Harlow is on a single-minded mission: meet the man of his dreams by any meet-cute necessary.

All my life, I’ve dreamed of one thing: the perfect movie moment. I want a man and his boombox outside my window; I want kissing in the rain; I want a romantic hero who will take my breath away.

Switching mail with my cute neighbor didn’t work. Swapping coffee with a hottie at the coffee shop just got the poor barista yelled at. And bus guy? Total bust. I’m starting to wonder if Hollywood got the whole meet-cute thing wrong. Sacrilege, I know.

Is it possible the perfect leading man has been living in the apartment above me the entire time, playing the role of my best friend?

Things are about to get very interesting…

***Operation: Meet-cute is a swoony, steamy, best friends to lovers, friends with benefits turned more, laugh out loud story with low angst and plenty of heat.

Harlow is a dreamer. He dreams of directing his own work and mostly of setting up his perfect movie meet-cute to find the perfect fantasy man. But so far things are not working out so well in either department. He loves the idea of love, but actually opening up and being vulnerable scares him.

Teddy is his best friend and upstairs neighbor. They have been there for each other for years. Teddy is successful, dependable, sweet, thoughtful, caring, and loyal. He adores all of Harlow's idiosyncrasies and is totally in love with him. But he needs Harlow to figure that out on his own.

When they take their friendship to a friends-with-benefits situation, things get a bit more complicated. And eventually, Harlow is going to have to open his eyes and see what is right in front of him or really risk losing something good.

Everyone seems to know what is going on except Harlow. I will admit Harlow actually frustrated me with his obliviousness. Even knowing he is afraid, I still just wanted to smack sense into him. Teddy is such a gem and I totally adored him. They are a great pair that both contrast and complement each other in the best of ways. Their friends offer both support and some tough love when needed.

I loved the eighties movies references and nods to classic romcoms. This book has a sense of fun and energy to it that mimics those. But it also takes on a more heartfelt and emotional turn and gives you a bit more than expected. It's a smile-inducing, cute, sexy, sweet, adorkable, and swoony best-friends-to-lovers story with a lot of heart.

K.M. Neuhold is a complete romance junkie, a total sap in every way. She started her journey as an author in new adult, straight romance, but after a chance reading of an MM book she was completely hooked on everything about lovely- and sometimes damaged- men finding their Happily Ever After together.
She has a strong passion for writing characters with a lot of heart and soul, and a bit of humor as well. And she fully admits that her OCD tendencies of making sure every side character has a full backstory will likely always lead to every book having a spin-off or series.

When she’s not writing, she’s a lion tamer, an astronaut, and a superhero…just kidding, she’s likely watching Netflix and snuggling with her husky, Lola, while her amazing husband brings her coffee.
