During the month of October, 100% of the proceeds from Tattoos and Tatas will be donated to breast cancer awareness.
Claire and Liz have always had a friendship that defied the test of time, but when one of them is diagnosed with a disease that every woman fears, their bond is put through the wringer. How do you cope knowing your soul mate could be taken from you?
Filled with memories of their life long friendship, inappropriate behavior, bad tattoos and shaving cats, the two friends will realize that laughter really is the best medicine.
Tattoos and TaTas is not your typical love story; it's a story of friendship and learning how to let go when something is beyond your control.
October 2014’s donations will be split evenly between the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Living Beyond Breast Cancer
A humorous looks at a very not funny subject, Tattoos and Tatas reminds readers that even in unpleasant situations, laughter can help cope with uncontrollable situations if you let it.
Liz and Claire have been best friends since they met at cheerleading practice, a cheerleading practice neither of them wanted to be at in the first place. Ups and downs, celebrations and challenges -- they have been there for them all. But when Claire is diagnosed with breast cancer, Liz doesn’t know how to deal with her inability to fix things for her person.
This was a quick read, but full of emotions. Because I already loved this group of characters, I felt their fears immediately. I read this through laugh out loud moments, streaming tears, and laughter through tears. Every emotion one expects to feel when hearing a friend is facing a battle with cancer? Liz felt it, Carter felt it, the rest of the group felt it, and I felt it.
There were some great Chocoholics and Chocolate Lover’s series memories reshared over the course of this book, but from perspectives that we didn’t necessarily see the first time around (mostly because Liz narrated this whole novella, so we saw some of Claire’s moments through the eyes of the best friend who was there for it all).
I loved the emotional journey this book sent me on, but more than that, I love the feelings behind why this book was even written. I love that in October, the proceeds go to cancer research. This is one cancer research fundraiser I can get behind, a little something for me, a little something for research. This was a great story for a great cause, plain and simple.
