Expected release June 30, 2015

A sexy, suspenseful new romance novel from Lauren Blakely, author of the New York Times Bestselling Seductive Nights series….

She was the one who got away…

Ten years ago, Brent Nichols let the love of his life slip through his fingers. It’s his greatest regret, especially since she’s all but disappeared. But when the gorgeous and captivating woman walks into his life unexpectedly, he’s determined to win her back. Whatever it takes, he won’t make the same mistake twice.

Easier said than done…

Shannon Paige has hardened her heart to the man she was once engaged to be married to. After the way he left, and after the hell she’s been through with her checkered family, there’s no way she’s letting him into her life again. The problem is, the second she sees him, he’s more handsome and charming than before. And she’s torn between wanting to fight with him and wanting to sleep with him - maybe both. Soon they fall into each other’s arms, consumed with a desire that burns through the years.

But if these two fiery lovers are going to have a real second chance at this kind of intense, passionate, bone-deep love, he’ll have to give her his whole heart, and she’ll have to give up all the secrets from her messy past.

And that messy past is about to spill over into her carefully constructed present…

SWEET SINFUL NIGHTS is book one in SINFUL NIGHTS, a four-book series. Each book will follow a new couple.

Q&A about the Sinful Nights series:

Does this take place after the events in the Seductive Nights series?
A: Yes. This story begins one year after the final Seductive Nights book.

Can I read this if I haven’t read the Seductive Nights series?
A: Yes! You won’t miss a beat if you start with SWEET SINFUL NIGHTS. That’s why it’s Book One!

Brent is Clay’s brother. Does this mean Clay will be in SWEET SINFUL NIGHTS?
A: Why yes! He will indeed appear in a handful of scenes!

Is this series similar to the Seductive Nights series?
A: Absolutely. The hero in book one is a Nichols man! Nichols men are known for being dirty, passionate and fiercely loyal! You can also expect scorching hot sex scenes, dirty talk, high-class and glamorous settings, and passionate love. Have I mentioned the heat :)?

Temptation got the better of him as he walked to the hostess stand at Giada in the Cromwell, a trendy, boutique hotel on the Strip. Shannon was waiting in the entryway, her back to him, looking far too sexy for him to keep his hands to himself.

Because... that ass.
Small, but firm and round.
And absolutely delicious.
He knew precisely how fantastic it felt to grab that flesh while he sank deep into her. He shook his head, like a dog shaking off water, but it didn’t deter the dirty thoughts that invaded his brain. Hell, they launched a full-scale attack, completely taking over his sense of propriety as he strode up to her. No one but him should be allowed to see her in a skirt that hugged her ass like that. But then, she couldn’t hide that perfect body in a burlap sack if she tried, and he couldn’t hide his rampant desire for her either.

The hustle and bustle of a Saturday evening surrounded him as he crossed the final distance to the restaurant entrance. Music floated through the air, and heels clicked on the floor, and from somewhere he swore he could hear the sound of money even if there were no slots jingling nearby. The thirst for payoffs was never far away in this town.

Three more steps. Two more steps. One more step.

His hands reached out. He couldn’t help himself. Well, he could. He chose not to.

He cupped her ass, and she flinched for a second, but then he brushed his lips against her neck, and whispered, “You are so unbelievably beautiful, that I hope you’ll for- give me for not being able to keep my hands off you.”

She trembled against him, shifting the slightest bit closer, leaning into him. “You aren’t winning any medals for self-restraint tonight.”

“I’m not competing in that event.”

“You never could keep your hands to yourself in public,” she said, but she wasn’t swatting his mitts away, so he ran his hands along the sweet curves of her ass.

“Or in private either. But can you blame me? Have you looked at yourself lately?”

She turned around, breaking contact. Her lips curved in a small grin. “Yes. Why?”

“If I were you, I’d never be able to resist touching myself either.”

She rolled her pretty green eyes. “Amazingly, I can find the will to resist incessant self-touching,” she said, but she wasn’t smacking him, she wasn’t yelling at him, and she wasn’t walking away. Progress. They were making progress from the last few encounters. It was almost as if they’d slipped back in time, forgotten the way they’d split, and had returned to the way they were—good together.

He whistled low in admiration. “Impressive. But then, you don’t always resist. You told me the other day.”

This is Brent Nichols' story! He is Clay's younger brother that we met in Night After Night!

Brent Nichols and Shannon Paige-Prince were everything to each other until Brent took a gamble and made a big mistake.

Ten years later their careers have flourished, but they have not really fully let go of their past connection. A business opportunity puts them back in close proximity, but they've got a lot of baggage to deal with. He never seems to say the right thing and acts before dealing with problems. She is short tempered and has an even shorter fuse since he hurt her so much.

Brent is the perfect mix of an endearing, humorous, sweet, and loving guy with a dirty-talking, bossy, sexy edge. He is not perfect and sometimes he puts his foot in his mouth. But I adored him. He is another Nichols' man who knows what he wants and is not afraid to go after it.

Shannon is now untrusting and cautious after being  blindsided by Brent in the past
. He was the person who could usually take her pain away and soothe her emotional scars, so the fact that he also hurt her made it even worse. She is feisty and has a temper. She craves to feel wanted and important.

This was Brent's road toward rebuilding trust, re-prioritizing, and making amends to win back his girl. But not only does he have to make up for sins of his past, he also has to face some challenges in the present and help her deal with her own demons. They have to learn the triggers and reactions that got them in trouble in the first place and learn how to handle them more effectively. Only with full disclosure, honesty, trust can they hope to wipe the slate clean and begin new. I liked that they had a scorching chemistry, but yet did not use it to make rebuilding their relationship easier, but focused more on getting to know each other again and on an emotional level first.

I really loved Brent! He was intense, funny, and just had such charisma. I swear even when he was with his brother Clay that I have loved in the Seductive Nights series, Brent not only held his own but completely distracted me. And Shannon was likable too. She had been through so much, but proved herself to be tenacious and strong. I loved them together. They had witty, flirty banter and a connection that could not truly be severed despite time, distance, and pain.

Underlying their reunion and relationship there are also stories of her family's past that have affected her and her three brothers Michael, Colin, and Ryan. I am looking forward to more with these alpha men as the series continues to see how they were each shaped by their shared past and what issues they have in their present. I enjoyed her close bonds with her brothers and how protective they are of each other and of their grandmother. There are also some mysteries, unanswered questions, and some secrets lurking.

Both of them also have careers and business deals happening as well that are intertwined in the story and affected their locations. I liked seeing some cameos from other Lauren Blakely books. Those little touches always make me gasp and smile.

This was not a super angsty story since they were mature adults. It was an engaging, humorous, passionate, sweet, story of second chances with an underlying note of tragedy and time lost. It also had some secrets, mystery and suspense built into the back story that should continue to unravel even more during the rest of the series focusing on her brothers.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
One mistake. One argument changed everything for Brent Nichols and Shannon Paige-Prince. Ten years pass before they see each other again, this time as they enter a business agreement together. But the sparks quickly fly, if they can sort through their past.

Dang these two are hot together. Sparks fly. Attraction builds, and 10 years of absence makes things burn faster than ever before. I loved the little glimpse of their college selves. The differences between college Brent and present day Brent are subtle but speak volumes for the lessons he learned.

It was time to stop fighting, and to start behaving like adults who had history and baggage, and who had hurt and pain.

This statement is everything I love about a good second chance romance. Yes, these two had a past. And yes, they were as good at fighting as they were at f***ing. But ten years had passed and though those same sparks still flew between them, they needed to figure out if they could a) move beyond their past, and b) build something more stable that those two “f” activities. And man did they have some baggage between the two of them. At one point I have a note that just says “O.M. F’ing. G.” Because I read a scene that left me shocked, hurt, and so curious about what had happened after Brent left all those years before.

I love the background of Shannon’s family that comes out as the book progresses, and will serve as the backdrop for upcoming spin-offs for her three brothers. Though it wasn’t filled with overt danger or suspense, knowing that something is going on in the background was enough to make my mind jump to what might be.

Clay is a hard man to follow, but his brother does a stand-up job. I loved seeing Clay and Julia again, but may have loved Shannon and Brent even more, especially since I’m a sucker for second chance romance. This book also introduces Shannon’s brothers, who will be the focus of future Sinful Nights releases, and Bent’s friend Travis who will be the focus of the next Fighting Fire novel.
