Yes, I’m a single dad who needs a nanny for the summer.
But hire the stranded runaway bride who shows up on my doorstep in a wedding gown with no references, no skills, and no experience?
No one is that desperate.
Except within twenty-four hours, down-on-her-luck Veronica Sutton manages to charm my kids, my family, and half the population of Cherry Tree Harbor into believing she’s perfect for the job.
And for me.
It’s not that I can’t see the appeal–those baby blue eyes? The endless legs? That mouth made for trouble? But I’ve got enough on my plate, raising two kids on my own and keeping the family business alive. I don’t have the time or the inclination to fall for an outspoken city girl.
So I should have kept my hands to myself.
Holding her in my arms was a big mistake. Even worse? Spending the night together. She ignites a possessive fire in me that I’m finding hard to snuff out.
But the most unforgivable? Growing attached to the sound of her laugh, the scent of her skin, and the way her body wraps around mine in the dark.
At the end of the summer, she’ll be gone.
And if I’m not careful, she might run away with my heart.
Veronica Sutton's seemingly perfect life just imploded on her wedding day. She finds herself untethered in the small town of Cherry Tree Harbor and runs into a host of sweet and caring people ready to help her. And they send her right to Austin Buckley's door.
Austin is in sudden need of a babysitter for his twins for the summer. But he is serious, broody, controlled, stubborn, and protective. And he does not think the impulsive and beautiful woman with no experience is an option.
She is sweet, caring, fun, and really in need of a helping hand. And despite his wariness, Austin is also a man who likes to take care of people. And it's hard to say no when everyone else is saying yes.
As they spend more time together, the attraction becomes out of control. Their rules seem to be getting broken. They make deals to protect themselves. They swear they are not going to catch feelings. There is a set end date. It all seems totally in control, but sometimes feelings can run away too. When things are good, they are oh-so-good. But when they try to stay within their set boundaries, it is messy, painful, and hard. And Austin is so guarded and resistant that he makes it even harder, And Roni is determined to not settle for someone who does not really want her ever again.
Will this stoic, stubborn man finally admit what he really wants out of his own life and go after the woman who has inspired him before she runs away again to start a new life?

This is a fun, sweet, witty, sexy. swoony small town, grumpy-sunshine, runaway bride, nanny romance. I just adored these two together and the whole found family aspect. It introduces a new small town and Austin's siblings and friends. I have already fallen in love with this group and am looking forward to more. I cannot wait for Xander's story next.
