Movie star Alistair Ingram strolled into Dolls & Doms private men's club in Las Vegas for his bachelor party and limped out with a torn shirt, red welts covering his chest and a broken engagement splashed all over the pages of every celebrity magazine in the country.

A session with club Dominatrix, Black Betty, will do that to a man.

With Alistair's manager breathing down his neck and Black Betty's abusive ex-husband alerted to where she's been hiding for the past ten years, there's only one thing to do:
Lie.

And get the hell out of Las Vegas.
But the real ruse is on Alistair and Black Betty, because despite both of their best efforts, they've gotten under each other's skin. Can their explicit dance of domination and submission end in anything other than disaster?

THE SUBMISSION OF ALISTAIR INGRAM is the first in a novella series from Dolls and Doms Blog, where erotic tales from the Dolls & Doms private men’s club are told in weekly episodes.

Kim's Review:

"I've been a bad, bad girl...And you're a bad boy who needs to be broken."

A fast-paced sexy romp with intriguing characters that drew me in from the first page.

Black Betty: A Dom who wants to be in control and does not like being challenged or topped. She is hiding herself under armor and barely remembers who she was before she became a Dom. But something sweet lies under all the layers of protection. She is trying to escape her past and lives in fear that it will catch up with her.

"Don't screw with that one...she'll eat you alive and keep your soul in a jar beside the bed."

Alistair Ingram: Cocky, sexy, arrogant, Hollywood Golden Boy with a little wild side. He's famous, has had a checkered past, and knows what he wants when he sees it.

Black Betty: "Quite the charmed life you live, Doll. Time to get a little dirty."

It is all over for Alistair when his friend schedules his Bachelor Party at Dolls and Doms. One visit to the backroom with Black Betty sets of a chain of events that neither of them were prepared for. They were drawn to each other like magnets despite seeming totally wrong for each other.

Inside that crazy head of hers was a world he's never stepped foot in. A world of pain and unimaginable pleasure. He wanted in.

Alistair shook her to the core. A half-hour alone with him and he'd sought out her deepest, darkest fear like some crazy heat-seeking missile launched to destroy her.

Trust becomes a huge issue for them. They are thrown into situations requiring trust and have to struggle to find their way through the mine field.

Alistair: "I can take whatever you give me...Can you take what I give you? That's the real question."

Black Betty: "Don't mistake attraction for trust. I don't know you. I don't trust you. You shouldn't trust me"

They have a dance between Dominance an submission with both of them wanting to top. They are super-charged, sexy sarcastic, explosive, and funny.

"Two Doms don't make a right."

"This isn't about normal people. If you want vanilla, this isn't your game, Mr. Ingram."
"What if I want vanilla with chocolate sauce? A sprinkle of nuts?...some whipped cream with a cherry on top?"
"What you're asking for is Rocky Road sprinkled with shards of glass, got it?"

They have to learn to trust, give in, let go of the past, be true, and not hide behind a mask. And she fights it all along the way. There are situations conspiring against them and outside influences interfering in their mutual discovery of each other.

I adored Alistair and how he treated Black Betty/Bethany and kept trying to get past her defenses to find the real girl. Despite having a hard time understanding her contradictory nature at first, he was assertive but sweet. He pushed her but understood her fears and tried to help her reconnect with herself again. I loved that he stood up for her and treated her with respect. Their smoldering chemistry, witty rapport, sarcasm, strong desires and underlying emotions made them a joy to read about it.

Alistair: "I'm not sure if you want me buried between your legs or buried in your backyard."

Alistair: "You kill me, do you know that? You absolutely slay me inside."

I loved the alternating POVs of Black Betty/Bethany and Alistair since it gave you insight into the rapidly cycling thoughts going on in their heads. They were literally volatile at the beginning and their thoughts, actions, and attractions moved at break neck speed.

They had electric chemistry, an unlikely understanding of each other, and brought out feelings that neither of them were expecting. It is a story about  finding acceptance and what you need when and where you least expect it.

I am looking forward to more adventures at Dolls and Doms. New stories will be starting on the blog March 7th with Bradley Burton and Red Mary and will eventually become the 2nd novella.

Thanks to Kelli Maine for providing me with an ARC of this novella in exchange for an honest review

  1. Opposites attract is a good example with Betty/Bethany and Alistair. She a dominant in a private mens club and he a movie star!
While Bethany fights the attraction she feels for Alistair he is more than willing to see where it will take them.
