Money or love? Which would you choose?
You probably just answered the question in your head thinking it's an easy decision.
For me, it's not. Did I mention it's a lot of money? A hell of a lot.
I needed to go far away to think it through.
As I embarked on an impulsive trip, I hit a detour when I met sexy Carter in the airport lounge. We struck up a heated conversation.
Then, he left.
I thought I'd never see him again.
But fate had other plans.
Surprise! He was the pilot of my flight.
The bigger surprise was the adventure that followed after the plane landed.
Carter was dangerous and always on the move.
Even though our connection was magnetic, I knew it was only temporary.
He would give me tickets, and I would follow him around the world to exotic places.
A bevvy of flight attendant exes and rumors about Carter's reputation were never far behind.
I didn't know what to believe.
But I was addicted. Nothing else mattered anymore. And I was going to get hurt. Because a part of me wanted to be the one to finally ground the playboy pilot.
At the very least, he was taking me on a thrilling ride.
All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn't see coming.
I was gifted an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Captain Carter Clynes flies the friendly skies singing his Beatles songs and being extra friendly with the ladies on his flight crew. Earning a reputation as a playboy isn’t difficult when you don’t want to be tied down with a relationship but still want some company.
Kendall Sparks is at a crossroads facing a huge, life-altering decision. Sitting in an airport bar, contemplating where she should go, she adds one more decision to the mix when she starts talking to the handsome pilot who buys her a drink.
I loved the characterization throughout. Though Kendall never really acts like a traditional spoiled rich girl, there are definitely traits that point to her having grown up as such. And Carter was a playboy pilot, no doubt about it. The play between the two of them was fun -- as Carter did his best to drop his reputation and Kendall had to face what was important to her.
These two were sexy as all get out together. From there first encounters the heat between them crackled. I loved the spontaneity and ease at which they took their first leaps, sending themselves and readers on a globetrotting affair.
There are so many life altering decisions Kendall and Carter face over the course of the book. The soul searching they have to do on top of regular relationship challenges, and add in the fact that one is a known playboy, and this book is a recipe for entertaining fun.
The side characters on their travels and at Carter’s house only made me smile bigger as I read. His neighbors had some of the best scene stealing moments, and were a hoot to read.

A surprise meeting begins an unexpected adventure and romance they never saw coming. Carter Clynes and Kendall Sparks meet in an airport bar---they flirt, connect, and suddenly Kendall finds herself on his flight to Brazil. They share a rapport, truths, and a building attraction...and difficulty saying goodbye. As the adventures continue, their like and lust grows. They unravel each other and develop more of an understanding.
He's got a bad rep as a ladies man that follows him. But Kendall makes him want to be different. She's got a life changing decision to make that will impact her entire future. It is spontaneous, unexpected, and confusing, but they let each other get closer than they have let anyone get in years. They open up and show their real selves. But they also have sexual tension, flirty banter, and hot chemistry.

I loved Carter's sense of humor and playfulness. He is handsome, sexy, and charming, but also sweet, caring, and has a big heart. But he's got a dirty mouth and alpha edge too. He might not really understand what they are doing, but he is not afraid to admit that he is not ready for it to end yet. I loved his Beatles references throughout and how he tied them into situations.
Kendall is sassy, fun, and a bit lost. She is trying to decide what direction to take her life and how to deal with an upcoming decision. But she ends up following Carter around and letting him push her boundaries and share some exciting experiences. It's a thin line between finding happiness and being terrified. It is hard to decide whether to follow their heads or their hearts. They make each other crazy and cannot seem to get enough.
But their lives are different and they seem to be on diverging paths. Can they find a way to merge them? Have they learned from their pasts enough to make better choices for the future?
They will have to face their fears and learn to trust. It's about priorities, lifestyles, and commitments. But they face some significant challenges and issues. Their story takes some unexpected twists, turns, and detours.
This is unique, humorous, sweet, sexy, romantic, and just a whole lot of fun. The writing flows seamlessly and completely sucked me in. I loved these characters. I enjoyed their travels and their camaraderie and banter. I liked getting both points of view and getting all of the feels. I enjoyed the fact that it was not predictable and that there were some interesting surprises. It had enough drama and angst to keep me riveted, but overall it was a swoony, feel-good, love story. Another winner from Penelope and Vi!

The side characters on their travels and at Carter’s house only made me smile bigger as I read. His neighbors had some of the best scene stealing moments, and were a hoot to read.
There was more depth in this book that I had anticipated. From Kendall’s big decision to the path their relationship took, I was not expecting to feel this much while reading. I loved nearly every minute of this book, and the ending left me smiling from ear to ear.

“Carter? What are you doing?”
Shit.
I laughed under my breath and banged the back of my head against the wood. “Praying?”
“Do you always breathe like that when you’re praying?”
“It’s an intense prayer.”
“What are you really doing?”
“I think you might know what I’m really doing, Kendall.”
“Can I come in?”
Still fully erect, I tucked my cock back into my pants as best I could before opening the door.
Her eyes trailed down to my massive erection. “I’m sorry….to make you resort to that.”
“It’s okay. My hand and I haven’t spent time like this since I was a teenager. I think he missed me.”
“What were you thinking about?”
“You.”
“Yeah…but what specifically?”
“It was this fantasy of fucking you on the dance floor back at the club.”
She looked down at me again. Her expression was serious when she asked, “You need some help?”
“I thought you said we weren’t going to go there.”
“I can’t have sex with you. But I want to touch you. I could take my clothes off, let you finish what you started. You know…help you.”
Looking up at the ceiling, I shook my head. “You have no fucking clue, do you?”
“What do you mean?”
“How crazy you make me. There’s no halfway with you. Jerking off with your naked body right in front of me…not being able to do what I really want to you…would be torture. I don’t have that kind of willpower, not with you, not anymore. Even when I kiss you, all I can think about is burying myself inside of you. But you naked in front of me? Too much, Kendall. When you strip down for me, I want it to be when you’re ready to let me have you. Otherwise, it’s better if I don’t know what I’m missing out on.”
Looking filled with remorse, she waved her hands. “Okay. I get it. I’m sorry…for interrupting.”
“Go back to bed. I’ll be right there.”
After Kendall left, I closed my eyes in regret. Was I crazy for turning her away like that?
Now that she knew what I was up to in here, I couldn’t relax. Still needing release like a motherfucker, I turned on the shower and got in. Ironically, I jerked myself to thoughts of her naked body against the bathroom door and imagined she was watching me.
Fuck my life.
