Doug and Sophie from the International Bestselling book, The Dance get to tell their own crazy, sexy, love story.

Sophie is an intelligent independent woman. After her parents’ divorce when she was a child, Sophie tossed the idea of “happily ever after” out the window. No personal attachments or commitments is the way she lives her life. After her best friend, Bryson reunited with her soulmate Hart, Sophie is forced to allow his friends into her world. Luckily, she is fond of her new circle of friends, except when it comes to one handsome, six foot, green eyed buffoon who won’t take no for an answer . . . Doug Truman.

Doug is everything women want in a man. He is a self-described hottie, very witty, and quite the charmer. He can’t imagine any woman not wanting his attention. And they do. The problem is, Doug has a very short attention span, except when it comes to one woman . . . Sophie Cipriano. At first all he wanted was one night, thinking it would be enough to shake his obsession. If only his best friend, Hart, hadn’t deemed Sophie off limits. Now Doug can’t get her off his mind or out of his system.

When they met, they were enemies. When their best friends got married, they were acquaintances. When they became roommates, they got to be friends. And when they were friends, neither realized what was happening until it was too late.

Alison G. Bailey’s done it again! And this time she's taken Contemporary Romance by storm and made it her b&*%^! Bailey knocked this book so far out of the park, she hit a grand slam with Sophie and Doug.

Crazy Sexy Love was all kinds of awesome sauce.

S & D rocked my socks with their witty banter, laugh out loud conversations, pursuit, awkward and amusing antics, sexual tension, and what the f&*% moments. This duo was exactly what I didn't know I needed.

So in case you didn’t hear me the first three times…

Crazy Sexy Love has an "enemies to lovers" theme. Sophie's not the biggest fan of Doug’s. Doug’s definitely a big fan of Sophie’s, well her body any ways. Which leads us on one hell of an entertaining merry go round. Doug’s determined to reach his end game; Sophie naked—one way or another. Sophie, on the other hand, isn’t having it. Her end game's aborting his at all costs, even if Doug's come close.

I truly don’t know who I'm more anxious for you to meet!

Sophie’s the type of chick you’ll be wanting to make your best friend. I absolutely adored this vivacious, badass woman. She’s a true blue smartass who holds nothing back. Nada. She suffers from a case of mouth works faster than brain syndrome. She’s not afraid to get down and dirty. And you’ll soon find out she can be as crass and crude as her male counterpart. Not to mention, she’s got confidence. Lots of it. I mention this because with this confidence comes a strong, independent character who knows her own worth. She isn’t a doormat. Nor does she allow Doug to treat her like one. Thank you, Ms. Bailey!

And then there's Doug, our resident man-child. The star of the show. Who admittedly will drive you a bit batty, at times. Hang in there with him, though. I promise he'll show you a man you weren’t even close to expecting. Look past the frat boy persona. I was definitely not immune to his cocky and quirky personality. He’s playful and flirty. He’s crude. He's smart. He's crude. He's loyal. He's crude. Notice a trend...*laughing* You’ll find him very unapologetic in this. He doesn’t take anything serious. He has a one track mind. Sex. Or so it will seem. Trust me, when I tell you that Doug has so much more to him than meets the eye. He's also caring, gentle, lovable and sweet.

I've totally got a new book boyfriend obsession, and I'm fangirling so hard right now but I can’t help it. Doug's become hands down my favorite hero of Ms. Bailey’s. Seriously, he's something else. I truly never saw him coming. I am a Hart girl. However, D stealthily moved in and intertwined himself with my heart.

Individually these two will have you engaged, but together they'll have you enamored and devouring the pages. They're two peas in a pod and all kinds of savage! Neither lacked ego and self worth. But both loved their people something fierce. Soph and Doug were perfectly imperfect. Their connection and chemistry cheeky and palpable. Their friendship slow growing with a crap ton of speed bumps. But beyond that, this couple was real. They were believable and they represented your everyday relationship. All of us will find that we can relate to them in some shape or form.

I hope you love them both as much as I have.

We met Doug and Sophie in The Dance when their best friends Hart and Bryson got together. And for five years they have been in the same social circle driving each other crazy and exhibiting some serious sexual tension. They taunt, tease, and pretend like they don't like each other. But at the same time, they have their place in their group and it is by default with the other.

Sophie is smart, successful, sassy, stubborn, and sassy. She is independent, closed off, and thrives on control. She presents a hard facade and does not let many see her softer, more insecure and vulnerable core. She does not do relationships and has her reasons.

Doug is handsome, talkative, goofy, funny, and unpredictable. He has been attracted to Sophie since their first meeting and has been persistent in his pursuit. He usually can pick up just about any woman he wants, except Sophie. He is used to getting shot down by her, but hasn't give up hope of at least getting to explore their pent up passion. He is also charming, thoughtful, and loyal with those he cares about, but he has never been one for relationships or more than one-nighters.

When Doug is in need of a place to stay, he sort of ambushes his way into Sophie's place. And that begins a whole new era in their not-a-relationship. They spar, joke, flirt, fuss, and fret. Their dynamics seem to be ever changing from enemies to friends to friends-with-benefits to feelings that neither of them are sure how to handle. No matter how many rules Sophie wants to follow, Doug blurs things outside the lines.

Darn him for being sweet, caring, and understanding. And flashing that body and getting her all excited. And making her laugh and taking care of her. But Sophie's got some deep insecurities and fears that can't really be faced and dealt with unless she is willing to open up and share them. And Doug is certainly not perfect or skilled at relationships either, and often manages to say the wrong thing. But he has a big heart and loves the times when he can make her happy.

But is he tenacious enough to really crack her tough shell and will she actually allow him to be the protector of her heart? And if so, is he ready to take hold of it?

This is a rom-com that had me smiling and cracking up over some of the situations and things that came out of their mouths. These two are witty, fun, silly, passionate, adorable, and sometimes awkward. But it was also steamy, emotional, and swoony. I enjoyed getting more with Hart, Bryson, Ronnie, Julia, and Colin. They added comic relief and a strong support system. I loved her grandmother, Nonnina. I really liked Doug and Sophie together and the fact that it was a slow build and that neither really thought it would actually happen...nor did their friends. Even though their attraction was the worst kept secret in their group.

Alison G. Bailey creates characters that feel real. They are a bit flawed and make mistakes. They say what they think. They have anxiety and insecurities. They have issues they need to deal with. And she creates dynamic relationships with many facets to them. This is a love story and a friends story and even a self-love story.

Doug and Sophie have been part of the same group of friends for years. Now that their respective best friends are married, they are spending a lot more time together, something Doug doesn’t mind at all but Sophie finds frustrating.

Doug is the kind of guy that doesn’t take anything seriously, and loves all kind of antics. Sophie knows herself and what she wants, and though she thinks a turn with Doug would be fun, it would be too messy since they wouldn’t be able to avoid each other afterwards.

When Doug shows up on Sophie’s door needing a place to stay, she should have turned him away, because now that he is in her space she finds herself contemplating giving in to his requests. Besides, if no one else knows, then they can go back to just begin friends when he goes back to his own place. Right?

Their banter is fantastic, and had me grinning through much of the book. They are each intelligent, confident personalities and their conversations showed the depth of their characters, but Doug was always ready with a quip (or innuendo) as the situation demanded. Their chemistry resonated not just in the wit they threw at each other but also in their reactions as their proximity changed and they found themselves together in close quarters.

This was a hilarious rom-com with great friendships, backstory, and outrageous scenarios that had me laughing out loud. I loved that we got more from each character than just their surface stories. The side characters were great to revisit, in the case of Hart and Bryson, but were also great additions, as in the case of Sophie’s grandmother.

The Dance is the story of what happens after the happily ever.

Bryson Walker stumbled heart first into the steady rhythm of her life, never questioning whether other possibilities existed. She had been Will’s girl since their junior year in high school, followed him to college, and married him soon after graduation.

In every respect, they were a loving and successful couple, until a series of missteps shattered all of Bryson’s truths. Maybe their life was nothing more than smoke and mirrors. A performance that was never based in reality.

Hart was barely an acquaintance. He and Bryson shared one brief moment during senior prom, full of friction and heat that ignited a spark. But that night Bryson walked away and Hart let her go.

Years later, twisted fate brings Bryson and Hart together again, causing her to wonder if this is her second chance at once in a lifetime.
