Review Tour and Giveaway: Dominik: Sawyer Bennett
I built myself up from nothing. A product of the foster care system, I learned early on how to fight hard to get what I want. Whether it was starting my first company in college, earning my first billion, or buying my first professional sports team, I know how to get what I want, when I want it.
Until now.
Willow Monahan is fierce, independent, and hot as hell. She also takes great pleasure in shutting down my advances. The younger sister of one of my star players, Willow intrigues me to my very core. And while she may have willingly given me her body, she is hesitant to offer up more. Now I’m on a mission to find out why.
I’ve decided to approach my desire for Willow like I’ve approached much of my life; with persistence, determination, and a whole lot of that Dominik Carlson alpha charm. Buying a hockey expansion team, building the Arizona Vengeance from the ground up, and bringing home a championship may prove to be an easier feat than winning Willow’s heart.
But I’ve never been a quitter.
I have been waiting for more with the Vengeance team owner, Dominik Carlson and Dax's sister, Willow Monahan. They shared a couple of sexy times and Dominik is in pursuit. But Willow is playing a game of cat and mouse.
Dominik is insanely wealthy, confident, charismatic, generous, and kind-hearted. But he is also a commanding alpha who likes control. He is used to getting what he wants.
Willow is fiercely independent, intelligent, stubborn, and an adrenaline junkie. She thrives in her job as a photographic journalist where she can be put into dangerous situations. But she has walls guarding her heart, fears, and is relationship averse. She enjoyed their quick frolic, but is insistent she does not want more. But he meets her challenge and convinces her to extend their no-strings fun times at least through the playoffs.
But their volatile chemistry and compatibility in the bedroom is not the only attraction. They find themselves connecting and enjoying each other's company as well. But they both have issues with trust, taking risks, and pushing their boundaries. And Willow is strongwilled and does not like being told how to live her life. And she seems to keep herself in denial to avoid facing the hard truths.
It is intense, sexy, and at times emotional. I liked both Dominik and Willow, and enjoyed their dynamic and chemistry. But with that being said they both did frustrate me sometimes and made me want to shake sense into them. Much of their conflict came from fears, trust and communication issues, unclear goals, and sheer stubbornness. And he sometimes seemed to use sex to control her, but also was more aware of his feelings and needs. They definitely challenged and pushed each other, but were not always on the same page. And their reactions could be swift and painful.

This brings back all of the Arizona Vengeance and their significant others, and a visit with the Cold Fury and even some Jameson Security. It is playoff time so hockey is featured more in this one than some of the others. I felt like I was in the owner's box watching the exciting games sometimes. I have come to love this Vengeance group as much as the Cold Fury. I am looking forward to more with Wylde, Kane, and Rafe.
Dominik Carlson, owner of the Arizona Vengeance, knows hardship. His life wasn’t always what he had built in his adulthood. But what he learns from his childhood is persistence, which will serve him well pursuing Willow Monahan, the sister of one of his players.
I’ve been waiting to see exactly what was going on between Dominik and Willow, as they have had moments in the background of previous Vengeance stories, but the only thing that was clear was that Dominik was interested in Willow (much to her brother’s dismay) and she was holding him at arm's length. Their story did not disappoint. These are two very strong characters with a compelling story between them.
Willow is a photojournalist and her assignments are not to safe locations. Her independence and strength is exactly what draws Dominik to her. And while she isn’t interested in a relationship with her brother’s boss, some no-strings fun between assignments could be exactly what she needs.
These two characters are so well matched both in personality and in drive (and it’s not just in the bedroom either). The sparks fly between them, but they both have reasons for being hesitant to jump into a relationship. As they find themselves in what looks more and more like a relationship, their histories are bound to run them into trouble, even as they try to do what feels right.
This had great tie ins to Sawyer’s other series, making the hockey moments even more intense and memorable. There is an element of danger to the story that had me gripping my Kindle as I read through it. I loved the ending, and some of the plot threads have me itching for more from multiple of Bennett’s series.

★ ★ RELEASING FEBRUARY 18 ★ ★
#SaturdaySounds #AudioLove “I’m crazy about you, Willow,” I say softly, bending so I can brush my lips against hers. Pulling back just enough so I can see her again, I continue. “You need to know when all this started, I was on the same exact page you were. It was supposed to be temporary. A fun fling. We’d have a good time, and then we’d move on. But it turned into more."
Those words.
Spoken by Christian Fox.

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released multiple books, many of which have appeared on the New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists.
A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.
Sawyer likes her Bloody Marys strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active daughter, as well as full-time servant to her adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or even better, both.
Sawyer also writes general and women’s fiction under the pen name S. Bennett and sweet romance under the name Juliette Poe.
