I will admit, I was not sure about this one at first. It is not a genre I have read much of, but since it is a monster romance by two authors I like to read, I thought I would give it a shot.

The plot is different and unique. The whole meeting is not a typical meet-cute.  Everest is a young man who has been sheltered and is just starting to be able to make his own decisions. And one that he has been waiting to do is his civic duty to provide his "deposits" to the Vyastil. They are visitors from another world who have become part of the human world but need something from human males in exchange for the advances to society they provide. 

Everest is a smart-mouthed, obstinate, independent, inquisitive, and stubborn brat. Rathyn of the Dark Vale is a Commander of the Vyastil Army. He is bossy, insulting, and becomes a bit obsessed with having Everest when he wants him. So much so that he presents an idea for a more exclusive arrangement. He gets what he wants, and Ev gets paid.  It's supposed to be a short-term exchange on a contract basis. 

But along the way, Ev is teaching Rathyn more about how to give and feel pleasure, and they are becoming closer in ways that are unexpected. But they are from different worlds and their societies have rules. What they find together is more than it should be, and they can't let the Vyastil know. 

This is a human-monster romance set between two worlds. They are opposites and have interesting power dynamics, but come to appreciate each other and learn new things together. There is a hurt-comfort component along with the sexual awakening and monster sex. I came to like Ev and Rath and their human and monster friends, and think the others will also make interesting stories. I adored Cielo and Dante, who are coming up next. The worldbuilding is interesting and adds to the plot and conflict.
