Jenna's point of view

“Want a taste of my delicious beef?” His lips curled up into a sexy smirk.

I knew he meant the beef stew, but I knew there was a double meaning behind what he was asking me. Before I could say a word he placed his finger in my mouth and let it slowly slide out.

“You’re a great cook,” I commented, letting my tongue seductively glide across my lips while savoring the taste of the sauce.

“I’m good at lots of things,” he said as if matter of fact, watching my tongue move across my lips again.

“Aren’t we confident?” I said, leaning back just a tad back to push my breast toward him. I wanted Max to touch me.

“Arrogant,” he said. “I can be very arrogant. And I am very damn good at making Jenna feel good.”

Suddenly Max dabbed a splat of sauce on my neck. “I think I’ll try some Jenna sauce.” Oh God! His tongue was working perfectly on that spot on my neck. My breath heaved and quickened when he dripped some more sauce between my breasts.

This is the conclusion to the Something Great series. We have followed these characters through many highs and lows over the course of Something Great and Something Wonderful.

Jenna and Max are preparing for their future and facing some new challenges. They have already overcome so many obstacles, and now they are really coming together and gaining a stronger foundation. And Jenna continues to gain confidence, but she still has some lingering fears too. Most of the time Max does his best to soothe her fears, but he is not perfect all of the time either.
Becky (Becca) and Matt are still kind of a roller coaster with ups and downs. Just when they seem to be finally finding their stride in their relationship, they are tested.  Secrets threaten to ruin what they have built. They have several situations to deal with that cause guilt and pain. Becca is a bit of a runner, avoider, she can be really stubborn. Matthew has a tendency to also need his space, but is also willing to chase when needed. They still have some growing to do as a couple if they are willing to stick it out.

This installment takes these couples though more of everything together. We see struggles, fears, changes, and milestones. There are a few twists and turns for all of them.

The Knight brothers are positively swoon-worthy, protective, thoughtful, loving book boyfriends. They treat their women like queens. Sure they occasionally make mistakes, but they usually try to fix them pretty quickly. And even when they mess up, you know they really are good guys and mean well.  They ooze charisma and are dominant without being overly controlling since it is done with respect, love, and reverence.

The women are still a little challenging and strong willed, but have shown improvement and growth. Jenna is more confident and sure of their relationship and taking on new roles. She is not the meek, insecure woman we first met. She is a bit bolder and does a better job of keeping up with Max. And Becky has to face some demons and hurdles before she can move forward, but she is trying. Sometimes she just gets scared and hurt and tries to protect herself. But The love of good strong men have helped them gain a sense of security and hope that they can find happiness even if at times their insecurities rear their head again.

I like the characters and their intertwined close relationships. The women are best friends and dating brothers and they all have a sense of camraderie, caring, and love between them. I enjoy getting all four points of view that are clearly marked and easy to follow so I can get a handle on what is going on in all of their heads.

The rapport, humor, and support between all of the characters is heartwarming and entertaining. Fans of the series will enjoy seeing the rest of their stories and a look into their future. It ties up all of the loose ends and gives them their conclusion we have been waiting for. This one has drama, secrets, surprises, tension, emotion, romance, and lots of steam. And leaves you with an epilogue with no questions on how it all ends up.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
SOMETHING GREAT (Book One)

Maxwell Knight was dangerously good-looking, seductively charming, and definitely trouble. He was everything Jeanella Mefferd did NOT need now.

Fresh out of college, life was predictable and comfortable for Jeanella. She had the strength of her friends, the security of her job, and she was dating a reliable man; it was all smooth sailing. That was until one night, when she met someone who made her feel things she’d never felt before—dangerous, heart pounding, breathless heat.

Never imagining she would see him again, Jeanella has no idea what to do when fate steps in and thrusts Maxwell Knight into her life, just as things were beginning to change around her. When she lands her dream job and travels to New York for Fashion Week, can she focus on her career instead of on Maxwell?

Will she ignore all the danger signs and jump straight into his arms; or would she miss out on the chance of finding something great?

Mary Ting(M. Clarke) resides in Southern California with her husband and two children. She enjoys oil painting and making jewelry. Writing her first novel, Crossroads Saga, happened by chance. It was a way to grieve the death of her beloved grandmother, and inspired by a dream she once had as a young girl. When she started reading new adult novels, she fell in love with the genre. It was the reason she had to write one-Something Great. Why the pen name, M Clarke? She tours with Magic Johnson Foundation to promote literacy and her children’s chapter book-No Bullies Allowed
