ABOUT WANDERLUST:
They say Paris is always a good idea...
You know what I say? Paris would be a much better idea if I spoke the dang language. I can't even board the metro to visit the Louvre without ending up at the Moulin Rouge, and let's not even mention how I'll ever make it through a day at my new office.
Fortunately my company hooks me up with my own personal translator. Ooh la la. Or should I say bloody hell? Because he's charming, witty, and British, and he brings the city to life for me. Soon, I can order a croque monsieur hold the ham, discuss perfume with my co-workers, and barter at the outdoor market. I can also tell the sexy Brit by my side how much I want him to kiss me under the streetlamps.
Except there's a catch - Paris might be all we have.
***
One more assignment before I can take off on my big adventure...
And it's a good farewell gig too since my newest client is a fetching American who loves to explore the cafes and cobbled streets while I teach her the language of love. We fall into a fast and flirty friendship, but Paris has a way of making lovers out of friends, and soon we're spending our nights together too - très risqué. The trouble is, my wanderlust is calling to me, and soon I'll be traveling the globe to fulfill a promise I made long ago.
What could possibly go wrong with falling in love in Paris? Nothing...unless one of you is leaving.

Don’t miss this message from Richard Armitage about Wanderlust!

This is probably Lauren Blakely's swooniest, dreamiest, and most romantic and beautiful love story to date. The Parisian setting is as enchanting as the characters themselves.

Joy Danvers-Lively is going on a much anticipated adventure to Paris for a new job and a new life. She's ready to leave her past behind and live her life on her terms. She's sassy, vivacious, smart, creative, and energetic. But it is hard  navigating a new foreign city with limited use of the language .

Griffin Thomas is her new translator and he is British.  He has his own plans and dreams to follow through on after he finishes this last extended translation assignment. He's funny, charming, handsome, and easy-going...and that accent...

They develop a fun, flirty rapport as he tries to help her with the French language. They try to be friends, to resist the pull, and not act on their attraction. Neither was looking for a relationship, but Paris is the City of Love...

His flirty, dirty words in an English accent or in French. Ooh-freakin-la-la! He is adorably sexy, thoughtful, and romantic. But he is a man of his word and has made promises he needs to keep. And Joy just has this zest for life and an awareness of the world around her. She is likable and relatable. Together they have oodles of sexual tension that just keeps building. The moments when they are vulnerable, letting down guards on their hearts, and daring to dream touched my heart the most.

But they have a set time limit, different plans and dreams. They don't want to hold the other back. Their time together is intimate and magical, but scheduled to come to an end with no easy resolution for them both to be able to accomplish their dreams.

This story is told in dual points of view so vividly that I could almost see, taste, and smell it. Paris came alive. I felt like I was on vacation with this hot man showing me the city and speaking French. It made me crave chocolate and pastries. The connection between the characters was intimate and well developed. Their back stories had difficulties and pain that had shaped them and their choices. I just fell in love with them and the treasures of the city. But these two have new choices to make and there are no easy answers.

I liked their respective friends Elise and Christian. They both had interesting personalities and I would love to see them explored more in  a future story  and to get more in this setting.

This is a captivating, sweet, witty, and swoony romance between an American and a Brit in Paris. It's about living life to the fullest, pushing boundaries, taking chances, and finding your own place in the world.
I was drawn right into their experiences and felt I lived it with them. And I enjoyed it all. Now I really need some pastries and chocolate...seriously!

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review. This review is based on ecopy, not on audible, but I imagine with the amazing narrators it will come even more alive. I get goosebumps just listening to Richard Armitage's voice.
