From NYT Bestselling author, Sawyer Bennett, comes a SEXY new stand alone romance…

When you’re a rock god, fame and fortune are your two best friends, but they can be fickle bitches. Everyone wants a piece of me and I have no clue how to deal with it all. I’m being sued, pressured to sign contracts, and fending off rabid women who want to steal my virtue.

Well, not that I really have any virtue, but still… my life has turned completely bat-shit crazy.

That’s why I need Emma Peterson. She got me out of a bit of a jam once, and I know she can do it again. The only problem is that sweet, prim and totally straight-laced Emma doesn’t want anything to do with me. Not professionally, and certainly not personally.

It’s not that I want her in that way. Let’s be realistic… it would take a crow bar of epic proportions to get her to spread those legs for me.

No, I only want her legal expertise and for her to make sense of my crazy world. It’s a good thing I have just the leverage to make her do my bidding, because her refusal is not an option.
*Sexy Lies and Rock & Roll is a hot, romantic comedy stand alone.

Emma Peterson likes order, quiet, books, contracts, and isolation. She is not happy working at the busy law firm, Knight and Payne, where her dad is a partner. But she's stuck there in her first year as an associate lawyer.

Her boss sends her to help out her nephew who is in a bit of a mess. Evan Scott is a new media sensation, indie rock star, and in definite need of legal advice. They clash a bit, but Evan finds himself intrigued by the buttoned up young lawyer that can get fiery when provoked.

Evan decides he wants to spend some more time with Emma and manages to present her with an offer she can't refuse. Before she knows it, she is boarding his tour bus as his legal consultant for a month. Spontaneous and adventurous are not in her make up at all. This is way out of her comfort zone, but he promises her it will be worth her while.

The sexy rock star wants Miss Prim and Proper to take a walk on the wild side. They've got chemistry and he is determined to explore it.  He's willing to show her all she has been missing. But he also needs her as a stabilizing force and as someone who looks out for his true interests. Most people want something from him, but she just sees Evan the man.

Evan may be a star, but he is also grounded, humble, and real. He has a big heart and is vulnerable. His past was full of one-night-stands, but he becomes more and more attached to Emma. He pushes her to become more daring and fun, but he also accepts her more reserved personality. I totally fell for this sweet and sexy rocker who was a little lost and really just needed someone who he could trust and was on his side.

She's got fears and insecurities and is easily overwhelmed.  But he helps her gain confidence and self worth that she has been struggling with. Underneath her reserved facade is a fierce warrior when it comes to protecting those she cares about. He has his own issues to deal with and decisions that have to be made. Their lives and dreams are different. Their good times in their little isolated bubble during the tour won't last forever. What happens when the time period is over?

These two were magic together. I loved their rapport, energy, and connection. They understood and could appreciate what made each other tick. But at the same time there were still some deep seated insecurities especially with Emma, as well as some outside influences affecting them. Trust is fragile and can easily be broken. The world he lives in is full of temptation, manipulation, and greed. While she thinks she needs a life with structure, autonomy, and routine.

Everyone wants a piece of Evan. But can he really give his heart and trust? And can Plain Jane Emma ever really believe that she is enough for the man everyone wants?

This is their journey towards figuring out what truly makes them happy and fulfilled. And the road they are traveling on is definitely not smooth.  Despite the outward differences in their personalities, they both also have the tendency to be stubborn and get hurt easily. It is told in dual points of view letting us really see into their heads and hearts. It is funny, passionate, romantic, and a bit angsty. It brings in both the law (ties in a bit with Friction) and the rock & roll touring lifestyle. I loved the side characters of his Aunt Midge, her dad, Cary, and the sweet and stoic Red.

This is an engaging, delightfully romantic, sexy stand-alone from Sawyer Bennett. It brings both the heat and the sweet with a side of fun.

Emma is a first year lawyer, unsatisfied with her job at Knight & Payne. Though her father loves working there, the unstructured environment doesn’t suit her desire to pour quietly over contracts uninterrupted for hours. She is proper, and straight-laced, and would rather work in a silent room than argue a case in court.

Evan is an indie artist in a legal jam. Suspected of murder, he is expecting the head of Knight and Payne, Madge, to walk through the police station door, not the mousy, young woman who is all business.

It was fun to watch Emma find her comfort zone, both in work and her relationship. There was often a fine line between the two, but her attempts to keep them separate added to the tension and drama between her and Evan. She has a lot of insecurities and dissatisfaction with her current career to work through, and adding a relationship to the mix only serves to give her more to stress over.

Evan also had his own growing pains as he continued to navigate his career and the influences around him. He isn’t sure who to trust and has some major decisions to make about his career.

I enjoyed the pacing of the relationship. From the initial spark of curiosity and the professional aspect, to the fire that burned between them, everything about this story flowed naturally. They have a lot to work out, finding a balance between their work relationship and a personal one, but I loved watching them step through the landmines of a relationship in the spotlight.

This was a great combo of rock & roll and legal eagle. From start to finish it was entertaining and pulled me into the action. Their bumps along the way only served to keep me reading to find out if and how they would overcome the obstacles. I loved the connection between this standalone and Sawyer’s Legal Affairs series. This is a complete standalone, but the ties to the existing series make this feel a bit like a crossover.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Mary’s strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active toddler, as well as full-time servant to two adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or a combination of the two.
