Blog Tour and Giveaway: Rock My Bed: Michelle Valentine
Add to Goodreads Release Date April 22, 2013
Everything always seems to fall into place for twenty-four year-old Aubrey Jenson, except for when it comes to her luck with men. Bad boys always draw her in and crush her heart, and Black Falcon’s lead guitarist, Riff, is no exception. After sharing a few wild nights together, she leaves him behind; knowing a guy like Riff isn’t the relationship type, merely just a play thing.
When she returns to New York, she tries to get the passion she felt in Riff’s arms out of her head by dating Isaac, a successful representative at Center Stage Marketing. Just when she thinks she’s forgotten Riff, she’s forced to see him again when her best friend, Lanie, ropes her into being a bridesmaid for her upcoming wedding to Black Falcon front man, Noel.
Sparks fly instantly between Aubrey and Riff when they’re forced to reunite, and suddenly she finds herself caught between the man that’s good for her and the one who completely rocks her in every way.
**New Adult Romance--Book 2 in the Black Falcon series. This book can be read without reading book one.**
Book 1: Rock the Heart: Goodreads/Amazon/B&N
Novella 1.5: Rock the Band: Goodreads/Amazon/B&N
"I'm the guy women have fun with, not the one they settle down with. I'm no good for you, Kitten. Trust me, I'm a one man heart-wrecking crew..."
We are stepping back to the time period of Rock the Heart but see what happened from Riff and Aubrey's point of view. So some of the same events are happening, but the author does not make us go through the whole scenario again, she just mentions them or shows the scene from either Riff or Aubrey's POV. They meet briefly in a hallway and share an instant connection, despite Riff just being his egotistical flirty self.

So some of the same events are happening, but the author does not make us go through the whole scenario again, she just mentions them or shows the scene from either Riff or Aubrey's POV. They meet briefly in a hallway and share an instant connection, despite Riff just being his egotistical flirty self.
"Meet me out by our bus. Let me have just one night to f**k you senseless. I guarantee I'll have you speaking in tongues before the night's through."
Riff is a cocky, arrogant, and a self proclaimed man-whore and bad-boy. But he also has a vulnerable, damaged side. He has been hurt in the past and is drowning in guilt, and he feels unworthy of love. He is afraid to get attached to anyone and has protective walls in place. But Aubrey takes him by surprise.
"I learned a long time ago in order to keep heavy s**t away, you had to stop letting people in. Only if they're inside your heart can they hurt you. Things are so much easier when you can keep the caring part of you locked away from the rest of the world."
"She'll figure out soon enough I'm an unlovable a**hole who will only disappoint her and ruin her life smehow. Better to show her that right off the bat."
Aubrey is a beautiful, intelligent businesswoman, but also a naughty little minx. She is strong, determined, and is not a push over. One of her rules is not fall in love with a bad boy. But she can't help being attracted to Riff. He might just be one last hot fling before settling down with a stable guy.
"Damn it, If I were into relationships this girl would be f***king perfect for me."
I absolutely loved them together! They were flirty, sexy, funny, and sweet. They had hot chemistry, good rapport, and truly enjoyed being together. I really liked seeing a softer side of Riff aka Zach. He is much deeper than we saw in the first books and is more like a broken little boy who really needs to feel love and acceptance. But they are both scared, have separations, differences in opinion, and misconceptions that make things difficult. They find it hard to see how things could ever work out for them.
"One minute he likes me...the next he doesn't. His psycho mood swings are giving me whiplash."
They have an undeniable connection beyond the instant lust. But Riff has a secret from his past that has scarred him. And it affects his ability to open up, to trust, and he truly feels undeserving of love. So he has a tendency to hide his feelings and in his words "f**k everything up." And Aubrey is in denial about what she really needs to be happy. But the more time they spend together and in long distance communication, the more they realize that maybe they could be something more. But to do that, they both have to be willing to face their fears, truly open up about their issues and take a chance.
"When I'm with you. I don't feel as sh***y about my life. You give me hope that I can maybe one day be a better person."
"I love you with every inch of my broken soul. I know it's a mess, but i'm giving you all the pieces of my shattered heart and hoping you can make sense of it..."
It was a sweet and sexy story of opposites attracting. But there was an underlying depth of the characters and it also showed the healing power of love of acceptance. It flowed well, kept me interested, and I devoured it in one sitting. I enjoyed seeing Noel and Lanie from the first book and getting to see their relationship progress even more. And the twins Tripp and Tyke are so much fun and such good friends to Riff. I am looking forward to more books in this series especially Tripp. And I would like to continue to see more with Noel. Lanie, Riff and Aubrey.
Thanks to Michelle Valentine for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
"When
I found you, I found my heart, Kitten. You're the one putting me back
together. You make me feel alive. You're helping me find my soul again,
which is something I thought died years ago."
Sorry, this won't be one of my normal reviews, I am having serious writers block. I hope however that what I do have conveys for you how much I truly loved Riff and Aubrey! If you have not read this series yet, than I highly suggest you move it up on your to be read pile.
"I wish I could give you every part of me, but I'm so fucking broken that I'm not sure where to start."

I have been dying to get my hands on Riff's story since Rock the Heart. Rock The Bed picks right up where RTH leaves off and even interlaces the two stories. Michelle gives us Riff's story in a dual point of view. Riff and Aubrey were so much fun to read, I really enjoyed their journey. Riff and Aubrey were perfect for each other, totally opposite, but in a sense the same. They had amazing interaction and smoking hot chemistry, both just drew you in and took you through one hell of a ride. I loved that the story held some drama, but overall it was light. Two people discovering that an instant attraction can turn into something much more powerful. Real love can conquer anything, even a broken soul.
"My life has never been sunshine and rainbows, so bad shit happening to me is the expected norm. I learned a long time ago in order to keep heavy shit away, you hat to stop letting people in. Only if they're inside your heart can they hurt you."
When Kim and I received the ARC of his story I actually squeed with excitement. Even though, I am in a major book funk, Michelle Valentine did not disappoint! She took me out of my funk for a few hours and placed me in a world filled with tension, cockiness, denial, intense chemistry, a roller coaster ride of emotions, a sassy take charge heroine, a broken sexy as hell bad to the bone rocker and well who really needs anything more than that? Rock The Bed was a quick fun steamy read, I could not devour the pages quick enough. I am hooked on Riff, hooked on your writing style, and can't wait till you give us the twins! I am Team Riff all the way, have been since his first sentence in RTH. I feel the need to shout it loud and clear my love for all things Riff! Thank you Michelle for helping me find joy in reading again, even if it was just for a few hours.
