Brooke's life has been a series of choices that were taken away from her and she still suffers the after-effects. Being in control is now very important to her. Caleb is used to taking control and handling everything. His life is surrounded b paparazzi, toxic people, and expectations. She prefers a quiet life. Can they really survive a Cinderella fairy tale?

Caleb Blackstone...sigh...he is a swoon-worthy hero. He is not the typical, arrogant rich jerk. He is a man of means used to getting anything he wants, and people listen. He is also a gentleman, caring, protective, and supportive, but still exudes strength and charisma. He never wavers in his devotion or plans. He knows exactly what he wants and is persistent enough to see it through. But he has to be wary of pushing too hard and risk scaring her away.

Brooke has more issues due to fears, trust, and her past. She feels the need to protect herself at times. But she is sweet, loving, and has an inner strength about her. But she does not really fit into the world he was born into.

This couple is just such a good match despite their differences. Their bond and passion are strong, and they actually communicate and understand each other. There are some surprises and some challenges, but it is really just a really romantic story without an abundance of angst and drama. There are definitely some challenges and some past issues. But it really is just a heartwarming read about true love, fate, and following your heart.

This book is engaging and flows so well.  I became easily engrossed in  this American Blackstone world. It is told in both of their points of view. It introduces the Blackstone siblings Lucas, Wyatt, Willow, and Winter and their close friends James and Victoria. Raine Miller has managed to create a whole new family with unique personalities, interesting dynamics, strong bonds, and secrets. I am already interested in the couplings to follow since some have been teased.
