This is the third installment of Elle Kennedy's Killer Instincts series and I have been waiting for Isabel and Trevor's story! Even though these can technically be read as stand alones, there has been some build up for this couple in the last two books so I recommend starting at the beginning not to miss any of it. Plus I am really enjoying this series and characters so recommend jumping in and knowing that you will get sucked in and want to continue.

Isabel Romo is a chameleon, a woman of many disguises, and put on facades. But that only hides her vulnerable, damaged core from most. But her closest friends and Trevor Callaghan, a mercenary from Jim Morgan's team, can see under the surface even when she does not want them too. Isabel and Trevor have been together on two previous missions. During the first one she literally saved his life from a suicide mission while he was drowning in depression. But the next time, he was ready to try to explore their chemistry, but she got scared and bolted. But now that months have passed, it is time for her to face him again.

When a threat hits too close to home, both Jim and Noelle's teams must work together to get answers and find a team member that has gone missing. From Mexico to Monte Carlo casinos comes a plot of revenge and deception that is full of mysteries, suspense, and action.

Trevor and Isabel have such a push and pull--he pushes and she pulls back. She hates being vulnerable and is afraid to open up, risk rejection, or hurt him. But Trevor is not going to let her get away from him. They are both stubborn and definitely both have their own issues, but Trevor is relentless in his pursuit to wear her down. And their chemistry is strong and hard to resist. I loved them together and their flirty rapport. Trevor has grown and healed so much during the series while he in turn just wants to help her heal and move forward. 

This also features Noelle, Jim, D, Ethan, Liam, Sully, and Holden. And we get to meet Juliet, Sean, and Sofia. It is told in multiple points of view to help tell the full story and the story itself is fast paced and full of mysteries and suspense. I felt like I was part of the team trying to figure out what was going with the missing team member and trying to put all of the pieces together.  And this one has some major nail-biting action scenes and some serious emotional fall out. I was held captive the whole book and could not put it down. I am looking forward to more with Ethan and Juliet next and also Jim and Noelle. So much antagonism is brewing under the surface.
