. I just need you to be patient with me. I'm going to f**k up, but you have my permission to kick my arse when I do."

So somewhere along the way, I became invested in them both and wanted them to find their happy forever against all odds. I also enjoyed spending time with Liam, Josie, Harrison, and Katelyn. They are such a tight knit pseudo family. They are loyal and fiercely protective. They have all been through heartbreak and tragedies, but continue to hold on and navigate their lives together. This book was sweet, frustrating, heartbreaking, tense, and suspenseful. It tied the series together well and I enjoyed being back in Beaumont.

"I've never felt like this before. I see our ship comin' from the shore and that horizon in your eyes is like tobacco sunburst. After we set sail, there's gonna be storms. Just don't lose faith in me cause I'll keep us on course. Remember this day, it's written in the stars. We're on our way to forever, girl it's not that far..."

The story in Beaumont continues with Finding My Forever. We've been introduced to most of the major characters in this third book in the first two books, and the novella, but this time band member, Jimmy, and Josie's friend and coworker, Jenna get their stories told.

Finding My Forever was a sweet story. Neither Jimmy or Jenna begin their relationship with anything other than a one night stand in mind. Even after the situation changes, Jenna knows that one night was all she'll get from Jimmy because that's all he does. He is the consummate womanizer -- and there are certainly more than enough women willing to be with him for only a night or two. Jenna's past finally catches up to her, nearly 5 years after landing in Beaumont, in the form of her abusive ex-husband. The events he puts into play will change everything for Jenna and her friends if she doesn't leave town. And her friends won't let her run away.

Jimmy's turn around from playboy-ladies' man to a one-woman man was very quick. I was not expecting him to come around so quickly, especially based on where it happens in the story and what else is going on around them. And then Jenna going along with him, although cautiously, just extended my initial shock. But it didn't take long before I had almost forgotten that I was shocked in the first place and was moving right along with the rest of the story.

I loved the way their story unfolded though. From watching each other (remember Jenna's comments during the game of Kiss, Marry, Screw in My Unexpected Forever?) to Jimmy's change of heart and on and on. So much happens to this couple over the course of the book that just kept me connected with these two and cheering for them. Jimmy's dad and ex-girlfriend though? Ugh. Wanted to punch them both in the face.

There were a couple points in the story where I found myself wishing it would move along and others where things moved so fast I didn't feel like I could keep up. Overall though, this was a great, easy read. I always feel like it's coming home to read these Beaumont stories -- such a great cast of recurring characters and small town happenings for these rockers and their women and children.
