The New York Times bestselling author of Rainy Day Friends and Lost and Found Sisters returns to Wildstone, California...

Brooke Lemon has always led the life she wanted, wild adventures—and mistakes—included, something her perfect sister, Mindy, never understood. So when Mindy shows up on Brooke’s doorstep in the throes of a break-down with her three little kids in tow, Brooke’s shocked.

Wanting to make amends, Brooke agrees to trade places, taking the kids back to Wildstone for a few days so Mindy can pick up the pieces and put herself back together. What Brooke doesn’t admit is she’s just as broken . . . Also how does one go home after seven years away? It doesn’t take long for Brooke to come face-to-face with her past, in the form of one tall, dark, sexy mistake. But Garrett’s no longer interested. Only his words don’t match his actions, leaving Brooke feeling things she’d shoved deep.

Soon the sisters begin to wonder: Are they lemons in life? In love? All they know is that neither seems to be able to run far enough to outpace her demons. And when secrets surface, they’ll have to learn that sometimes the one person who can help you the most is the one you never thought to ask.
This book centers around two estranged sisters and two romances...one a second-chance romance and one a reconnection of a married couple.

Brooke Lemon  left her hometown of Wildstone for LA and she distanced herself from her family and her first love. She was the adventure-seeking and free spirited sister despite her OCD tendencies. But then an event changed her life and she is still dealing with the repercussions. If she does not let anyone in, then she does not have to face the issues. So she has just been existing rather than really living.

Her sister, Mindy shows up on her doorstep and basically states she needs a mental health break from her own busy mommy, wife, and career life. Mindy has always been the super organized, in control sister with the apparent perfect life, but she is now struggling. So Brooke ends up taking her kids and going back to Wildstone for the first time in years and lets her sister chill out in LA.

She was not really prepared for her welcome wagon. Garrett Montgomery is still the boy next door that was her best friend and first love...and the man she left when things got hard. He was never privy to all of her reasons so still holds a grudge.  He is guarded and locked down his heart when she left.

Brooke and Garrett are a hot mess. She is finally explaining her motives and issues, and they are sorting through their past. But they also cannot seem to stop the chemistry between them. And they both know they are a bad idea. They both have reinforced their hearts, do not talk about feelings well, and have poor coping skills. She's a runner and avoider. He is so conditioned to losing people that he has trust and abandonment issues. Even though they are facing their past, they still keep letting fear take over. They both have self worth issues. There is a lot of fight or flight between these two. And they live different lives and this was only supposed to be another temporary stop for Brooke.

Now Mindy and her husband, Linc also have some problems to face. Linc is getting a wake up call about his life and they are trying to get back on track. But he has some work to do in order to get this derailed train back on the tracks. Their three kids are precocious and provide a lot of comic relief. But they all live in barely controlled chaos.

This is also about the rekindling of the sisterly bond between Brooke and Mindy, and for Brooke to get to know her niece and nephews. These sisters are quirky, a bit dramatic, and not really sure what they want. The guys are good men that have their work cut out for them to make these women trust in them and themselves, and to be truly happy with their lives. They all have to be willing to be vulnerable, communicate, and fight for what they want. No one's life is truly perfect, and it's only real if people accept the flaws and imperfections and love anyway. It's about the importance of family, friendships, and forgiveness. It is funny, realistic, angsty,  romantic, and heartfelt.

These are all stand alones

Following the USA Today bestselling author of Lost and Found Sisters comes Jill Shalvis' moving story of heart, loss, betrayal, and friendship

Six months after Lanie Jacobs’ husband’s death, it’s hard to imagine anything could deepen her sense of pain and loss. But then Lanie discovers she isn’t the only one grieving his sudden passing. A serial adulterer, he left behind several other women who, like Lanie, each believe she was his legally wedded wife.

Rocked by the infidelity, Lanie is left to grapple with searing questions. How could she be so wrong about a man she thought she knew better than anyone? Will she ever be able to trust another person? Can she even trust herself?

Desperate to make a fresh start, Lanie impulsively takes a job at the family-run Capriotti Winery. At first, she feels like an outsider among the boisterous Capriottis. With no real family of her own, she’s bewildered by how quickly they all take her under their wing and make her feel like she belongs. Especially Mark Capriotti, a gruffly handsome Air Force veteran turned deputy sheriff who manages to wind his way into Lanie’s cold, broken heart—along with the rest of the clan.

Everything is finally going well for her, but the arrival of River Brown changes all that. The fresh-faced twenty-one-year old seems as sweet as they come…until her dark secrets come to light—secrets that could destroy the new life Lanie’s only just begun to build.
