TAKE – verb: to reach for and hold in one’s hands or get into one’s possession, power or control.

Logan Mitchell is a man who’s always been more than happy to take what he wants. It’s a philosophy that’s proven lucrative in both his business and personal life, and never was it more apparent than the night he laid eyes on Tate Morrison. After pulling out all the stops and convincing the sexy bartender to give him a try—he’s hooked.

Now, Logan finds himself in a predicament that demands more from him than a smart-ass answer and his innate ability to walk away when things get too deep.

He has a choice to make, and it’ll force him to do something he’s never done before—take a chance.

Tate Morrison knows all about taking a chance. He took the biggest one of his life the night he showed up at Logan’s apartment to explore his unexpected reaction to the man.

Ever since then, he’s thought about little else.

At first he was convinced his attraction was based solely on his body’s curiosity. But the more time he spends with the silver-tongued lawyer, the more Tate realizes that their physical chemistry is only the beginning.

He’s starting to catch a glimpse of what life with Logan would be like, and it’s one full of excitement and satisfaction—a far cry from what he had in the past with his soon to be ex-wife.

Each man will face their fears as they begin to understand the true meaning of give and take. Their feelings for one another will be tested, as will their very beliefs. But now that they’ve found love where they least expected it, will they be brave enough to reach out and take it?

“That’s your truck?”

“Yes.”

“It’s so…”

“So what?” Logan challenged as he pulled his keys from his pocket.

“Old?”

“Excuse me. I’ll have you know I was driving this baby all through college and she still runs like a dream.”

Tate watched as Logan walked over to run his hand over the scratched-up tailgate, and he was amazed that he even made that look sexy. Like he was stroking a lover.

“And it’s a she, huh?”

Now around at the passenger’s side, Logan opened the door and looked at him over the bed of the truck. “Yeah. Jealous?”

Laughing, Tate walked over to where Logan stood with a hand on the door and kissed him slowly on the mouth.

“I’m jealous of anything you stroke like that.”

“Get in the truck, Tate.”

“Or else?”

Logan stepped forward, crowding him back against the inside frame of the vehicle. “You’re not ready for the or else…”

Each of them knew this was moving faster than they had expected, but unless they called it off, there was nothing they could do but go with it. It was like a giant wave--if you got caught in its pull, it was best to just surrender and let it steer you where it would. All you could hope for was to keep your head above the water and remember to breathe.
We saw these two men resist, spar, sizzle, and finally TRY. Now we see Logan and Tate ready to TAKE a chance on each other.

Logan Mitchell has always been the cocky, in control, man on a mission. He is arrogant, charismatic, sarcastic, persistent, and relentless. He usually wins and takes what he wants. Attempting to win Tate was a huge challenge not only due to their circumstances, but also because it pushed them both out of their comfort zones. Logan has been burned and has secrets from his past that rear their ugly head. He does not usually do relationships or feelings. He has a deep underlying fear of rejection and being hurt. His trust issues and history are fears that he has to face if he wants to try to with Tate.

All he'd once dreamed of was right there within reach. All he had to do was reach out and take it.

Tate Morrison initially appears to be the softer, easy going, more vulnerable one. But he is also an equally strong, stubborn alpha as Logan. He can be controlling and a dirty boy too. But this is a whole new experience for him and causes him to redefine himself in many ways. His fears center around coming out, perception, acceptance as well as being hurt. He stands to lose a lot by taking a risk on having more with Logan.

Logan had fundamentally changed him, made him see the light--or the f***ing stars--and there was no way he could ever be unchanged.

Their sexy, flirty, sexually charged innuendo is still in full force despite their admittance of growing need and feelings. As they try to move forward, they continue to push each other's boundaries as their relationship deepens. They are learning to balance give and take, and  starting to share more and open up.

"That's what you want, isn't it? Someone who won't always let you win? Someone that is more than happy to be sucked and f***ed, but will also return the favor? "

But their new closeness comes with complications especially for Tate. Work, families, vengeful exes, and public personas are shaken. In their own little bubble, they are embarking on a journey of self discovery and emotional connection, but they are challenged by outside forces. And their intense need also brings out strong emotions and ramps up fears.

I thought these two were hot in TRY, but in this one they are seriously scorching. The sexual chemistry between these two is off the charts. Their connection is so intense that you can literally feel it. And there is no holding back in this one. Even though it is quite erotic and sexually charged, the emotional component in this one also really stands out and is a huge part of the story.

Logan and Tate are coming together. It is not always easy or perfect, but it is real and raw. They have a lot to deal with individually and together. I enjoyed this journey with them and getting both of their points of view allowing us to see their deep hurts, fears, and vulnerability. We got to see more about what makes them tick, what they need, and the insecurities that have shaped them. Their passion, power plays, witty rapport, vulnerability, and emotions drew me in. I was totally enthralled and engaged in their progression. I am looking forward to the continuation of their story. This one definitely teased me and  left me wanting more, but I think it left off in a good transitional point.

Ella Frank again managed to bring characters to life are are so well developed that they feel like real, breathing people. And she pushes them and challenges them to progress and grow. I love both Tate and Logan's personalities and am totally invested in them. I honestly feel like their connection and chemistry is stronger than most I read about in traditional romance reads. I loved seeing old friends from the Exquisite series as well. Cole has a larger part since he is Logan's brother, but all the couples make an appearance. They never fail to provide comic relief and fun.

Take was steamy, intensely passionate, emotional, humorous, heartfelt, and dramatic. It focused on taking a chance, taking what you want, and taking it all the way. But also the repercussions from doing so. Sometimes taking comes with risk, but you don't know if you don't try.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Try – verb: to make an attempt or effort to do something or in this case…someone.

Sex. Logan Mitchell loves it, and ever since he realized his raw sexual appeal at a young age, he has had no problem using it to his advantage. Men and women alike fall into his bed—after all, Logan is not one to discriminate. He lives by one motto—if something interests you, why not just take a chance and try?

And he wants to try Tate Morrison.

Just coming out of a four-year marriage with an ex-wife from hell, a relationship is the last thing on Tate’s mind. He’s starting fresh and trying to get back on his feet with a new job at an upscale bar in downtown Chicago.

The only problem is, Tate has caught the unwavering and unwelcome attention of Mr. Logan Mitchell – a regular at the bar and a man who always gets what he wants.

Night after night Tate fends off the persistent advances of the undeniably charismatic man, but after an explosive moment in the bar, all bets are off as he finds his body stirring with a different desire than his mind.

As arrogance, stubbornness and sexual tension sizzles between the two, it threatens to change the very course of their lives.

Logan doesn’t do relationships. Tate doesn’t do men. But what would happen if they both just gave in and…tried?
