From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new, sexy STANDALONE novel.

We met in the least likely of places. It started out innocently enough. I was “ScreenGod” and she was “Montana,” but of course, those weren’t our actual names, just the virtual cloaks we hid behind.

Logging in at night and talking to her was my escape—my sanctuary.

Her real name was Eden, I’d soon come to find out.

From the first time we connected online, I found myself transfixed.

She was an addiction.

At first, we knew nothing about each other’s real identities…and she was adamant that we keep things that way. Anonymity had no effect on our unstoppable chemistry, though. If anything, it allowed us to open up even more in ways we may not have otherwise.

Eden was funny, intelligent, gorgeous—everything I’d ever wanted in a woman.

But I couldn’t really have her. I had accepted things would have to stay the way they were—until the day I found a clue that led me straight to her.

So I took a chance.

And that was when our love story really began.
This review is going to be low on details to make it spoiler free.

This is a story about two people who met at the right time, but under completely wrong circumstances. The fact that they connected online at all was really a fluke. But somehow they found this connection that they could not find anywhere else.

Ryder NcNamara looks like he has it all...but he is just going through the motions. He could have any woman he wants, but none seem to appeal to him. Eden is just doing what she has to do in order to make due. She is beautiful, talented, and quite a distraction for him.

I loved Ryder. He was charming, thoughtful, and caring. Seeing him begin to anticipate and feel again was heartwarming. And Eden was a strong woman who was just doing what she needed to do. But she did not have much faith and trust that she would find a true love that would really be there for her.

They were never really supposed to meet. And their circumstances seemed complicated and challenging. Different locations, obligations,  lifestyles, and financial situations. They both had some issues from their pasts that affected them. She had every reason to be wary and try to keep her real life private.

But what happens when online is not enough for one determined man?

This was a sweet, sexy, emotional, long distance romance. Unique elements to the story created challenges. There were also some things in the storyline that gave it more depth, drama, and emotion. I enjoyed the side characters especially one in particular that was a total scene stealer.

Even though it pushed boundaries and sometimes the subject matter was even a bit uncomfortable, the whole idea of finding love online is relevant and current today. I enjoyed the dual points of view and really liked both of the main characters. I read it in one sitting and did not want to put it down.

They didn’t meet under traditional circumstances online. This was no dating app matchup, nor did they use their real names for a long time. But Ryder and Eden’s online relationship grew during their late night chats with only 1 sided video.

Ryder doesn’t usually turn to online resources for attention from women, but something about Montana/Eden captures his attention in a way no woman ever has. I loved his curiosity and his willingness to try new things for her.

Eden is one of those characters you can’t help but love. She is doing what she has to in order to keep things together at home. It isn’t what she imagined, but it is working and that is all that matters to her. She is loyal, sweet, and determined to be self-sufficient.

When the challenge of long distance and online only isn’t enough, will they take the chance to try to make their love work offline?

There were a couple instances where the story’s circumstances had me feeling uncomfortable about the situation, it almost felt like a stalker situation because of the way communication was happening. But it didn’t last long and the sweetness of Eden and Ryder together overcame any of my initial discomfort.

Long distance, online, and anonymous can only last for so long. Ryder and Eden have more to work out than just location though, when they decide to try more than online. This was a sweet story with a fun set of characters. It was a smooth read that kept me turning pages with anticipation. Their unique meeting online could only mean an entertaining journey for their future.
