Jett has to first find her and then manage to convince her to give him another chance. I love how dominant and intense Jett is. He knows he is at a disadvantage and he royally messed up by keeping secrets from her, but that does not stop him from hunting her down and getting her right back under his spell. He is sexy, charismatic, and charming and he knows how to use it. And he knows now is the time to start talking and make her understand that things are not always what they seem and that she could be in danger. I loved Jett in the first book and even though he broke my heart right along with hers, it did not take long for me to be back on his side and understanding that he had her best interest at heart. Jett is just so swoon worthy and irresistible. And I love that we get to see how much Jett truly cares for Brooke. And that we get to learn more about Jett's dangerous past as well.

The guy was a walking hazard to the female population. He certainly was to me. Even though he had crushed my heart and I knew about the kind of jerky trick he had tried to pull on me, I still couldn't help the tiny butterflies fluttering in the pit of my stomach. 

Brooke is smart and not a pushover. But she still has a hard time rebuffing Jett's charms. Deep down, she still loves him and knows she wants to be with him, even if he did keep important info from her. It was hard to earn her trust and he tossed it away so she has to come to terms with that. So he has to prove to her that he is telling the truth. But he is is so magnetic that she cannot hold out for too long. I was glad they did not spend the whole book fighting and fussing. They still have electric chemistry and fit together perfectly. 

"I don't want someone who's perfect because I'm not perfect. I want someone who's real; someone who complements me rather than completes me."

In this book, it is about regaining trust, proving love, and making amends. This is a story of furthering their relationship, learning more about each other, discovering secrets, and moving forward. But this book also has more of a romantic suspense feel than the first book. Strange things are happening, danger is lurking, mysteries and secrets abound, and Jett just wants to keep Brooke safe. But it is hard to keep her out of danger when he is not sue who and what he is really up against. There are twists, action, and a whole lot of intrigue. They are on a race to find out the truth before it is too late. 

Brooke's fun and feisty best friend Sylvie is back and we meet Jett's friend Kenny. He is a tatted, hot, apparently reformed bad boy.  They seem to be total opposites, but you know what they say about opposites attracting. I am looking forward to more from them in the future. 

I really enjoyed this 2nd installment in this series. J.C. Reed's writing style is so engaging and pulls you right into the story. The story lines are complex and the characters are well developed and complicated. I  just love Jett and Brooke. Even with their issues, they make a great couple. This book has romance, humor, mystery, and suspense. I am glad this one gives us a more resolved ending instead of a big cliffhanger. But there is definitely more to uncover and more story to tell in the next book. I look forward to Treasure Your Love coming September 2013.
