Review Blitz: Mister Moneybags: Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward
Release Date April 10, 2017
I met Bianca in an elevator.
She was on her way to interview me when we got stuck.
The beautiful, raven-haired reporter assumed I was a delivery guy because of the way I was dressed.
She had no clue I was really Dex Truitt, the wealthy, successful businessman she’d dubbed “Mister Moneybags”—her afternoon appointment.
Bianca told me how much she hated Dex’s type—snobby, over educated, silver- spooned men who didn't appreciate the simple things in life.
So, after the elevator finally started moving again, I cancelled the interview and let her believe I was someone I wasn’t—a bike messenger named Jay. I loved the way she looked at the fake me and didn't want it to end.
I began dating her as “Jay”—all the while letting her interview the real me over email.
I didn’t expect that our chemistry online would be just as hot.
I didn’t expect the mess I’d gotten myself into.
I didn’t expect that Jay and Dex would fall in love with her.
And she was falling for two men.
Only, both men were me.
And when she found out, we were both going to lose her.
Nothing could have prepared me for that day. And I certainly wasn't prepared for what came after.
All good things must come to an end, right? Except our ending was one I didn't see coming.

Well this book was more than I expected. It started with a unique premise and kept going with some twists. It drew me right in with fun, flirtiness and angst, and then brought out so much tension and so many feels.
When Bianca meets a man in an elevator during an outage, she does not hold back her opinion about the wealthy business owner she was on her way up to interview...she calls him "Mister Moneybags" and is full of preconceived notions about the mysterious, wealthy CEO. In an attempt to get to knew her better, Dex "Mister Moneybags" Pruitt himself makes a snap decision to lie about his true identity, and his alter ego "Jay--the bike messenger" is born. Jay pursues her and likes going out with her. But he feels bad for the lies that are stacking up.
At the same time Bianca begins email exchanges with her interview assignment, Dexter Pruitt., since she never made her face to face interview. Their chats turn friendlier and flirtier as they increase in frequency. She begins to realize that maybe she was wrong about her judgment of the man.
So now Dex is competing with himself for her affections and is jealous of his own alter ego. He's created a situation where his girl is falling for two men, but they are both him. And she may have trust issues already especially about liars. It is one big convoluted mess that he just keeps digging himself in deeper.

The risk of exposure and losing her because of his lies is high. How would he ever regain her trust and get another chance once the truth is out? And the situation just keeps getting more and more complicated and hard to control. And it is possible there are some things that a relationship might not be able to come back from.
I really loved Dex (and Jay). He was smart, charming, sexy, but he was also vulnerable and awkward and relationships. He had me smiling and laughing at his misadventures, self talk, and heart-to-heart discussions with the dog. He was just just so endearing, but was also an alpha male at the same time.
And Bianca was sassy and sweet. She had some insecurities and was opinionated. But she was a good match and challenge for him.
The side characters played important roles in the development of the story. It had more layers and twists than I was expecting. It was funny, flirty, and frustrating. But then was also tense, emotional, surprising, and swoony. They had tons of sexual tension and chemistry, but it did not rely on sex scenes to fill up the story. It was about so much more. I become really invested and attached. I swear I couldn't breathe a couple of times. My heart just hurt. I was so tense. I couldn't wait to see how it was all going to progress and end up. It was quite an intense and emotional ride and a unique story.
There were some really good messages woven into the story line like living life to the fullest and the importance of honesty. Dex and Bianca's story was unconventional and was quite a bumpy ride. But with every road block I just seemed to get more invested. And by the end I was surprised about how much the story had migrated from the beginning and from what I initially expected. But I loved it and I could not put it down.

A case of mistaken identity causes Dex Pruitt to create an alter ego, “Jay”, and finds Bianca George conducting her interview via email with Dex while she goes on dates with Jay. In an elevator on the way to interview a wealthy CEO, Bianca has a near panic attack with a bike messenger in audience. Luckily, the messenger turns out to be far more engaging than the millionaire who blew her off after making her wait 45 minutes.
The situations between these two were light and fun. I loved watching as Dex began feeling jealous towards Jay, who was in fact himself! I loved the play and the drama that came about because of Dex’s split personalities.
As Dex’s feelings for Bianca grow, he finds himself caught in the web of his own design, unsure what will happen when he finally tells her the truth. Rebuilding her trust will be difficult if not impossible.
As the capers continue, the depth of the story surprised me. There were twists I was not expecting, and as secrets and connections came to light things made so much more sense, even as they had me reading with rapt attention to find resolution.
