Joshua Wilson, Hollywood heartthrob, finds himself signed on to Married Blind after a drunken dare. Not wanting to lose face or embarrass whatever girl he is matched with, he publicly states he is competing to raise money for his favorite nonprofit. He is one of those actors who hasn't let fame go to his head -- he still lives in a tiny apartment with a roommate, isn't about the flash and shine of celebrity. But does have a celebrity ex who love attention and their on and off relationship has been all over the tabloids.
Joey Mitchell didn't even sign up for Married Blind -- her mother signed her up after a failed engagement. Now that it's too late to back out, she decided to make the best of it and hope for her perfect match. She never expected to take the blindfold off and find her celebrity crush. Joey was a great female lead -- relatable and down to earth. While she doesn't have her whole life figured out, she is likeable, steady, and sweet.
The chemistry between these two is off the charts. But how much is acted for the camera and what is real? Readers learn, to some extent, from the alternating narrators, but there is always the question of what is really happening. Between the game show and the 24/7 live cameras rolling it is hard to tell.
The people surrounding Josh and Joey as they navigate the world of newly wedded life are a good mix of trustworthy and conniving as they too play the Married Blind games or building their own relationship while competing for the most viewer votes. Cole and Millie are sweet and a comfortable couple for Josh and Joey to relax with, while Gary, Amanda, Bronx, and Rebekah are a continually shifting balance of friendly and questionable.

This was a very entertaining read with plenty of drama, competition, and chemistry. I was surprised by how quickly I made my way through the book. As the game progressed, I couldn’t put it down, wondering what the producers were going to come up with next and how Joey and Josh would find time and privacy to get to know each other. The ending took me by surprise and I can’t wait for more from Joey and Josh.
