Expected June 30, 2015

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines comes the next new adult novel in her beloved Rosemary Beach series, which continues the story of Mase and Reese from When I’m Gone.

“She was where my home would always be. It was time I took the next step and proved to her I was all in. Forever.”

A chance meeting in Rosemary Beach has turned into a fairy-tale romance as Reese prepares to move in with Mase on his family ranch in Texas. With the loving support of the Colts, and her recent discovery that she has family of her own, Reese can finally move on from the dark horrors of her past and into a bright future.

But Aida isn’t going to let that happen. The beautiful blonde has been raised to think of Mase as her cousin, but it’s clear to Reese that Aida doesn’t love Mase like a cousin should.

And then there’s Captain, the inescapable stranger who has connections in Dallas and Rosemary Beach—and who conveniently shows up wherever Reese happens to be. Hot, mysterious, and plain-speaking, Captain isn’t afraid to tell Reese what he thinks about Mase—and how he feels about her.

As the competition for Mase and Reese’s hearts heats up, Reese’s past begins to unravel, illuminating shocking truths that will forever change the lives of the happy couple—and set the final stories of Rosemary Beach in motion.

I absolutely loved Mase and Reese in their first book When I'm Gone. Now they are ready to continue their relationship together as she relocates to Texas. They have been through a lot together and are committed and in love. Unfortunately there are some new outside influences who would like nothing more but to split them apart and claim one for their own.
I have adored Mase all along. He's protective, loyal, dependable, sweet, and sexy. He always took care of his sister Harlow, and now he takes care of his girl, Reese. But he could be a little clueless about things going on around him at times. But he really is the good guy.

Reese is  determined, loving, and still a bit naive. She has lived through a horrible past, but Mase helped her heal and grow. But she is now in a new place, still coming into her own, and learning to believe in her abilities. She has a sweetness and innocence about her, but at the same time she has a backbone and quiet strength.

They are such a sweet, sexy couple when they are together. You can just feel their love, devotion, and need. But due to the interventions of others trying to cast doubts, they have to continue to build trust, prioritize, face demons, and insecurities. And Reese especially is still growing and changing her own life and trying to find her own path. She has new family and new purpose in her life, but is sometimes swayed by others' opinions or manipulation.

I liked getting more with Mase and Reese, but at times it seemed like there was some contrived drama. I got a bit frustrated with communication issues and the way that in trying to be protective of each other they ended up making bigger mistakes.

The side characters of his "cousins" Aida and Major were prevalent in this story and Blaire's brother "Captain" also was a big part of it. I expect we will be seeing more with Captain and Major in future stories in Rosemary Beach. Even though they could be outspoken, arrogant, rude, and obnoxious...I kind of liked both of the guys. Captain especially seemed to have some hidden aspects to his personality and life. Now Aida, I had no fondness for whatsoever. She definitely gives Nan a run for her money with annoying female characters. The frequent interference of  these characters really added to the drama of the story.

But I loved that many of our friends from Rosemary Beach, along with Mase's Texas family, Reese's new Chicago family, and Slacker Demon make appearances.

Even though Mase and Reese might be the least dramatic of the Rosemary Beach couples, they still have been through a lot together, but still had some new challenges to navigate in their new relationship. There were a few surprising twists in the story, while some things I found a bit predictable.  The ending seemed a bit abrupt with a couple of things left hanging, but there were some possible set ups for future stories. Abbi has announced plans for Captain's book, a novella for Dean Finlay (Rush's father), and Nan's book to finish out the series.  I am addicted to this series and all of these characters and it was a comfy read for me. I know I can pick up one of these books and get sucked into this world with old friends and enjoy spending time with them.

I started reading this book a little hesitantly. I loved When You’re Gone. I loved where Mace and Reece were as a couple at the end of their first book. There may not have been a ring on her finger, and he may have left her in Chicago, but they were in a good place in their relationship and my imagination had no trouble jumping to their happily ever after. Knowing they had another whole novel ahead of them made me scared and nervous for them.

Mace and Reece are one of my favorite Rosemary Beach couples, even though they aren’t in Rosemary Beach for most of this book. But as they are a new couple, they have some things to sort out now that Reece has moved to the ranch with Mace, and the addition of Mace’s cousin, Aida, who has a “thing” for Mace will throw a wrench into their relationship before the foundation has settled.

There isn’t much I can say about these two that I didn’t say in my first review. I love them both. Their insecurities pop up often in this book though, causing each to hold back information leading to misunderstandings and a lot of backpedaling and apologizing. I hated watching them struggle, but loved them anyway.

This was a very comfortable read. I can’t say there were many surprises, but there were a couple twists that popped up to make things interesting for the characters around them. The ending was a little abrupt, but then again that is kind of how this series is set up. There were a few things I felt were left hanging, but those were not necessarily central to Mace and Reece’s story. The seeds planted for the next book intrigue me. Just when I thought I was getting a feel for who that character was, a final twist changed up everything I thought I knew and I look forward to learning more.

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines comes the next new adult novel in the Rosemary Beach series, in which we meet Mase, a Texas heartthrob first introduced in Take a Chance who comes to Rosemary Beach to stir things up.

I had an urge to fix all her problems. Which was stupid. She was doing fine without me. But something about those big eyes…

Mase Colt-Manning has always preferred his humble life as a Texas rancher to his birthright as the son of a legendary rock star. In fact, he rarely visits his father’s rarefied world in Rosemary Beach, especially if it means bunking at his vile half-sister Nan’s house—until one visit leads to a chance encounter with a young, gorgeous house maid who awakens him with her off-key but spirited imitation of a country music star…

Reese Ellis finally has her freedom. After escaping a lifetime of abuse from her parents and classmates for an undiagnosed learning disorder, she seizes the opportunity to be a house maid to some of the richest families in Rosemary Beach. But her job is in jeopardy when she causes an accident at the home of her most important client, Nan Dillon. When a hot, half-naked stranger with a cowboy’s swagger comes to her rescue, she’s intrigued—then afraid once he shows his own interest. Reese has never met a trustworthy man in her life. Will Mase be any different?
