My name isn’t Logan Mitchell, but Marcus St. James doesn’t know that…

When I showed up at my roommate’s work party, the last thing I expected was to find a man straight out of my dreams. But when the crowd parted and the fates aligned, there he was, waiting for me. Marcus St. James, president of ENN WorldWide News.

Sexy and powerful, with a stare that could freeze you in place, Marcus was the perfect reward for securing a job at Mitchell & Madison, the best law firm in Chicago. To play with the big fish, however, one must become a big fish, and that’s where my little white lie began.

It was one night. I was never going to see him again, and from the second we spoke, I knew he was interested. It was there in his eyes, the same fire in my veins. It was there in his voice, whenever he said my name.

The only problem? It wasn’t my name, and now I wanted more—much more.

But how can anything good come out of something that started with such bad intentions?

Bad Intentions is the first book in the Intentions Duet.

I ended up loving Gabe and Marcus, but I will say the beginning and premise kind of frustrated me. I am not a big fan of lying about identity. And I think it bothered me even more because he was lying about being one of my favorite, very married characters, Logan Mitchell. So it had the potential to be a disaster.

But the bad intentions are dealt with and as the story progressed I bought into it more. And along the way, I came to adore Gabe Romero. He is so charming, flirty, confident, bold, and determined that it is hard not to like him. I just wanted him to have it all.

And Marcus St. James has always been a bit of a mystery and enigma. He is intimidating, private, stoic, coolheaded, and completely a work-a-holic as the head of ENN Worldwide New. So seeing the way red hot Gabe gets under his skin and makes him behave uncharacteristically is fun. He lights up his life and gives him glimpses of fun and passion.

There are deals and debt to handle, and plenty of challenges to face...many that are in Marcus's head. Their lives and personalities seem opposite and there is a significant age gap. Marcus is a man set in his ways and does not see himself as relationship material. Gabe has more depth to him than it initially appeared.

It's fast-paced, sarcastic, sexy, and smile-inducing. This is a bit of a game of cat and mouse with these two. The chemistry and connection between them is undeniable...even when Marcus tries. But it seems like resistance is futile and they keep ending up getting in deeper. But there are challenges, priorities, and unexpected wants and feelings starting to emerge that make it messier. And Gabe might be younger and less established, and he is not afraid to go after what he wants. And he is also no doormat and is not going to be treated as an afterthought either. So Marcus will have his hands full if he proceeds and it will be interesting to see how it all plays out in the next book, Good Intentions

I also loved getting cameos from some of my favorite people from the Chicagoverse.
