Is it possible to expose Chicago’s hottest player—without getting played?

This is the story I’ve been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.

Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.

Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.

But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I’m the one discovering him…or if he’s uncovering me.

What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?

Rachel Livingston has one assignment for her Edge magazine article, get some good dirt on the elusive billionaire Malcolm Saint and write an expose'. Their initial meetings are a bit  awkward and frustrating, but also electrifying. First she pursues, but soon he is also pulling her towards him. He is a force to be reckoned with.  He's rich, sexy, powerful, confident, and magnetic. He has a brooding intensity about him and is in control of most situations. He's never satisfied and always looking for the next big thing or conquest. And he usually gets what he wants when he wants it.

Rachel is a bit out of her element. She's slightly socially awkward, naive and has her own agenda. She is fascinated by him and becomes a bit obsessed. She is  trying to be honorable and not mix business with pleasure. But he is a persuasive man and coupled with her own desires, it complicates the situation and is hard to resist.  She has to figure out how far she is willing to go to get her story.

They have serious sexual tension and chemistry. They are at times each the hunter and the hunted. They dance around their attraction with him seeing an acquisition and her seeing not only the biggest story of her career, but also the most desirable man she has ever known.

And the more info she pulls from him, and begins to see what makes him tick, the more he in turn extracts out of her. She wants to stay in the safety of her walls and he wants to break them down. They always both guarded their hearts, but somehow began to infiltrate each other's. I liked seeing their relationship develop. It seemed like it was out of both of their control. They were both consumed. They knew it was dangerous and neither really could see how it would end up. But they just seemed to continue to get deeper and deeper. But she she knew her secrets were a ticking time bomb.

He honors trust and loyalty. She is caught between her mission  and growing feelings for her target. It is a convoluted mess that she keeps falling deeper and deeper into and it's only a matter of time before it all is exposed. Where will that leave them in the end?

This was sexy, humorous, intense, and full of secrets and lies. It was told from Rachel's point of view, so Saint is more of enigma especially in the beginning. It is a familiar story with the naive reporter and elusive billionaire, but the characters do have their own appeal and chemistry while Katy Evans has her own style. And since  Rachel had her own hidden agendas,  there were blurred lines between who was really the Saint and Sinner.

There was a quirky cast of friends Gina, Wynn, Callan, and Tahoe as side characters that offered support, teasing, and humor. It will admit that it took me a little bit to warm up to Malcolm. But as his personality started coming out more, he started worming his way into my heart too.   I love how Katy Evans can take characters that are elusive, closed off, and intimidating and peel back their layers to see their more vulnerable human sides. There were many sexy times but also tender moments. And as it got more complicated, I realized just how invested I did get in this couple. They kind of snuck up on me. I was left in total anticipation and I am looking forward to more of their story in Manwhore+1

Rachel Livingston is given the assignment she’s been waiting for. She’s sure her career will be launched and the magazine she works for will be saved if she can write an expose on Malcolm Saint. Though she is young and inexperienced, she is sure she can get the story and keep herself from being affected by the man’s presence.

Malcolm Saint is a successful businessman, well known for his no strings attachment to women. His wealth and success only draw people to him faster. He throws exclusive parties with little concern for anything beyond his own pleasure and entertainment. And when he grants an interview with the unknown reporter from a floundering magazine, he realizes there is more than business involved.

Told from Rachel’s perspective only, it becomes clear that she is over her head in dealing with the savvy businessman and quickly discovers she has a hard time separating her mission (the article) with her actions (getting under Malcolm’s skin). There were times when I wished I knew what Malcolm was thinking, but only knowing one side of the story made it easier to put myself in Rachel’s shoes and feel her thoughts and emotions.

My goodness these two had chemistry. Like, smoking hot chemistry. From the moment they meet there is tension humming between them and it just feels like an eventuality that things will progress quickly.

There were times I felt like I had read this story before, but it didn’t take long for me to be engrossed in this story and curious about how all the secrets each were hiding would shake out. While it may have seemed familiar in the beginning it quickly morphed into something uniquely Saint.

This was a good read with twists and turns. Once I was invested in the characters and their stories, I sat on the edge of my seat watching for how their secrets would influence their decisions. And though I knew it was coming, the ending hurt to read. Rachel and Malcolm’s story continues in Manwhore+1 and it should be interesting to see where things go for their future.
