From the time I was a kid, I knew I wanted a job helping people. After serving in the Rifles regiment of the British Army, I focused my civilian career on becoming a bodyguard to the rich and famous. For a Cockney Brit, I never imagined a twist of fate landing me a position in the United States Secret Service and protecting the President’s son. But then my boss made an unexpected request: leave my current placement to move in with his only daughter to give an added layer of protection against the threats she had been receiving. I’d never lived with a woman who was off-limits to me. It wasn’t just that Caroline had a boyfriend. She was my best friend’s sister, and my boss’s daughter. But the longer we’re in such close quarters together, the greater the temptation grows, but I know I'll lose everything if I pursue her.

Growing up as the only girl and with two overbearing older brothers, I’m no stranger to being overprotected. Just as I finished up college and prepared to truly dip my toes into the adult world, my father was elected President of the United States, which added a whole new level of protection with the Secret Service team attached to me. Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly be more smothered, I began receiving threats, and my family decided it wasn’t enough to just have an agent living down the hall from me. Nope, I was to have one move in with me, and not just any agent, but Ty Frasier—my brother, Barrett’s best friend, and my brother, Ty’s, head agent. While most women would enjoy living with a sexy, buff Brit, having a roommate threw a wrench into all my plans. Especially when I began noticing Ty was so much more than a hot guy.

Caroline Callahan was just about ready to start her new career and new life in a new place. She had it all planned out...until her plans were changed due to circumstances out of her control.

Ty Fraser has been friend and bodyguard to both of her older brothers, Barrett and Thorn. He is honorable, dependable, and vigilant. And now he is being asked to take on Caroline's security due to a threat. That means not only following her to Virginia, but they want him to have full access...as in living with her.

The stubborn spitfire Caroline is not happy and she does not think her boyfriend will be either. Ty is not that pleased himself. But sometimes you have to do what you have to do...and Ty will do just about anything for the Callahans.

But being roomies takes some adjustment, and dealing with the threat is more challenging than they hoped. Close quarters, sexual tension, escalating emotions, and fear add to the confusion and conflict.
They both know they should be off limits due to circumstances. He tries to be the stoic Secret Service Agent, but his body seems to want to overrule his mind. And Caroline's life is going through both positive and negative changes at the same time and she is just trying to keep it all together while keeping her hands off her sexy bodyguard.

But eventually all of the tension, sexual and otherwise, is going to come to a boil and possibly explode. What will be the fall out as they navigate the changes and the danger still lurking around Caroline?

This is a sexy, fun, and swoony best-friend's-sister/room mates/forbidden love story. Even though this works fine as a stand-alone, I enjoyed getting more with the other Callahans: Barrett, Addison, Thorn, and Isabel and the Presidential parents. I really liked both Ty and Caroline, and I thought they were perfect together despite their challenges. Ty was so strong, capable, heroic, hot, and swoonworthy. I loved seeing him start to come out of his strong facade and show more vulnerability and familiarity. And Caroline was sassy, smart, and real. I enjoyed their banter and chemistry. They were magic together!

Caroline Callahan is preparing to start a new career, but the carefully laid plans she has are derailed when a threat causes her to need an increased Secret Service detail. But even with a threat out there, she isn’t the type to hide away. She is determined to continue on with her new job as planned, if with a different roommate than originally planned.

Ty Fraser has been working with the Callahan family for years, becoming friends with both of the President’s sons over the years. When the only Callahan daughter needs increased protection, Ty is the family’s first choice to step up and not participate as part of her protection team, but to provide on site protection as her roommate.

Caroline is such a strong character. She knows what she wants and doesn’t want her life to change even with an unknown threat out there. She doesn’t want to be sheltered, and wants to know what is going on around her.

I loved the chemistry between these two. With a slow build up as they became accustomed to living together, the friendship that build first was a safe place for Caroline in spite of all the changes going on in her life.

This was a fun, sexy read with just a bit of suspense wrapped up in it. Ty and Caroline have a double edged challenge of each doing the jobs they love while dealing with unexpected challenges and a new roommate situation. It was fun seeing the rest of the Callahan family again, checking in on life again in the White House.
