Try – verb: to make an attempt or effort to do something or in this case…someone.

Sex. Logan Mitchell loves it, and ever since he realized his raw sexual appeal at a young age, he has had no problem using it to his advantage. Men and women alike fall into his bed—after all, Logan is not one to discriminate. He lives by one motto—if something interests you, why not just take a chance and try?
And he wants to try Tate Morrison.

Just coming out of a four-year marriage with an ex-wife from hell, a relationship is the last thing on Tate’s mind. He’s starting fresh and trying to get back on his feet with a new job at an upscale bar in downtown Chicago.

The only problem is, Tate has caught the unwavering and unwelcome attention of Mr. Logan Mitchell – a regular at the bar and a man who always gets what he wants.
Night after night Tate fends off the persistent advances of the undeniably charismatic man, but after an explosive moment in the bar, all bets are off as he finds his body stirring with a different desire than his mind.
As arrogance, stubbornness and sexual tension sizzles between the two, it threatens to change the very course of their lives.

Logan doesn’t do relationships. Tate doesn’t do men. But what would happen if they both just gave in and…tried?
Excerpt:

Before Tate could respond to the question hanging between them, Logan palmed his chest and pushed him back into the corner of the couch. When his back met with the soft leather, a strong thigh slid between his legs, and Tate groaned from the relief of finally having something hard to press against.

“Yeah, that’s it,” Logan encouraged, placing a hand on the back of the couch and the other on the armrest behind Tate’s head. Using them as an anchor, Logan rolled his hips downward and proved just how forceful he could be.

Tate’s head was resting against the couch as Logan looked down between them while he thrust his hips, over and over, creating a heated friction that had Tate’s mind spinning out of his head. The sexual hunger in Logan’s eyes as he watched their clothed bodies connecting made Tate wonder just how combustible things would be when their clothes finally came off.

Feeling the need to touch, now more than ever, Tate grabbed a hold of Logan’s hips and pulled the man down against him with much more force than he’d intended. The delicious pressure of having Logan’s shaft grind against his own was too much to forgo, so Tate arched up, anxiously meeting the steady rub Logan was giving with every single punch of his hips.

“Fuck,” Logan muttered.

"I like to try a little bit of everything and everyone...I'd like to try you."

Try is a new erotic male/male romance written by Ella Frank (who is famously known for her Exquisite series). Wow, just WOW! Logan and Tate (two smokin’ sexy and scrumptious males for the price of one). Hmm, where in the world should we start?!

We briefly met Logan in Edible. Straight away you realize Logan lacks any kind of filter; this man is the epitome of arrogant and makes absolutely no excuses for who he is or how he lives his life and that includes his sex life...indulging in both women and men. This domineering alpha knows no boundaries; you’ll find a man who frequently crosses that line without thought to anyone other than himself. Logan is definitely flirty, sarcastic, assertive, and tenacious. He brings a whole other meaning to determined, unless it comes down to emotions and commitment, those are two things he doesn't bother concerning himself with.

Tate’s the new sexy as all get out bartender at Logan's favorite bar. He is one hell of a flirt (not to mention wicked delicious), and knows exactly how to garner tips as well as attention from his customers. The thing is his past relationship has left him feeling very cautious and the last thing he ever imagines is becoming insanely attracted to another man. However, Tate definitely gets more than he bargains for the instant he comes face to face with Logan.

Logan is damn pushy and the word NO doesn't exist anywhere in this bad boy’s dictionary. He takes what he wants when he wants it with no concern to the consequences. In all honestly, poor Tate didn’t stand a chance against a forward, sometimes overbearing, and assertive Logan. His pursuit totally challenges everything Tate knows to be morally and socially acceptable, the lust and attraction confuses the hell out of him; rocking Tate's whole perception of himself on its axis. Together Logan and Tate challenged each other.

Try takes place in a time span of two weeks that are full of temptation, seduction, and sexual discovery.  From their very first moment, you can feel the yearning and an intense and confusing desire to explore each other. Every comment and interaction between them becomes a very intriguing and almost animalistic game of cat and mouse. These two totally play off each other’s faults and personalities perfectly; so much so that their connection felt a bit like tortured foreplay, with all the sexual innuendos and tension flying between them. If you’re looking for an adventure filled with undeniable sexual tension and panty melting chemistry then you are in the right place. Speaking of said chemistry, Logan and Tate’s is holy hell off the charts freakin' hot! Even when Tate had no clue exactly what he wanted, the sexual tension was so thick that it felt as though there was another entity in the room. And it just kept building and building til' there was nothing to do but explode! With this, we give our promise that Try will leave you wicked hot and bothered (you may want to make sure you have a little somethin’ somethin’ around to help you ease your own build up while reading this). Logan and Tate are seriously one of hottest, sexiest connections and relationships in our recent reads.

We LOVED Logan! OMG! Loved! His flirty dirty mouth and alpha male tendencies had us laughing out loud and fanning ourselves! With the way he acted and things he said, he often came off like an arrogant a**hole. Nevertheless, he had enough charm and vulnerability to still be likable. And Tate...sweet, confused, lovable Tate. We absolutely adored him too! What we loved the most about him is that even though he was unsure and new to all of it, he also displayed underlying bossy male domineering traits. So although he was essentially the sweeter, gentler of the two, he had a backbone that never hesitated to push back. They really did compliment each other well.

Both Tate and Logan are pushed to try and experience something totally out of character. And in the end they challenge the other to change his whole outlook on what he thought he wanted out of life; they offer each other the opportunity at a new unconventional type of relationship, one that opens them up to a whole new set of emotions, consequences, and rewards. Tate offers Logan the opportunity to see another human being as being more than a conquest; he encourages him to look beneath the surface to the man that he could care about and who could care about him. In turn, Logan shows Tate that attraction and desire comes in all shapes and sizes…and genders. It’s not always about finding affection and comfort within the norm. Sometimes when you step outside the box you find that compatibility can’t be defined within black and white lines.

"The biggest truth is that we're both trying something new, and you know what? We both love it."

"So what is your truth, Logan?"
"I think you are."

Individually and together these two have so many more obstacles to overcome, they are both so insecure and fearful that it shows in their reactions towards one another. As with any relationship they are bound to make mistakes, especially since neither one is standing on solid ground. However, even during those rough "want to bang your head against the wall" moments, they managed to provide support to each other. Not to mention their attraction was so damn strong they couldn't really find it within themselves to resist each other, even if they repeatedly tried. Logan and Tate just sparked so much all-consuming chemistry and need.

"It's been real since the moment I realized that I couldn't stop thinking about you."

Ella’s characters are always well developed with hidden depth, so we love when she provides us with both points of view; allowing us the chance to really dig deep into the characters thoughts and emotions to feel their inner turmoil. This book had humor, flirtation, steam, and intense emotional and physical chemistry. Ella is a queen at writing erotic scenes as well as sexy explorations, while still allowing the story and the characters to move forward and progress. Even though their relationship initially centered on lust and sex, it was also the foundation for self-discovery, learning about each other and providing more opportunity to become more intensely involved emotionally. Ella Frank continues to surprise us as she takes on different genres. And just like with her other fantastic books, she nailed it. Try surpassed our expectations.

Logan and Tate still have a lot to work out and fortunately for us they will have more time to do it in TAKE, which releases in  the summer of 2014. We cannot wait!  We are so ready for more Logan and Tate.

Thanks to Ella Frank for providing us with an ARC in exchange for honest review.
