Falling for your enemy is bad. Falling for the man you only call your enemy is worse.
Reece Fox is a decade older than me but I’m his boss. And if the man growls at me one more time, he’s going to learn the true meaning of the Montgomery temper. Yet I can’t stop thinking of him.
After losing my fiancé, I’ve sworn off men, but when Reece does the one thing I never thought he’d do—ask for help—I can’t walk away.
Brooklyn Montgomery is too young for me. She’s not only my boss, but my friend’s family. The definition of forbidden. We both know this. But I can’t keep my hands off of her. When we finally give into the heat between us, there’s no going back.
Only when a little girl shows up at our work, she changes our world completely with one word:
Dad.
Kiss Me Forever is an age gap, workplace, surprise single dad contemporary romance featuring Brooklyn and Reece. Each book can be read as a complete standalone. An HEA is guaranteed!
Brooklyn thought she found the love of her life, but while planning their forever, he unexpectedly dies. Picking herself back up, she focuses on work and family, while trying to hold on to the memories of the life she was so close to building.
Reese has worked for the Montgomerys for some time, becoming the resident expert on fire restoration. He is startled when he learns he has a 12 year old daughter that he is suddenly the sole guardian for. Bella is grieving her mom, and Reese has no understanding of parenting or children, let alone helping Bella process her grief.
I loved Bella’s relationship with Brooklyn. I have suspicions about what drew them together, beyond a female presence, and I loved watching Bella settle in and form a connection with Brooklyn. There were times I loved the love these two were developing more than I loved the main storyline. But it is an important part of Brooklyn and Reese’s story and it was one of my favorite aspects of the book.
Reese and Brooklyn are explosive together. They bicker and push each other’s buttons in a way that points to simmering attraction. But Reese isn’t looking for a girlfriend (and doesn’t want to fool around with a Montgomery since he loves his job), and Brooklyn both hasn’t moved on from her fiance yet, and also feels like Reese is too old for her. But Bella’s need for support gives them a reason to spend more time together.
There is additional drama with Bella’s grandparents and the couple that would have been Brooklyn’s in-laws had their son lived. Both families are from upper-crust social circles and insert themselves in both business and family matters because of a sense of superiority and privilege.
This is an age-gap, surprise single-father, workplace romance that was easy to read and everything I have come to expect from the Montgomery world. There are plenty of cameos from family members of both generations. I always appreciate that even though this family is so large, and there are so many books in the various Montgomery series, it is not difficult to figure out who is who (or if it becomes confusing the characters joke about the confusion on page). This is a series that always feels like you’ve been invited to sit alongside the boisterous family.
