Kim's 4 star review

Billionaire Archer Bancroft always gets what he wants—and he’s wanted Ivy Emerson, his best friend’s sister, for far too long. Being forbidden and untouchable only makes her more tempting. When a million-dollar bet with his friends throws down a challenge—last bachelor standing takes all—Archer knows he can win. That is, until one enchanted evening with Ivy takes his heart for a ride.

Ivy knows Archer is nothing but bad news: Infuriating, arrogant…and completely intoxicating. But despite her best efforts, she can’t seem to keep away. When a stolen kiss leads to a night of heated passion, Ivy realizes she’s in trouble and in head over heels.

But in the light of day, everything seems clearer and Archer’s not so sure a one-night stand is all he wants. Concocting a plan to keep Ivy by his side, Archer might just be willing to lose this bet…and win the jackpot instead.

Gage Emerson is intimidating. Gorgeous. Captivating. I should  run. Right now. Just turn tail and run.

Gage Emerson is a successful, powerful, usually in control real estate mogul. Marina Knight comes from a previously strong and wealthy family and now runs their failing bakery. He wants her family properties. But he also finds he wants her. She wants a meeting with his best friend Archer as a business connection to help save her sinking business. But she also wants him.
Can they make a deal?

They two of them clash, flirt, fight, and offend. But their sexual chemistry cannot be denied. Their interactions just become foreplay to the sexual tension they cannot deny. It is back and forth and confusing for them both.

If we didn't hate each other so much, I'd believe she was made just for me.

Gage is literally knocked for a loop by Marina and is very conflicted between business and pleasure and what it all means. Marina is spunky, sassy, and just trying to make her business work. She knows he wants to take her business, but cannot deny what she is feeling either. But she does try to resist his charms.

I feel like she sees me, the real man behind all the bullshit. Flaws and all, and despite that, the attraction is still there between us. Like a living, breathing thing. Does she see it? If she does, she's pretending it doesn't exist.

What I liked is that it was not love at first sight. It was lust at first sight for sure. Then bordered on hatred and dislike, sexual combustion, followed by appreciation and like. But then the author gave the characters time to breathe and develop in  a more realistic timeline. It made it more believable. But it also took away a bit of the development of their feelings too.

There were complications with her business, his business, her family and his friends that needed to be navigated. Not to mention the fact that Gage never believe he was the settling down type. Remember he, Archer and their other billionaire friend Matt made a bet in Crave that the last bachelor standing wins a million dollars. We get to see more of Gage's best friend Archer and his fiance/Gage's younger sister Ivy. And we hear a  little bit about what is going on with their other friend Matt who will be the subject of book 3: Savor.

They both had agendas. They both had secrets. And at times their communication skills or lack thereof were their downfall. It was a fast paced, humorous, sexy read. This series is about three billionaires and the women that catch them. Each man and each woman is unique and challenging. They could read as stand alones, but the characters do intermingle. But each book focuses on the one couple's relationships. They are not as emotionally heavy or dark as some of Monica Murphy's other series, but they are fun, flirty, angsty and steamy with a core group of complicated characters.

Thanks to Monica Murphy/Avon Publishing for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review.
