He had held a secret that destroyed her world.

Everything she had known was no longer true.

Blaire couldn’t stop loving him but she knew she could never forgive him.
Now, she was back home and learning to live again. Moving on with life… until something happened to send her world spinning once again.
What do you do when the one person you can never trust again is the one that you need to trust so desperately?

You lie, hide, avoid, and pray that your sins never find you out.

No one lived in a fairy tale. Especially me.

This book starts out a few weeks after the sad, heart wrenching cliffhanger ending of Fallen Too Far. Poor Rush and Blaire...they are still apart, still utterly miserable, and at a loss what to do about it.

Blaire is facing a difficult situation and uncertain future. She is scared and feels alone despite her friend Cain who was trying to help her. His feelings just make things more difficult for Blaire. It was just so obvious that Blaire and Rush belonged together. And it was heartbreaking to see their inner torment and outer anguish.

But circumstances lead her back to Rosemary and closer to Rush. They develop a tenuous truce. I loved seeing them try to reconnect and how especially Rush was walking on eggshells and was so scared of messing up and having her leave. There is no doubt how much he needs her and loves her.

"Blaire I will do anything. Anything, Blaire, just to be near you."

"No. One. Comes. Before. You."
“I love you, Blaire. I love you so damn much it hurts.”

He was so attentive once he was able to get back into her life. But then Rush is Rush, so of course he makes mistakes...some small...some big. And I held my breath and wanted to smack him each time he made a poor decision. And I wanted to shake Blaire at times for being so insecure and having such self esteem issues. But she was not weak, she just really felt like she could never fit into Rush's life. And of course, she did have reason to doubt it. I loved having both of their POVs in alternating chapters so we got to understand what they were both thinking and feeling. It was hard to see them hit by difficult situations and keep their worlds from totally clashing again.

"But I don't fit. Your family hates me. I make your life difficult."

"...And as for making my life difficult, you, Blaire Wynn, you make my life complete."

Their relationship was sweet, passionate, and volatile. But you know they are meant to be together and would have a healthier relationship if they did not have to deal with all of the outside influences. This book has a lot of hot, sexy scenes and Rush had a much dirtier mouth in this one. When things were good between them, they were quite frisky. And they loved each other with such intensity that you could feel it.

"Listen to me, Blaire. If you try to go anywhere I will chase you down. I will become your shadow. I will not let you out of my sight because I can't live without you. I made so many damn mistakes with you I don't even want to try to count them but I'm going to start making things right from here on out. I swear to you that this won't happen again. I know now that this is where I'm supposed to be. No more lies. Just us."

I loved Bethy and Jace in this book. She is outspoken and a true friend to Blaire. And Jace really stepped up too. I really found new appreciation for Woods as well and cannot wait to read his book Twisted Perfection. I am looking forward to Grant having a story too. Nan...mean nasty Nan....I wanted to claw her eyes out and snatch her by the hair...I am hoping we see her softening more in the upcoming books.

This book was over way too fast for me since I just really love these characters. I was happy where it ended up, and the fact that is was a little abrupt did not really bother me. I know we will see more of Blaire and Rush in the upcoming books, so it made it easier to let this book end. I still had a smile on my face. Although Abbi Glines says she will write an epilogue once it reaches 500 likes on Amazon. And I will be happy to read a little more about this lovable couple.
