Legal Affairs-Objection
Sawyer Bennett

One year ago, I graduated from law school and embarked on a career as a purveyor of high priced legal shenanigans.

Six months ago, my boyfriend dumped me when I thought he might be proposing.

Two weeks ago, I got drunk and joined a secret sex club.

Two days ago, I had a torrid one-night stand with a stranger.

Today? Well, today I’m contemplating having an affair with my boss.

Matt Connover is all kinds of forbidden temptation wrapped up in a deliciously wicked package, and he’s made it clear… he’s only interested in sex.

My name is McKayla Dawson but everyone calls me Mac. I work at the powerhouse firm of Connover & Crown, LLP, where the law has never felt so hot.

But between you and me, I’m afraid my heart won’t survive these Legal Affairs.

 Legal Affairs and Its Characters
By Sawyer Bennett

McKayla “Mac” Dawson
Matthew Connover

Mac is hearts and flowers, wanting a deep connection with a man that she can love throughout eternity. So it’s surprising that she would have an anonymous, one-night stand with a complete stranger. It’s ironic that said stranger turns out to be the one man she ends up losing her heart to. Mac is a new lawyer, struggling to build a career at the same time trying to manage her devilishly handsome boss who wants in her pants. She’s hilariously snarky, independent and loving. She’s also brilliant and has moments of deviousness that serve her well, particularly when dealing with the ego of the great Matthew Connover.
Matthew Connover is a litigation god. He’s a sex god. Every lawyer wants to be like him, every woman wants to be with him. He’s just that good. When Mac Dawson blows into his life, his world is turned upside down. He is hopelessly drawn to her but wants to keep his own heart protected. Matt thinks the best way to do that is to keep their relationship only about the amazing, hot and deviant sex they have, while Mac has other ideas on the matter. As you get to know Matt, you see there are reasons for his reluctance to give love a try, but he’s so damn hot, you are always thinking to yourself… how bad can this sex only thing really be?

McKayla's best friend talked her into taking a little walk on the wild side. It was supposed to be just one anonymous one-night stand with no lasting repercussions. It ended up being an amazing, Earth shattering night. And it turns out that McKayla shared that incredible passionate night with none other than her brand new boss, Matt.

Now the buttoned up law partner Matt has a tempting new lawyer working under him. He tries to keep keep it professional, push her away, and deny it. But he really does want her under him again. Matt is adamant he is not interested in relationships and entanglements. He has many reasons...some he shares and some he does not. She is not sure what made him this way, but she is intrigued to find out.

He's an asshole. There is no doubt about that. But I have a feeling he's a pathetically damaged asshole, and something has made him this way.

Mac is spunky, smart, and holds her own. Matt is powerful, bossy, sexy, and just plain hot. Their rapport is fun and they challenge each other. Their chemistry is out of control. But the boss has objections and all she can is concede to his demands.

"I think with my dick, McKayla...not with my heart. It serves me well."
"Well, I have to say your dick is the most pleasant thing about you..."

But can two people completely attracted to each other keep avoid temptation and keep it professional? Or will it all blow up in their face?

This is a sinfully sexy serial from Sawyer Bennett that will be in six parts released a couple of weeks apart to make a novella. I love her books and writing style and this one is just as much fun, but a bit naughtier. I pulled me right in with the unique set up, witty banter, steam, and likable characters. It is fast paced and engaging. I was not ready for part one to end and cannot wait to see what happens in the next one Stipulation! I have a hard time rating novellas, short stories etc. But let me say that the content of this short segment was a 5 but I went 4.5 just because it is a serial and the waiting is torture. I have no patience. But it is fun to have it to look forward too and I think these fun little serials are going to keep me in anticipation.

Thanks to Sawyer Bennett for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review.
