Ryke Meadows, meet Daisy Calloway ... she’s all grown up.
Twenty-five-year-old Ryke Meadows knows he’s hard to love. With a billion-dollar inheritance, a track-star resume, and an alpha-male personality—he redefines the term likable asshole. But he’s not living to make friends. Or enemies. He just wants to free climb three of the toughest mountains in Yosemite without drama or interruption.
And then he receives a distressed call from a girl in Paris—a girl that he has never been allowed to have.
Daisy Calloway is eighteen. Finally. With her newfound independence, she can say goodbye to her overbearing mother and continue her modeling career. Next stop, Paris. Fashion Week begins with a bang, and Daisy uncovers the ugly reality of the industry. She wants to prove to her family that she can live on her own, but when everything spirals out of control, she turns to Ryke to keep her secrets.
As Daisy struggles to make sense of this new world and her freedom, she pushes the limits and fearlessly rides the edge. Ryke knows there’s deep hurt beneath every impulsive action. He must keep up with Daisy, and if he lets her go, her favorite motto—“live as if you’ll die today”—may just come true.

Hothouse Flower is bloody brilliant! Krista and Becca nailed this highly anticipated book of the year. It feels as though we have been waiting for Daisy and Ryke’s story for like ever. I am wicked excited to say we devoured it, couldn’t eat the words up quick enough! Kim and I seriously adored and loved Daisy and Ryke’s passionate, wild relationship. Can we just say, holy buildup of tension, batman! That said tension and longing between these two has been almost unbearable; it started out intense from the very beginning and kept on intensifying from there. The friendship and love you felt slowly growing between them was so dang hard to resist; it wrapped you up in them completely. As a reader, you seriously could not help falling just as hard right along with them. The charisma and chemistry between these two misunderstood characters was captivating. Ryke and Daisy were breathtaking in the way they love hard and play hard.
Daisy is such a free spirit who has been locked into a facade of perfection by her mother for so long. Ryke, well Ryke is quite the character. He has his own past issues that have caused anger and resentment. He is the farthest thing from free-spirited. In some ways Ryke has been pushing forward but in other ways he is still weighed down. Danger and adventure are a calling for these two restless souls. Daisy and Ryke are two characters who held a deep, rich connection that slowly unravels leaving you breathless throughout the story.
Age was a big factor for our couple. Ryke met Daisy when she was 16. Anything romantic between them was forbidden. Have no fear, the relationship Krista and Becca built between Ryke and Daisy never once felt anything but natural. I promise, age is a huge trigger for me and I never once felt uncomfortable. Throughout the series, Ryke and Daisy held their distance, the age difference not allowing for anything more than a delicately, well-built friendship.
That brings us to the here and now, Daisy has grown up and Ryke is right by her side caring for her as he always has. You would think that finally they are able to explore this vast new relationship together. Yeah, not even close. Unfortunately, Daisy and Ryke are still tiptoeing around as they try to navigate through this new unchartered territory. Every facet of this relationship adds to its intricacy, especially as they navigate through consequences and sacrifices, self-discovery, guilt, and feelings. In true Addicted style, nothing is all peaches and cream. Did you think these kickass authors would really let us or the characters off the hook that easy?
Ryke and Daisy are a refreshing couple in the fact that their love and relationship, as stated above, developed from a true blue friendship. They never felt instant or contrite, even as they fought against the odds. And the odds were highly stacked against them. Ryke and Daisy were the couple that was never meant to be, yet they are the most balanced and functional of them all.
Hothouse Flower pretty much rocked our socks. Not going to lie, I have been a Lo and Connor fan since the very beginning, and it almost pains me to have to admit Ryke came dang close to knocking my boys out of the ballpark with his wicked self. Now, Kim on the other hand has always loved him, and I believe her response to me when she finished this book was, “it is my favorite of the series.” As you can tell, this series comes highly recommend from us. We promise you will become just as “Addicted” as us!
P.S. Have no fear, in case you are wondering about your favorite characters, Krista and Becca give us plenty of Lo, Lil, Connor, and Rose. I promise you will not feel an ounce of disappointment.
Krista Ritchie has a clone...or someone who looks exactly like her. If she's not writing books with her twin sister, she's pouring over entertainment news and ingesting copious amounts of pop culture. She likes tennis, that thing called the TV, and beating Becca (her clone) on Sega Genesis. She created YA Book Exchange to combat her book buying addiction and started Nawanda Files, a YA Book Blog that features books into movies news, to share her love for all things bookish. Oh, and she does something called science. Whatever that is.
Krista & Becca Ritchie write New Adult books that make you cringe, gasp, and go ooh-la-la. (If you do that sort of thing.) They are currently working on the spin-offs and final books in the Addicted series.
