I am going to keep this as vague as possible. It is best to just immerse yourself in it and go with the flow. 

Lucy Dennings humdrum life is about to be totally shaken up. She is usually the quiet, shy, lonely woman who lives vicariously through books but is too afraid to step out of her comfort zone and lets those little negative voices hold her back. She longs for love and has felt a void, but is not sure how to get there. 

When Cas shows up in her life, he changes how she sees everything. She has to suspend disbelief and think outside the box.  He pushes her to be her best self and not be afraid. 

On a deadline, they hatch a plan to each help the other. But Lucy does not know the whole truth. And Cas is low on hope and full of guilt. 

This is an intense, emotional, passionate love story that fights time, distance, and personal demons. It is about sacrifice, redemption, forgiveness, inner strength, and fighting for love. There is darkness, but there is also a small light of hope. I was rooting for them to find a way to both get what they needed. 

This world is layered and vivid, a mix of new and old with unique side characters. It is real and unreal, dark and light, harsh and sweet, and generally a powerful experience.  It is obvious the author channeled all of her emotions into this story and the grief, love, and hope bleed off the pages.
