Twenty-year-old Holly Pearson never dreamed that
while working at her father’s motocross track she’d run into the walking,
talking definition of trouble in a sexy, tattooed package—Trip Douglas, the man
sent to evaluate the track for a possible investment opportunity. Holly makes
no attempt to hide the fact she despises Trip, but she learns to be civil
toward him when he offers to help her land the man of her dreams.
Trip needs a break from the crazy rock-and-roll
lifestyle he’s been living for the past few years. With his Black Falcon band
mates settling down with marriage and babies, Trip peruses an investment
opportunity in motocross, something he’s always been passionate about. Hiding
his celebrity status, Trip infiltrates the new business posing as a dirt bike
rider training for the X-Games. The only obstacle is the owner’s daughter,
Holly. She’s a real ball bustin' Ice Queen, and she’ll do whatever it takes to
make the deal fall through. Trip soon discovers that winning over his new enemy
is the key to gaining a partnership in Mountain Time Speed Track.
Book 2.5: Rock My World: Goodreads/Amazon/B&N
Excerpt
“What’s
wrong with famous people?”
“What’s
not wrong with them?” She lets out a
sarcastic laugh. “They’re egotistical, beautiful and they know it. Cheat on you
any chance they get. You know, the real full of themselves types.” She gives me
a pointed look. “Kind of like you.”
I
don’t know why, but my heart drops into my stomach. It’s not like I’d ever date
her, but hearing her confirm there’d be no way she’d date a celebrity like me
is crushing.
I
laugh nervously and do my best to throw her off my rock star scent. “Well, I
can promise you that I’m just a regular guy. But I won’t argue with you about
me being beautiful. The ladies do love me, especially the cougars. They’re all
over this shit.” I make a show of grabbing my junk.
“Eww.
You are so gross,” she mumbles.
I
laugh at her salty reaction. “Don’t knock it. There’s something to be said
about experience. I’m total cougar bait and I appreciate a woman who rides cock
well.”

I can't see myself ever settling down with one woman for the rest of my life. Not because I couldn't mind you, but because I don't want to. That lifestyle is for pussies. F*** the estrogen-induced life Riff and Noel are leading. I've tried monogamous dating before and that sh** went horribly wrong. Never again. NEVER.
Trip Douglas is the drummer for Black Falcon. He is looking for an investment during off time for the band and he finds one in a family owned motocross track in need of help. He also finds the owner's daughter, Holly.
They're initially snarky, feisty, and flirty. The sexual tension is high. He is keeping his real identity a secret. He does not do relationships...anymore. And she just got dumped so she has trust issues and is not looking for one either.
Trip is the tatted, foul-mouthed, dyed hair bad boy worming his way into her life. He is cocky, sarcastic, sexy, and bossy. He goes after what he wants and usually gets it. And Holly is the good girl that has come home from college. She is tough, loyal, and determined to resist the pull of another bad boy. She cares about helping her Dad. She is a good friend. And is still dealing with an ex who is not so sure what he wants. So they do not seem a likely match. But as they spend more time together and Trip starts to help her, they see a whole new side of each other.
The tattoos covering his arms give off the first impression of bad-boy, but I know now that he's nothing but a big softy hiding behind a filthy mouth.
Holly is an entirely new breed of woman for me. She doesn't give in easily to be my bullsh** lines which is both frustrating and intriguing at the same time.
But Trip is hard to resist. I did like both Trip and Holly a lot both individually and together. But I have to admit that I was frustrated a bit with Trip. I thought he should have come clean with her sooner. But I could also see that he was afraid of losing her.
I thought I was f***ing broken, but she's showing me everyday that it's possible for me to love someone again. Every moment I spend with her, I grow a little more attached, and I feel compelled to do anything for her.
They have serious chemistry and a real connection. And they actually do compliment each other well. But lies and secrets might just be their undoing.
Can Holly forgive another man lying to her? And what happens when it is time to go on the road with the band?
This installment was a little different than previous ones. Since it was not so much about the band and Trip was away in Arizona. So there was a new cast of characters around the motocross track. And I did like Holly's best friend Max a lot. And there was another guy that I loved to hate. But I gotta say I missed the guys of Black Falcon, their comraderie and their teasing each other. To me, their rapport is part of the fun of the series. We only see a little of the other band members. His twin brother Tyke had a little bit larger part than the rest of them. I love Trip and Tyke Together and have since the beginning. The band is changing as they find other important things in life. It will be interesting to see where Tyke's story Rock My Body takes us.
