December 10-17, 2012
Hi, Kim and I are excited to be joining you on this blog hop! Depending on where you are located it is cold and yucky outside. What is better way to pass the winter blues than with an amazing book. For this giveaway we want to share
The Sea Of Tranquility with you.
Cuddle up, get comfy, and lose a few of those dreary cold hours with Nastya & Josh, you won't regret it!

Our Giveaway

I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or shapeshifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and music disintegrates and things suck. I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.

Former piano prodigy Nastya Kashnikov wants two things: to get through high school without anyone learning about her past and to make the boy who took everything from her—her identity, her spirit, her will to live—pay.

Josh Bennett’s story is no secret: every person he loves has been taken from his life until, at seventeen years old, there is no one left. Now all he wants is be left alone and people allow it because when your name is synonymous with death, everyone tends to give you your space.

Everyone except Nastya, the mysterious new girl at school who starts showing up and won’t go away until she’s insinuated herself into every aspect of his life. But the more he gets to know her, the more of an enigma she becomes. As their relationship intensifies and the unanswered questions begin to pile up, he starts to wonder if he will ever learn the secrets she’s been hiding—or if he even wants to.

The Sea of Tranquility is a rich, intense, and brilliantly imagined story about a lonely boy, an emotionally fragile girl, and the miracle of second chances.

You open up this book and you begin this twisted adventure of discovery. It draws you in, the characters get under your skin, you cannot turn pages fast enough to see what is coming next. You cannot help but become invested in Nastya and Josh.

It is a journey of discovery of themselves and each other. Pieces of their past are unraveled slowly and you see how it has shaped their present. You find yourself hoping that enough healing can occur so that this couple can save each other and themselves. It is emotional. It is heartbreaking. It is inspiring. It gives you hope.

This book is emotional and hard at times, but it is not depressing. Through the entire book there is sharp wit, sarcasm, and humor that makes you chuckle despite the heavy subject matter.

    1. Ana, yes, it is international. Not sure if I can get behind this one. I am close to that chicks age with a 14 year old son, so it throws me a bit. Kim wants to read it though so I may wait for my partner in crime to check it out and let me know.

    1. Forgot my current favorite read. I discovered Gini Koch, when I was voting on Goodreads 2012 annual awards. It seemed that everyone in that particular genre I had read and enjoyed except for her. So, I found the first book in her Katherine Katt series and was thrilled and devoured the rest in the series. The lastest just came out and was as good as the rest. The genre is science fiction, but the writing style is similar to MaryJanice Davidson's Queen Betsy series or Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. They are just laugh out loud funny.
