Afflicted:

I loved Blake. He was a good friend, sweet, protective, caring, supportive and just tried so hard. Piper was so confused, lost, stubborn, guilt ridden and kept getting sucked back into Cole's problems. Every time it seemed like she was going to really give Blake a chance, something would happen and she would push him away again. I really hated how wishy washy she was at times and how she treated Blake. They were an inconsistent catastrophe and at times it drove me nuts. They had a hard time sharing their feelings, staying on the same page, and not hurting each other. And Cole and Rowan were all mixed up in the whole situation making it even more difficult.  It was a long, twisty, angsty road and enough to give you emotional whiplash.

“If we do this I need to know that you’re going to be mine, Pipe. This going back and forth thing isn’t working anymore. I’m done sharing you.”

"You're an evil angel sent from my own personal hell to torture me over and over again. As soon as I'm getting over you here you are again, Until when Pipe, huh? How long until you run off again?"

Will Piper finally figure out if she belongs with the man she has loved forever , or with the rock star flirt that is actively pursuing her? 

"Blake I can't fall out of love with you, but I can't leave Cole either."

I liked getting both Blake and Piper's POV. I really did have a soft spot for Blake. We get to see more of the other band members and family and continued to see the progression of Jake and Aubrey's relationship as they settle into their new home in Ohio. Next up will be Derek's story in Conflicted.

Battlescars:

"I'm Aubrey Thompson, I am opinionated and downright uncensored. Fair warning."

Unfortunately for him, she is not in the market for a rock star boyfriend. She is closed off, damaged, snarky, defensive , scared, and tough. She has had tragedy and pain in her past that affects her present. She could care less that Jake is famous and rich. She makes him work for it. He is sweet, thoughtful, caring, and protective. He is willing to do anything and everything just for her to give him a chance. he is almost child like in his need to be around her sometimes and I found it kind of endearing(some people were annoyed by this). 

I like that you talk back to me. I like the way you look at me like I'm Jake Parker the person, not the rock star. So please don't shut me out, that's all everyone does. It's what they've done my whole life I know I'm an a**, and I will f**k up, but I promise you that I'll make you happy, I know you're not ready to be my girlfriend, but that's what I want. So just give me a f***king chance and stop making me chase you."

"I’m ready to fall if you’re the one I fall into."

Finally he worms his way into her heart. They are a really fun, sweet, sarcastic couple. They play off each other, have good chemistry and are willing to stand up for the other one. They really just fit. 

It really as some sort of kismet that brought us together. We were two lost souls wandering the world and then bam! 

But there is danger lurking in the background. Can Jake keep her safe? Or will her past come back and ruin it all?

I liked the other band members Blake, Derek, and Kevin and their body guard Brett. They have a great brother-like relationship and rapport. I also loved her best friend big mouthed, sassy Tattoo artist Piper. Her family especially Granny Jean added hilarious comic relief.  

This was a fast flowing read with likable characters, good relationships, humor, and was a complete story. . I liked getting both Jake and Aubrey's POV.  It is refreshing especially in a series to get the story from start to the end without any cliffhangers or big unresolved issues. Even though I know we will see the characters again in the next books Afflicted and Conflicted. .
