Release Blitz: Broken Dreams: Corinne Michaels
Narrated by Sebastian York & Kit Swann
What could possibly go wrong fake dating the gorgeous single dad in a small town?
The answer, you fall for him.
It started out perfect. Grady Whitlock needed a plus one for his business meetings, and I needed a date for a wedding.
We had a plan. It was a good one.
Until it wasn’t.
I was not supposed to have feelings for him. I was not going to let my heart race when his soulful blue eyes stared into mine. No way should I have noticed his smile or the dimple on his right cheek or his strong arms when he held me close. I especially wasn’t going to melt when I saw him play with my daughter.
Most of all I was not going to sleep with him.
Nope. None of that was supposed to happen, but it does.
Now I find myself dreaming of him every night. Wishing we were really a couple because the way he kisses me doesn’t feel as if it’s pretend.
Oh, these two. They have loved big and lost. And are raising their children alone with the help of friends and family.
Addison Davis moved from Rose Canyon to Sugarloaf to start over after her husband was murdered. She is smart, funny, caring, but has been lonely and wants to settle down again.
Grady Whitlock has moved to Sugarloaf to be near his family and start a new stable life for him and his son after losing his wife years ago. Grady is passionate and thoughtful, but confused and not looking for love.
Grady is focused on building his business, a home, and focusing on being a full-time parent. He has no plans on starting a relationship or risking himself or his son losing again. Addison has already found her place in town and is ready to start dating again and open her heart,
They form an unexpected friendship and their kids love each other. And they figure out they can help each other with something. He needs dates to some events to look like a settled man to potential investors and she needs a date to her friend's wedding back in Rose Canyon. It seems like a win-win. They set their boundaries and expectations. It is all supposed to be fake. Even falling into the physical passion is supposed to not make things complicated. But eventually, it will be time for it to end, but it might not be as easy to let it go. And they both have businesses to manage and have to prioritize their children.
This is a small town, fake relationship, second chance at love, single parents romance with heat and heart. I loved these two together despite the fact that they were often lying to themselves and I wanted to smack Grady multiple times. I loved their relationships with their kids and also their families and friends. It is a fun mash-up of these two series and friend groups. There are plenty of people watching them and talking about them, but ultimately hoping that these two would find happiness again.

First rule of being a nanny? Don’t fall for the single dad, even if he is smoking hot.
But that’s exactly what happens when grumpy small-town sheriff Asher Whitlock reluctantly hires me to take care of his daughter for the summer. Neither of us is thrilled with the arrangement, but he’s desperate for help, and I need the money for grad school this fall.
All we need to do is keep our distance and remain professional . . . turns out, that’s easier said than done.
Instead of focusing on my future, all I see is the strong jawline, crystal-blue eyes, and rock-hard body right in front of me. We try to resist each other, but we end up crossing every line until I’m in his bed.
I tell myself it’s just this once.
Okay, twice.
All right, every night.
But it’s got to end–he’s fourteen years older than me, with a kid and a stressful job. Have I mentioned my dad is his boss? Then there’s the past I’m trying to forget. Secrets aren’t easy to keep and mine are getting too big to hide.
Walking away is never simple but when I do, I can’t look back.
Even if it means leaving behind the man I was never meant to love.
