If Grace Johnson knew one thing at all, it was that all men were dirtbags.

All men … except Noah Bennet.

“I was lost in his eyes. Lost in his tears. My goal was to pull him out of the darkness … even if it dragged me in as well.”

If Noah Bennet knew one thing at all, it was he needed Grace Johnson.

Needed her … desperately.

“My pain was pulling me under … she was my only saving grace.”

Grace is willing to put everything on the line to help bring back the man she is hopelessly in love with. Even if it costs her the future she’s been longing for.

“If finding you means losing a part of me … I’ll do it.”

“Why are you both home so soon? I thought it was dinner and a movie?”

Alex chewed on her lip as Will lifted his eyebrows and pushed his hand through his hair. “Yeah, I don’t think we’re going to be allowed back into Joey’s Pizza anytime soon,” Will said as Alex glared at him.

“Why?” Grace asked as she leaned her body into me. God, I loved the feeling of being with her. It allowed me to forget everything else going on in my life.

“Do you want to tell them, Will? Or should I?” Alex asked, hands snapping to her hips as she narrowed her eyes at Will.

Will walked to the kitchen as he lifted his hand and said, “You go right ahead, I’m getting a beer. Noah, want one?”

As much as I wanted one, I had given up drinking after I went on the drunken binge a few months back.

“No thanks, I don’t drink anymore.”

Grace looked up at me and gave me the sweetest smile.

Alex made her way over to the chair and sat as Grace took my hand in hers and led us to the sofa. Sitting, she motioned for Alex to begin with her story.

Alex cleared her throat and took a quick peek at Will. “Well, I’ve been having morning sickness, but it seems to come and go. It came tonight at Joey’s Pizza. I was feeling nauseous. Will here, he decides it’s funny seeing me gag when I see this guy … picking his—”

Alex covered her mouth and made a gagging sound as Will attempted to hold in a laugh as he walked up.

Dropping her hand, Alex yelled, “Stop it, Will!”

Holding up his hands, he shook his head. “I’m sorry! I can’t help it.”

Letting out a frustrated sigh, Alex continued on. “Anyway, Will here kept talking about it, even when I begged him to stop. We were standing in the buffet line and Will told me to look at the guy. I did.”

“Oh holy hell,” Grace whispered, “you didn’t?”

Slowly nodding her head, Alex whispered back, “I did.”

“Then Will gagged, because he looked at the guy who was… oh God … it’s hitting me again.”

Grace and I both leaned away from Alex.

Alex jumped up and ran into the half bath down the hall as Grace and I watched her and then turned back to Will. He was lifting his beer to his lips as he took a long drink and smiled.

“Long story short, she threw up all over the buffet. Twice.”

“Gross,” Grace and I said.

Letting out a chuckle, Will said, “That’s not the worst of it.”

Shaking her head, Grace asked, “How could it be any worse?”

“Other people throwing up.”

Grace Johnson and Noah Bennet have been circling around each other for several books. They shared an instant connection, a short lived hidden romance that was torn apart by fears and misconceptions and misunderstandings. Realizing they have both been hurt by the loss of the other and lack of closure, both decide they need answers.

Grace is a lot like her feisty, smart-mouthed, strong-willed, emotional mother Ari. She definitely gives Noah and her family some sass. But she is also a girl with trust issues and a tendency to avoid getting close.

Noah is going through a lot in his life and he has some problems. But he is genuinely a sweet, caring, good guy. They felt they had a real connection that was hard to get over, but they both made mistakes.

Once they reconnect, it seems like at least they might have found a bit of happiness again. But there are still trials and tribulations to face. Love isn't always pretty or easy. They will each have to find their inner strength at times. Their commitment will be tested. They will deal with pain and challenging situations.  They need to figure out where to pull strength from in difficult times. There is a give and take in relationships that has to be balanced. They will have to fight for each other and their future.

Their friends and family are all a significant part of their story. They provided humor, drama, mischief, fun, stress, and support. All of their lives are intertwined and affect the others. Meg and Noah's cousin Grayson were also featured in this one and I imagine their story will be next in the series. I really liked Gray. I am still not sure how I feel about Meg.

This was about trust, hope, strength, and redemption. This couple felt fate kept bringing them together, but they were constantly ripped apart by obstacles. This is their journey of fighting for hope, love, and a future. This one was a fairly easy read for me and not as super angsty as some previous installments. I did have a few issues here and there with timing issues and plot points. But overall, I enjoyed finally getting Grace and Noah's story that has been a long time coming. I had some preconceived ideas that I thought the story might entail from some previous teasing in other books, but I actually was surprised by some of the plot and challenges so that made it more interesting.

Grace has kept Noah at arms length as long as she could. Despite growing closer quickly again, she doesn’t want to get hurt again.

Noah’s timing with Grace always seems off, and then as soon as he thought he had her close, she started avoiding him. But enough is enough. He knows he needs her in his life and is determined to convince her she belongs with him and he won’t hurt her.

As the misunderstandings are cleared up and Noah makes it clear that he isn’t giving up on Grace, I fell in love with him even harder than I already was. Long time readers of this series know how long ago Grace and Noah met at the beach, though we never really saw what was happening in the background. But even though he will fight for her, his life is about to take a turn that he isn’t equipped to handle on his own.

This story has a darkness that hasn’t really reached anyone in this generation of the Love Wanted series up to this point. They each have times where they have to serve as the others’ strength, and fight for each other when the other can’t.

There was a lot going on in this book. Between the main storyline with Noah and Grace, the potential building with Meg, the previous generations, Will and Alex, Alex’s pregnancy, Alex and Grace’s nursery, and Noah’s family, there were a lot of plots and twists to track and follow both for their impact on Noah and Grace and the potential for future books.

I felt this book was less over-the-top dramatic that some of the previous books in the series, but still had a tidal wave of angst that was just more than I look for in a book anymore. There also seemed to be some odd twists and coincidental appearances (with knowledge that seemed to be obtained through divine or psychic means) that yes, had to happen, but seemed just a little too perfect to be true.

Even though I was hesitant at the end of the previous book, I had to give this one a chance because Noah and Grace was the storyline I’ve been waiting for with the most anticipation. I am glad I read this one for Grace and Noah. I enjoyed seeing where the other couples are, especially with as heavily as Alex and Will play in this book, and enjoyed getting to know Noah’s family, especially his cousin Gray (who we actually met in a previous book, in a surprising coincidence).
