In the steamy and suspenseful sequel to Sugar Daddy (“A totally gripping take on romance and revenge!”—Lauren Blakely), a heartbreaking rift threatens to unravel a dangerous alliance . . . and a fragile new love.
After posing as an escort for the Sugar Bowl online dating service, Sela Halstead is looking for one thing: payback. She's closing in on the site's heartless founder, Jonathon Townsend, and she needs Beckett North, Townsend's business partner and her lover, by her side. She'd thought that their intimate nights together had forged an unbreakable bond, but after a shocking betrayal, Sela begins to doubt the brilliant bad boy. When push comes to shove, can she trust Beck to do the right thing?
Now that he understands the truth, Beck will stop at nothing to secure the reckoning Sela deserves. But between his desire for her and his disgust for JT, Beck doesn't exactly have a lot of control over his emotional state. Left with no other choice, he must summon all his discipline to maintain JT's trust and pretend that they're still friends. But how far will Beck go to prove his loyalty to Sela? He nearly lost her once. To keep her, Beck might have to kill for her.
This begins right after the cliffhanger in Sugar Daddy. Sela and Beck had just had a big fight. He responds to her secret in anger and it has repercussions. But after the dust settles, the truth begins to sink in and gain merit.
Now Beck has some serious making up to do and Sela has a lot of secrets that need to be fully disclosed. Beck already had some problems with his partner in the Sugar Bowl, J.T. Townsend. But now he has even more reason to want to cut ties or worse. But what can be done to make him pay for his actions?
I love Beck. He is so strong, smart, caring, serious, and protective. Yeah, he had some triggers and anger issues, but he feels deeply. And given how emotionally distant he began in book one, that is progress and he is trying. He demands honesty and trust, but he also has a mind for manipulation if he needs to.
Sela has had it rough and was just feeling safe and finding a bit of happiness. But her past still haunts her and is affecting her present. She's loving, sweet, protective, and passionate, but also still broken, angry, and wants revenge. What feelings will win out? Vengeance or happiness?
They have to look at priorities, and figure out what they can live with and without. It had me all immersed as they gathered options, plots, plans, and promises. And J.T. has his own issues and agendas making a bid for attention and causing drama. Is there a way to accomplish all of their goals and still stay safely together?
I really enjoyed this one more than the first one Sugar Daddy. Maybe because I was more attached to the characters or maybe because it got more personal. But I really liked this unique story full of twists and turns. This one builds and builds and is not predictable. And as the author clearly warns, it ends up in a big cliffhanger too. Sugar Free is needed stat!

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second part of Sela and Beck’s story, but it is not the end for them. After the cliff at the end of Sugar Daddy, I was excited to see what it would take for Beck to believe Sela after their final confrontation, and where this book would take their story. When the dust settles, Beck realizes he is invested in his relationship with Sela to the point he can’t help but want to champion her cause, but how far is too far?
There is a lot of scheming and planning throughout the story, with contingencies and plan Bs all in place. There are a lot of factors to consider, especially emotions as their relationship continues to develop and the risks pile up. The relationship is still new, and as such Sela and Beck have only a fragile trust built up to withstand all the pressures. The tension mounts as Beck has to keep the status quo with JT despite knowing just how despicable his business partner is.
Their relationship is continuing to develop, especially now that Sela’s secret is out. The chemistry between them has always been high, but now the emotions are building beyond the physical pull.
It is hard to write much about the book, given that it is the middle of a trilogy, without spoiling. Once again, the cliffhanger has me ready to jump into the next book for the resolution. (This time I’m taking time now to read Sugar Free right away rather than waiting closer to release -- I need to know!) From start to finish I was invested in this story and didn't want to put it down for long.

Seduction has never been so sweet! The New York Timesbestselling author of the Cold Fury series—Alex, Garrett, Zack, and Ryker—returns with the first novel in a hot new trilogy.
Sela Halstead lost her innocence in a way that no sixteen-year-old should ever have to endure. She’s spent years trying to forget that night even while wondering about the identities of the monsters who brutalized her—until a telltale tattoo flashes across Sela’s TV screen. The incriminating ink belongs to Jonathon Townsend, the millionaire founder of The Sugar Bowl, a website that matches rich older men with impressionable young women. Obsessed with revenge, Sela infiltrates Townsend’s world, only to come face-to-face with a tantalizing complication: Beckett North, his charismatic business partner.
The tech mastermind behind The Sugar Bowl, Beck always gets what he wants, in business and in bed. And yet, for a man who’s done every dirty thing imaginable, there’s something about the naïve, fresh-faced Sela that sparks his hottest fantasies. Because with her, it’s not just about sex. Beck opens up to her in ways he never has with other girls. So why does he get the feeling that she’s hiding something? In a world of pleasure and power, the shocking truth could turn them against each other—or bind them forever.
Note: Sugar Daddy ends on a cliffhanger. Sela and Beck’s story continues in Sugar Rush and Sugar Free!
Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released more than 30 books and has been featured on both the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists on multiple occasions.
A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.
Sawyer likes her Bloody Mary’s strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active toddler, as well as full-time servant to two adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or a combination of the two.
