Forbidden Mafia Prince
(The Malfagio Duet #1)
Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank

Releasing: July 25, 2022
Cover Design: Hang Le

"What are you going to do with me?"
"Whatever the hell I want."

In Manhattan, tensions are rising.
In a play for power, the Rossetti family has made a decisive blow, crippling their rivals—an act that has forced the Fiores to make a desperate move to maintain their supremacy.
Many miles away, Luca Davis, a young medical student, has no idea his life is about to change.
No idea that everything he's been told about his  life has been a lie.
Enter Domenico Rossetti, the ruthless Mafia prince.  Powerful and unforgiving, he's a savage in a suit—and the one who holds the cards when it comes to his new captive.
But when the war escalates and both are forced into seclusion, the two men are faced with a new threat: the rising sexual tension between them.

You don't fall for the one person you're supposed to hate, but it's a temptation neither can resist.
Because falling in love with the enemy isn't only wrong—it's forbidden.
And the cost for defying everyone will be their lives.

Release Date June 28, 2022

A red-hot, enemies-to-lovers, fake boyfriend, second chance romance, and the conclusion to the Hopelessly Bromantic Duet!

Let me just say this -- fake dating the cocky movie star was not my idea. Especially since he’s my former roomie and, gulp, my secret ex.

But my agent tells me I have no choice since I’m ridiculously overdue with turning in the next big blockbuster love story to my publisher.

Not to mention, ahem, writing it.

Falling for the smooth-talking English hottie once upon a time -- fine, twice -- were huge mistakes that I shouldn’t repeat, but pretending to like the guy who broke my heart is my only chance at saving my job.

That is, as long as no one finds out that every date we go on, every smile we flash each other for the cameras, and every hot, desperate kiss on the streets of Manhattan is absolutely fake.

Except…it’s not. At least for me.

And he can never know…

Contents Include: Snarky banter, sexy dates, hate s-e-x, seduction by a wordsmith, and two strong, stubborn, clever men determined to resist each other at all costs.

This review may contain spoilers for book one Hopelessly Bromantic!

Oh TJ and Jude. My heart broke along with theirs as things imploded, and their lives after the fact have had their share of good and bad.

While they have had some career success, they are now both facing some issues in their personal and professional lives. They are struggling with their new normal not to mention that they both still have deep scars from their shared past.

Their agents are brilliant and creative so they think they have the answer to their problems...but it is not the answer that TJ or Jude ever expected.

How hard could it be for them to fake a romance for the cameras to get good press and fluff up their reputations as good boyfriends? Well...TJ and Jude can make anything complicated.

There's a whole dynamic of hurt, anger, regret, loss, and fear. But at the same time, they are both beginning to see things somewhat more objectively after some time and have a bit more empathy and understanding.  And they are back in each other's universe where the attraction is hard to resist, but their battered hearts and fears keep them wary. They both are currently worried about their reps and careers and they have to work together to sell this media version of their relationship and get their careers back on track. They are walking a fine line between fake and real but are afraid to screw things up.

But during the process jealousy will rear its ugly head, answers will be demanded, truths will be spilled, emotions will boil to the surface, and passion will eventually explode. Oh my, the raw emotion and intensity with these two are off-the-freakin-charts!

This is the swoony, sexy, emotional, witty, heartfelt conclusion to TJ and Jude's epic third-chance love story! I completely and utterly adore both of them and think they are such a great matchup. The banter, snark, chemistry, deep feelings, and bond. They truly are soul mates that just had to get their timing right and heads on straight. They love hard and deeply but where TJ is an overthinker sometimes Jude is more impulsive. And they are both stubborn and sometimes keep secrets. But they seem to be more willing to learn from their mistakes and put in the work to be better and try to make this third time a charm. But they will have to find a way to meet in the middle and leave all their cards on the table.

These guys put my heart through a gamut of ups and downs, but I loved seeing their growth and positive changes. I am so happy I took the journey with them, but it is very hard to say goodbye.

The side characters added depth to the story and LB fans will see some familiar faces and meet some new intriguing ones.
This is the finale of TJ and Jude’s story and was exactly what I needed for these two.

Jude and TJ are each in need of some help which their teams believe a fake relationship will fix. With the help of their managers and PR team, they find themselves in the spotlight on setup dates, orchestrating fake kisses, and acting their way through the public eye. Even though they weren’t able to make it work together the last time they tried, they should be able to pretend long enough to make their teams happy, repair Jude’s public image, and jumpstart TJ’s writing.

I love a good fake relationship, especially when there are real feelings behind the facade. These two are each reluctantly agreeable to playing pretend when they don’t know who their fake boyfriend will be, but reality crashes down when they learn who their pretend partner will be. There are some big reasons their relationship didn’t work when they were younger that still need to be addressed, and the hurts of the past could be enough to wreck even the possibility of pretend. But at their core, they both still love each other and it doesn’t take long until they are trying to keep the fake and real pieces of their lives separate.

This was a great finale for these two men. They had a lot of issues to clean up from their previous attempts at being together to avoid another failed attempt. I loved watching as they worked through their insecurities and their past hurts.

Once again, Laurent Blakely has pulled me into her world, made me fall in love with her men, and left me anticipating the return to yet another couple. I can’t wait to see what is next from her!

A sexy, passionate, utterly addictive, roomies-to-lovers MM romance from #1 NYT Bestseller Lauren Blakely!

Look, when I met the sexy, witty Brit on the streets of London last night, I had no idea who he was. He was just that hot guy I wanted to have a drink with so I asked him out for my first evening in town.

One thing almost led to another. After a midnight kiss, we made plans for a whole lot more the next day.

But when I unlock the door to my rental in the morning, the English hottie is lounging on the couch like he lives here too. Great. For the next year I’ll be sharing a tiny flat with the sexiest guy I’ve ever known.

Time for a few simple rules -- don’t walk around the flat wearing only a towel, don’t spend our nights together exploring London, and don’t crack open my secrets for him.

Even as I smash all those rules, I try to resist falling for the cocky charmer. But after a taste of his lips, I give all the way in, telling myself one night and we won’t fall in love.

Too bad in the morning I discover that hiding my true feelings is the least of my worries, compared to a twist I never see coming.

Contents Include: One broody American, one charming Brit, and two libidos that can barely fit into the smallest flat in London. Translation – hot, angsty nights in the first novel in a scorching and emotional two-book epic MM romance!

TEASE, an all new billionaire, fake engagement, small town romantic comedy from
USA Today and #1 Amazon bestselling author Melanie Harlow is coming July 11th, and we have the delicious cover!

I didn’t mean to say I was engaged to a hot billionaire–it just slipped out.

In my defense, I’d had a really bad haircut, a really strong drink, and I was trying to save face in front of the Mean Girl at my high school reunion.

Lucky for me, I happen to know a hot billionaire. Hutton French and I have been friends forever, and even though big social gatherings are not his thing, I called him from the coat closet and begged him for a favor–show up and play my fake fiancé for the night.

Except that word of our engagement spreads like wildfire. Our families are ecstatic. We’re front page news. My little food blog is launched into the stratosphere.

Of course, I offer to set the record straight right away, but Hutton wants to give it a little time–the phony engagement will keep his matrimony-mad mother and every matchmaking granny in town off his back.

He even suggests I move in with him to make the ruse more real.

And we don’t stop there.

We practice kissing. Undressing each other. Saying things–and doing things–we’d never dare if we weren’t pretending. Because it’s all for show, right? We’re just role-playing. Hutton doesn’t want a real relationship, and I don’t want to get hurt. But the more time we spend faking it, the more I start to wonder.

Could Hutton French and I actually be right for each other, or is it all just one big tease?

She's a city girl in Seattle. He's a firefighter in a rainforest. This is never going to work...

Faith Benson isn't your emergency contact, she's the party-girl friend you call for a good time. The gal-pal who loves mimosas at brunch and martinis at Happy Hour. But her carefree lifestyle threatens her job at a top Seattle ad agency. There's no one better at landing big accounts (when she shows up) but her boss demands she take a leave of absence to get her head on straight.
Faith heads to the remote Hawaiian island of Kauai, far away from the vices that get her in trouble. A twisted ankle on Day One requires rescuing by a man who is vice personified—a gorgeous firefighter who awakens feelings in her heart she never knew existed.
Asher Mackey doesn't get involved with beautiful tourists beyond taking them to bed and then watching them leave his tiny island. He's devoted his life to the safety and care of everyone around him...except himself. Until he meets Faith Benson, the city girl whose vibrant, inner beauty shines a light on the dark corners of his life, showing him how safe—but empty—it truly is.
Despite their best efforts to keep their distance, Faith and Asher fall hard and fast, but there's an ocean between them. Both are building their lives on opposite sides of the Pacific while their feelings for each other grow more profound and undeniable by the day.
Something has to give.
When Asher receives devastating news, he and Faith have to decide once and for all to entrust their hearts fully to the other or return to their safe—but separate—worlds. Because neither can endure much longer, living somewhere between hello and goodbye.

Between Hello and Goodbye is a contemporary romance about love, loss, and experiencing life in all its facets. It deals with sensitive topics that may be triggering for some readers.
Trapped somewhere between hello and goodbye...

Faith Benson can’t seem to get control of her life in Seattle. She’s great at her job but lets her party girl personal life infiltrate at times and she makes poor choices. So when she is sent on a sabbatical to figure out what she wants, she ends up in Hawaii. It is just supposed to be two weeks of rest, recharging, and a little adventure. She is seeking introspection and no distraction.  But it doesn’t take long for her to need rescuing.

Asher McKay is a paramedic on the small island. He’s been a protector all his life and sacrifices for those he loves. He’s strong, stoic, broody, and fiercely loyal. He has deep roots in his community and he has his own emotional baggage. One crazy not-so-meet-cute with the outspoken tourist sparks a bit of antagonism with a side of interest, but he knows she’s not some tourist just to play with.

“He saved me and ruined me at the exact same time.”

Due to the circumstances, his protective nature comes out and they find themselves forming a tentative friendship and both know that they shouldn’t let it be anything more. Flirtation. Avoidance. Repressed lust. Friends WITHOUT benefits. Both of them are afraid of emotional attachments and relationships. Their life circumstances are totally different. But they build a deeper connection anyway despite valiantly trying to resist. Eventually, the sparks catch and they can’t stop the fire and the fall. But life can be messy, complicated, and sometimes completely out of control. No matter how much they try to manage their own circumstances, sometimes there are things that cannot be changed. Every time they think they may have an answer, it seems like life intervenes again.

This is a witty, captivating, emotional, angsty, heartwrenching, and inspiring story of love, loss, strength, hope, and healing. These two are opposites in some ways and kindred spirits in others. They both put up fronts and try to avoid the hard emotions. They both are discovering things about themselves and what they want and need, but it is not straightforward or easy. And even realizing what they want won't fix the other issues. I became totally invested in this story and stayed up way too late to finish it. I felt all of the feelings with these characters along the way.

I enjoyed the setting and people of Hawaii. All of the side characters added depth. I loved getting more with her best friends, Silas and Max, from Someday, Someday.

Emma Scott poured her heart and soul into this profound and personal story and it shows. The emotions are raw, the characters are real and flawed, the connections run deep, and the pain is real, but so are the moments of joy.
Faith is great at her job in Seattle, but not so much at being serious about a lot of aspects of professional life (and real life, really). On an ultimatum from her boss, she takes a vacation to Hawaii to assess her priorities and make decisions about her future. Her trip was supposed to be 2 weeks to think and reflect, but it didn't take long for her to find herself out of her comfort zone and in need of help.

Asher is an EMT in Hawaii, having made his home there years ago after his brother fell in love with the islands and a local woman. After a chance, dramatic meeting, Asher knows she isn’t just a normal tourist but he also isn’t sure how to convince her of that. He is a protector at heart, and has sacrificed a lot in the name of keeping those he loves safe.

The chemistry between them was quick and each was drawn to the other in a way that had them questioning everything. But they still live two very different lives, and know that they should keep things friendly between them for the sake of the differences in their lives. This part of the story grew frustrating for me because it was clear the feelings between them were so different, but neither was sure how to broach the topic of the future. When their ability to keep things platonic grew too much, they were fiery together.

There were a couple key points in this book that made me fall in love with these two again and again and made the second half of the book perfection. The emotions run high and there are some very painful emotions that have to be worked through as individuals and as a couple.

Overall, this story was a beautiful, heart wrenching tale. These characters had such a journey that was clearly tied to the author’s own emotional journey. I’ve never been to Hawaii, but the magic of the islands was clear in the descriptions and the pieces of the culture that were used in this book.

I'm not going to lie or sugar coat my review. I had a major love hate relationship with Between Hello and Goodbye. There were times within the first 40-45% of the book I strongly contemplated not finishing. I was easily distracted, bored, and honestly, I didn't feel much connection to the characters. As this was a highly anticipated read, I was sad about all of this. When it comes to an Emma Scott book, it's a rare occurrence for me not to be completely in love with her stories.

And then that pivotal moment hit, which turned the book completely around. Thank god for that moment because all I could think was something major and traumatic was coming and these characters are depressing me. I was nervous the angst/tragedy wouldn't hit the same if I didn't become invested soon. I love a good friends to lover storyline, but there was something about their friendship that wasn't doing much for me. However, once Ash and Faith started moving from friendship to love interest things began to pique my interest. I went from not really caring, to flipping the pages and trying to figure out what and who the catastrophe was going to be. I was invested in their outcome, and it broke my heart to think about the detrimental ordeal that was heading their way.

From that point on, I was all about Ash and Faith. I needed them to breathe air in the same space, not an ocean away. It was hell navigating the long distance with them. It tore at my heart, quite a few times. And I may or may not have cursed them both out a time or two. Ugh, pig headed people, who think they know what's best for everyone, drives me insane!

I'm truly glad I stuck it out it because I'd finally found the heat, the tension, the chemistry, the connection, and the emotion that I didn't get during the first half. And when that somethin' somethin' I'd been dying for decided to make an appearance I became an emotional, hot mess.

...damn you, Emma Scott!!
