My name is Courtney Jane Salinger...
and I'm sick of games.
Sick of the Friday night bar-scene-cum-meat-market.
Sick of the boy-girl, man-woman, mars-venus, flirtation-without-expectation, game-playing nonsense.
Sick of awful dates and one-night stands, booty calls and guys who don’t call back, mixed messages or NO messages and—and—and...I'm sick of all of it.
I’m done.
I just can't do it anymore.
It's too hard, and worse: little by little, it's making me hard.
It's breaking my heart.
What do I want?
That's easy.
I want a house in suburbia with a white picket fence.
I want babies to buckle into a minivan.
But most of all, I want to be married.
I want a husband.
So I've made an important decision: I'm making my escape from the dating world and the single life.
I've filled out my application on ArrangeMe.com and I'm putting my fate into the hands of experts.
Is it a little scary?
Sure.
I mean, I have no idea who I'll end up with.
After all, I'm planning to marry a complete stranger.
But between you and me?
I can't wait.
Being arranged can't possibly be worse than being single.
For those of you, like me, that get suckered into reality tv matchmaking shows, this book is for you! It takes the premise of Married at First Sight and throws in some curve balls.
Courtney Jane Salinger is done with dating. She is tired of dealing with all the flirty, dirty men and relationships going nowhere. She knows just where she wants to go and that is down the aisle. So she is taking matters into her own hands and applying to be matched online with her new husband-to-be. She is open, sweet, a bit desperate, and committed to this new process. And she is stubborn, so no matter how many people try to convince her otherwise she seems dead set on following through.
But sometimes life changes when you are making plans. And Courtney is forced to take some hard looks at her decision and decide if it is what she really wants. Because by opening this new door, she is fully closing another. She has no clue is will be waiting at the end of the aisle, but does know that it will totally change her life.

This was a sweet, funny, and romantic story told in dual points of view. There are some fun surprises. I really liked the characters' personalities, banter, and chemistry, and I was rooting for them to have all their dreams come true in the end. But since this is the first part in a duet, they still have a bit more to deal with before their HEA. But I was still satisfied enough at the point it ended in this book not to feel totally cheated.
I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Courtney Jane Salinger is set in her decision. She is tired of wasting time dating with no promise of a future. She has made a decision that is unpopular with her family and friends. But she is determined to be done with dating and find her match.
But life doesn’t always work out as planned, and she meets someone unexpected after she has committed to her arrangement plan. But her commitment is strong, and so she decides to stick with her original plan and forget about what might have been.
There is so much angst in this story, as Courtney makes her decisions and then wonders what if with someone she has known for quite some time. He knows her plans and doesn’t agree with them, hoping she will hold off on her unconventional plan in order to give them a chance. But she is stubborn and has already made that decision. In that way, I had a hard time connecting to Courtney. She was so focused on going through with the arrangement, that she was willing to give up the chance at something with someone new. But even as she frustrated me at times, I loved Josh and the way he quietly became a part of her life.
This was a cute premise with a lot of fun built into the story. I loved getting to know these characters and their stories. As the first in a duet, there is plenty more for them to work through and I look forward to seeing where their decisions take them next.
