From New York Times Bestseller, Corinne Michaels, comes a new second chance standalone romance.
I spent twenty years waiting for Trent Hennington to open his eyes and see me. But it was all for nothing. He chose to keep himself guarded and let me walk away, proving that my time and efforts were wasted.
I'm done being invisible.
It's time to move on.
A single dance sets my new reality into motion, and I welcome it. After all, Cooper Townsend is perfect. He's kind, sexy, and attentive--everything a girl could want.
I thought I got it right this time. That my heart could mend, and I would be happy. Apparently, some things really are just too hard to walk away from.
Cooper is ready to take his chance with Grace. He is her best friend's brother and has also been there her whole life. He is caring, attentive, funny, and determined to win her heart. Will he be able to show her that love can be easy and no so much work?
Trent has taken it for granted that Grace will always be there. But he is now realizing how serious she is and this might really mean he loses her for good. He has to make some tough decisions. He's been letting demons eat at him and keep him from being open and vulnerable with her, and that has also kept him from committing. Can he finally convince her of his sincerity or will this finally be the end?
There is a lot of back and forth, confusion, jealousy, heartache, fights, and make-ups. But it all comes down to who Grace thinks will be the best man for her. It is her turn to decide what she wants, needs, and who will be the man to give her the future and family.
This was told in mostly Grace's points of view, but I found myself looking forward to the chapters in Trent's point of view. I love Corinne Michaels' books. She creates these interesting, flawed and dynamic characters and makes you fall in love them...even when sometimes you want to throttle them. There is always drama, angst, longing, fighting, and heartbreak that keeps you on edge and sometimes drives you crazy amidst the swoony and passionate moments. She can make you laugh, get angry, and cry in rapid succession. She throws in surprises and twists. But in the end she makes it all worth it. I feel like I have been on an emotional journey with the characters and couldn't help but smile my way through the epilogue. This series and these characters are just so embedded in my heart now. I enjoy their banter, dynamics, and how they both taunt and support each other. I really enjoyed this story and cannot wait for more from this author.
Overall, a sweet story. There is a lot of back and forth, miscommunication, heartache, and longing. But there is also warmth, compassion, friendship, and a whole lot of history. Once again, Corinne Michaels has pulled me into the world of the Hennington brothers, and made me like the one brother I wasn’t sure I could like.

Grace Rooney has loved Trent Hennington for twenty years, but she can never seem to capture his whole heart or all of him for her own on a consistent basis. As she sees her friends settling down, she realizes she needs to let go and try to move on. And a lifeline comes unexpectedly from her old friend, Cooper Townsend.
Cooper is ready to take his chance with Grace. He is her best friend's brother and has also been there her whole life. He is caring, attentive, funny, and determined to win her heart. Will he be able to show her that love can be easy and no so much work?

Trent was such a dichotomy. He really could push her away and hurt her. He was adept at avoiding and running. But he also had a really good heart and really loved her. He was not a cheater or playboy. His issues were internalized and kept him from fully giving himself to her. But the dance between them had lasted for twenty years! And Cooper was a good, charismatic, and sweet guy who understood her needs and wants. He was strong, determined, and willing to pursue her and fight for her.
Grace was sweet and caring, but sassy too. She realized she needed to finally put herself first and stop chasing Trent and hoping he would change. But deep down she was confused, hurt, and it was hard to reconcile giving up on a twenty year old love. But she also knew she deserved a chance at real happiness and was willing to try to move forward and explore what she might have been missing. This is where it gets down to the nitty gritty. Each man has a case and wants to be heard. But ultimately she has to make her choice and do what she needs to do in order for them to have a chance at succeeding. And life isn't always easy. Challenges are bound to occur, and coping mechanisms and commitment will always be tested.

They all had history together and their families and friends were all intertwined in their small town of Bell Buckle. So no matter which man won, they would have to deal with the consequences and live in peace. And all of the townspeople have their opinion and want to help bring the right couple together. I enjoyed getting more with Zach, Presley, Wyatt, and Angie from the first two books. I would like to see another book for the man who does not end up with Grace in this one.

Grace Rooney has held on to her relationship with Trent Hennington for 20 years. Through ups and downs, she was happy as long as she had hope that he would one day open up to her. But one dance has her rethinking everything she thought she wanted, and when longtime friend, Cooper Townsend gives her an out, she takes it. Maybe it’s time to move on.
Cooper is the perfect gentleman. He was interested in Grace, but held off out of respect for his friend. Can his perfection make Grace forget all the pain she’s feeling? Because she is sure if she can forget she can move on.
There is so much going on between all three main characters. Most of the story is told from Grace’s perspective, which really works because she is the linchpin that will decide what happens next. The chapters from Cooper and Trent’s perspectives, though, give great insight to both men as they take each new step. At times the triangle aspect almost became too much. It frustrated me that Trent waited until there was competition to try to change his behavior.
There were some great surprise twists in the plot, especially as Wyatt & Angie, and Zach and Presley’s stories continue in the background of this one.

One word.
Stay.
It was all he had to do. Instead, he got on that bus and took my heart with him.
That was seventeen years ago.
I moved on. Marriage. Kids. White picket fence. Everything I ever wanted, but my husband betrayed me and I was left once again.
Alone, penniless, and with two boys, I had no choice but to return to Tennessee. He wasn’t supposed to be there. I should’ve been safe. However, fate has a way of stepping in.
This time around, the tables are turned. It’s my decision. Second chances do exist, but I don’t know if we can repair what’s already been broken . . .

There’s no way I’ll fall for Wyatt Hennington.
He can keep his Southern drawl, irresistible smile, and those pick-up lines all to himself. I made the mistake of sleeping with him not once, but twice. I’m not stupid enough to give him round three, especially after he left me in the middle of the night so I could see myself out. I vow to return to Philadelphia and forget him.
It proves easier said than done.
When the doctor informs me I’m the winner of door prize number two, I put my life on hold and head back to Bell Buckle. Three months and if we can’t make this work, I’m gone.
The problem is—when the cards are stacked against us, and I can’t bring myself to leave him, I’ll finally know if he truly loves me or if all my fears were real . . .
