Grayson Ford and Emma Kinglsey—close since they were kids, opposites in every way. He’s the stuff high school crushes are made of, Mister Popular, and captain of every team. She’s artsy, cute, and not in his league, though fully aware of Summerland’s "I Dream of Dating Grayson Ford" support group.

I can’t say no. The girl’s had my heart since before I knew it went missing.

He hides a life of hell. His father hates him, his mother’s gone. Emma is his only savior, yet she doesn’t know her power over him. She’s the only girl he wants, the only one he could ever tell—though he won’t.

I’m stronger, bigger, more of a man than he’ll ever be, but because I ruined his life, I’ve taken his crap, his attacks, the vulgar nature of his existence.

Until she discovers Gray’s embarrassment, his humiliation. Emma fights for him, for a chance. Theirs is a Cinderella story that she believes impossible. But as the layers peel back, it’s just a guy who needs a girl in order to keep breathing.

My mind is already doodling Mrs. Grayson Ford in imaginary notebooks. He has no clue where my head is at… But, given that I didn’t see what just happened coming, maybe I have no clue where his head is at either.

* ONLY FOR HIM is the first book in the Only series, all of which will release in Spring 2015.

Grayson Ford and Emma Kinglsey were two best friends who found young love. But he lived with secrets and pain that he tried to hide under his all star, smart, funny facade. She was a sweet art nerd and his best friend Ryan's slightly younger sister. I enjoyed the camaraderie between all three of them.

I loved Grayson. He was a broken boy that tried to hide it. But he was hard on himself and felt unworthy. And Emma was so gentle, loving and kind. But she felt geeky and unworthy of his perfect image. There were lots of hidden feelings, misunderstandings, fears and insecurities involved in their relationship. But eventually they each started pushing the other more and more.

And as the layers were peeled back and perfection was definitely noted to be in the eye of the beholder, it was obvious that they had a strong connection and love for each other. They save each other in some ways and hurt each other in others.
These two were everything to each other, but they wasted so much time. And time was running out as high school was ending and the future was looming ahead of them.

This is a story of friendship, young love, tough choices, and growing up. Decisions made had a huge impact on both of their lives and determined their futures. I loved these characters and their special bond and intensity. My heart hurt for them both at times. This gives us both of their points of view during their friendship, emerging love, and a bit of a peek into their future. The way she teased us with  the future time jump just intrigued me more.

It was a short, sweet, heartbreaking, coming of age story and it was easy to get pulled into and invested in these characters. And even thought it was novella length, it was still well developed and I felt their emotions, fears, and hopes. But their story is definitely not over yet. I was left with my heart in distress and wanting the next installment Only for Her right now!

I love Cristin’s Titan series, and discovered it at about the time Sweet Girl came out. So when I saw that she was releasing a NA series I jumped at the chance to read it. Only For Him is a bit of a change for fans of the Titans, but as I expected, this is a fantastic beginning for Grayson and Emma.

Emma Kingsley is sweet, quiet, and artistic. She has been crushing on her brother’s best friend for as long as she can remember, though hiding her feelings as best as she can.

Grayson Ford is from the opposite side of town, and lives a life completely different from his best friend, Ryan, and his sister. But his time at the Kingsley house made up for the trouble that always found him at home, and it didn’t help that Ryan’s sister was perfect in every way.

But admitting feelings that have been hidden for so long does not solve all problems, especially as events are already set in motion which neither character can take back.

There is a cliffhanger, and it is so brilliantly placed that I finished and would have immediately grabbed the next volume if it was available. This was a perfect way to both wrap up one aspect of the storyline, while teasing readers with a scenario that leaves one wondering what happened in the meantime for one character, and how will things play out in the near future for both.

As the first of 4 interconnected novellas, this is a short story, but dang does it pack a punch. It is emotional, heartwarming, and heart breaking. This is not the end of Emma and Grayson’s story and I am itching to get my hands on the next installment, as my imagination is running wild!
