“You already are. So tell me something else that’s true. Something else you know,” she said, loving the hot, dirty way he talked to her as he touched her.

“I’m going to look into your eyes like I want to take you,” he said, his eyes blazing with desire. “That look will drive you wild. And you’ll swallow nervously because you don’t know me, and it’s odd wanting a stranger as much as you do.” He was reading her like a teenage diary. On the one hand, she was nervous. She didn’t know him at all. But she was also aroused beyond words. Beyond reason. Beyond any normal limits.

For that same reason—because she didn’t know him.

“Then, you’ll run a hand down my tie,” he told her, and she reached out instantly, doing exactly as he said, loving the directions he gave. Sophie craved this kind of interaction. She wanted a man to command her. So much time was spent deciding, and doing, and planning. It drove her brain batty, and she longed for this kind of release from her days.

“Do you know why you’re so fascinated with my tie?” he asked huskily, his eyes pinned on her. He practically fucked her with his gaze. It was so intense. His confidence set her on fire. It torched a path across her body, sizzling her skin.

“Tell me,” she said, eager for more of his words. “Since you seem to know me so well. Tell me.”

He brushed the backs of his fingers against her cheek. Oh God, she was dying for him to kiss her. She was so eager to feel those lips. To taste him.

He grasped a wrist with one hand, yanking it up his chest and loosely wrapping the end of his tie around her hand. “You want me to tie you up.”

“How do you know that?” she asked, her voice stripped to the bones. He knew her. He read her. He could sense everything she wanted. He crowded her against the wall. Heaven Leigh belted out her song on stage. The inky black of the backstage cloaked them.

“Am I wrong?” he asked, arching an eyebrow. “If I’m wrong, tell me and I’ll walk away.”

She shook her head. “Are you going to take it off? Tie me up?” she asked in a voice that hardly sounded like hers. It belonged to the part of her that had been untended for years.

He grinned wickedly. “No. I have other ways to tie you up,” he said, and in a flash, he gripped her wrists in his big strong hands, wrapping his fingers around her, binding her as he yanked her hands behind her back. Heat flared in her body, spinning through her, settling between her legs. Her gorgeous, sexy panties were so damp right now they were useless.

She ached for his touch. And she could do nothing but wait for it since she was his hostage.

He was so strong she couldn’t wriggle away if she wanted to. His thumbs dug into her wrist bones, pinning her hands above her ass, rendering her helpless. The pressure from the twist in her arms bordered on pain, and felt oh so good.

There was no space between the two of them. Only breath. Only words and his bare, husky voice. “Do you know what else I’ve been thinking about all day?”

A chance meeting...A sudden onset of lust...a tossed out invitation and an unfortunate  coincidence.

Ryan Sloan and Sophie Winston circle around each other in a dance of lust, desire, and challenge. There is an intensity to their interactions that had me mesmerized. Holy freakin' hotness! I swear I was pulled right in by the vortex of their lust and needed to fan myself. They are both flirty, focused, and radiate sexual tension, chemistry, and desire.

Ryan is confident, sexy, charismatic and dominant. He is all about control and knows what he likes.  He is hell-a sexy with laser sharp focus and determination. But underneath, he is still deeply affected by his past. He still does not know what to believe, has secrets, guilt, and still harbors a bit of hope. He is resistant to getting close to someone, opening up, or having a relationship. I was completely interested in learning more about his family's past and what the heck he was hiding. He could be very mysterious and stubborn. But I  totally adored him.

Sophie is multi-faceted. She is a tech geek who made it good and is now a wealthy, fashionista philanthropist. She is a serious flirt, but her actual experience has been limited. She knows what she wants and Ryan fits the bill. She's got her own set of quirks and idiosyncrasies. She's naughty, nice, smart, and even though she is often the one in charge, she has no trouble taking direction. Here whole personality is big, bright, and so feminine and sweet. I loved her as a heroine.

I was enthralled by their sexy banter, chemistry and strong desire. Their connection comes on sudden, strong, and takes them both by surprise. All of their scenes simmer and are full of foreplay. But Ryan is so scarred from his past that he has a hard time believing in love and never really thought he would find someone that he would be willing to try for. He has horrible trust issues and does not really get close to others outside his trusted circle. Sophie wants the full fantasy and fairy tale because she has seen what it is like not to have shared passion. Together they are flirty, dirty, and naughty. Their chemistry sizzles and is scorching hot. They complement each other well in most aspects of their lives in the present. But the future is a big unknown due to various issues. And Ryan is keeping secrets that could ultimately turn her away.

This installment is about breaking down walls, opening up, learning to trust, finding hope and learning to believe in love. It is Ryan's journey of self discovery and coming to terms with issues he has kept buried for years. But it also builds onto the underlying mystery of his family's tragic past-- bringing in more pieces to the puzzle but also adding more questions and theories. The details of this eighteen year old murder case we learned about in Sweet Sinful Nights are still slowly unraveling. It is compelling and thought provoking. There are some definite twists, surprises, and mysteries. 

I love this series. I love this family and the bond between the siblings Ryan, Michael, Colin, Shannon and her husband Brent, and their Grandma. Their lives were all affected differently by past events and it is interesting to see how they are handling it in the present. There are plenty of other side characters that add interest, drama, and more  mystery to the story. This one is completely seductive, steamy, romantic, emotional, but also humorous and vexing. I love stories that make me think and try to problem solve, so the fact that this story will run through all four books about the siblings is very intriguing to me and I can't wait to see how all of the little details finally come together to form the big picture. I am looking forward to Colin's book Sinful Longing next and his story was set up a little in this one.

There are more secrets in the Sloan family. Ryan is the only one still clinging to his mom’s innocence. When her case is reopened with new leads, his hopes rise that she will be cleared and his family can be as whole as possible. When Detective Winston questions the siblings again, Ryan’s mind is once again focused on who else might have been involved in his father’s murder.

Sophie Winston loves her job as a charity organizer. She is able to spend time in the city she loves, give back to others, and feel like she is making a difference with her time and her money. She keeps in close contact with her brother, a LVPD detective, and both loves and loathes his over-protectiveness about her.

These two are as fun together as they are hot. Both love Las Vegas and their dates show it. When things heat up, they find out just how compatible they are. Sophie has been looking for someone with confidence to take control in the bedroom, and she can take what he dishes out. For Ryan, a man who usually keeps people and women at arms length, the speed at which Sophie slips under his walls catches him off guard makes it fun to watch him sort out what is happening between them.

Sophie’s relationship with her ex-husband was actually kind of nice. I was surprised by the closeness they show, but love what it says about each of them that they support each other despite their relationship having failed. And for a change, it was nice to see the ex not being a villain in the story.

I have loved this series since the beginning, but this one blew me away yet again. I love the way each book stands alone, and yet there are teasers about what’s coming next for the family as a whole. I had some predictions about the background story with Ryan’s mom, but was shocked by how wrong I was when the big reveal came at the end. Leading into Colin’s story, those final paragraphs give some great bread crumbs for Colin and the series as a whole.
