Add to Goodreads          Buy: Nook/Kindle

Here's the deal... I learned a long time ago that sometimes you have to use what you've got to make things happen. What I happen to have is a pretty smile, long legs and the ability to make men believe anything I say. Before you get on your high horse and start judging me, can you honestly say you've never batted your lashes at some guy for a free drink at the bar? That's what I thought.

Keep that in mind as I tell you my story of how I took it one step further. My story of lies, deceit, manipulation and love. Yeah, love. Believe me, it fits. Especially, when you factor in Nick and Tucker – one had my heart and the other one wanted it all for himself. Which one? Well, I can't tell you that. It would defeat the purpose of the story. If I'm going to fill you in about me, Lila Garrison, and my life as a con artist you're going to need to know all the facts, including the ones about the two guys who made me want to give up the life of fancy clothes, expensive jewelry, fast cars and easy money. Because sometimes, one person can give you something that's more valuable than all of that.

If you're still interested, stick around. Just remember, I'm pretty good at convincing people to do what I want, so if by the end of this whole thing you feel worked over, don't say I didn't warn you.

Kim's Rating and Review: 4 out of 5 Stars

Trickster, bamboozler, grifter. There were lots of names for what I did, but only one that everyone seemed to know -- con artist. That was me and I was good at it.

Lila Rae and Nick are like family. They have been friends since their teen years and have spent their young lives running cons and making money off of people who they did not feel deserved it. But Lila is ready to start over and have a real life and would love for that to be with Nick. But Nick has just one more job for her to help him get out of some trouble. And she will do anything for Nick. She has loved him forever. Little does she know that this will change everything.

For the the past five years, Nick has been the center of my universe and more than anything, I wanted to be the center of his. We were always teetering between relationship statuses. We were somewhere between best friends and a whole lot more.

The "Mark" is Tucker Kline, a young, wealthy frat boy. Nick says he is an undeserving jerk. Sure he is cocky, arrogant, and a playboy, but the Tucker she comes to know has many redeeming qualities. He is sweet, attentive, generous, caring and charismatic. They play off each other so well. They have electric chemistry and attraction. The game is turned on the player and she is caught between the boy she has loved for years and the guy she is supposed to dupe. Which one of these guys is really the perfect match for her?

That was the moment it hit me. The moment where I realized I actually had real feelings for Tucker Kline. That's my girl. But I wasn't his girl. At least not completely. Nick had my heart, and despite my best efforts to keep it from Tucker, he had a part of it, too.

"I'm pretty much close to the line when it comes to falling for you, Lila...It wouldn't take too much for me to trip over it."

The twists and turns of this book kept it interesting and it was a brilliant game of cat and mouse. It was fun trying to figure out who was really playing who and what the underlying truths were. Tucker was all you would want a boyfriend to be. Lila was smart, sweet, caring, and really struggled with doing the right thing and did not want to hurt either one. Nick had a boyish charm and more depth than I actually thought. There was angst, drama, lies, secrets, and surprises that kept me engaged throughout.

I really enjoyed this fast paced, unique book. It was funny, different, and a
delightful romp of deception with a great twist or romance.

Thanks to Elizabeth Lee for providing me with a review copy for an honest review

Tammy's Rating and Review: 3.5 out of 5 Stars

Give Me Something was a quick fun read for me. I loved the concept of a female con artist and a male "mark.”

"Trickster, bamboozler, grifter. There were lots of names for what I did, but only one that everyone seemed to know -- con artist. That was me and I was good at it. So good, that I'd managed to live a pretty charmed life."

Lila was so much fun to read about! I loved how our heroine was not your typical bad girl and made no excuses for the things she did in life. Rae didn't want to be the poor white trash any longer and with the help of her best friend Nick (who she also happened to be head over heels in love with); she took from the rich "to give to the poor." That is until she met her newest "mark,” Tucker Kline.

"There were years of scamming the rich to give to the poor. By poor, I mean us.  If you think I had a Robin Hood complex, I didn't. I was selfish and greedy, just like Nick. People who say that money can't buy happiness, had obviously never had it."

Ladies wait till you meet Tucker Kline and his famous cheesy one-liners. I am usually a sucker for the "bad boy" and immediately gravitate towards them, but not this time around. The "good guy" won hands down. You can't help but smile and giggle when he is on the page. Tuck is wicked sweet and willing to change his philandering ways for Lila Rae. Lila and Tucker were wicked cute together. I loved their fun quirky chemistry.

"Where did you go?"
"I wanted to check the labels on your clothes."
"Hmm?"
“You know... To see if you were made in heaven."
"Oh, you're good."
"You have no idea," he grinned wickedly.

What happens when you involve two guys and one girl in a love triangle? Well drama of course! Lila has been in love with Nick for 5 years, and was waiting for him to return her feelings. Nick however, returned those feelings when he wanted Rae to do something for him. I liked Nick, I just didn't like him with Rae. I didn't feel the same connection between those two. For me it was all about what Nick could use her for. It seemed every time she wasn't following down the path he set for her, Nick would pull out the love card. He would feed her the lines she wanted to hear. One con working another. It irked me.  Enter Tucker. I loved what his character added to the mix. Adored the way he spices things up and makes Lila Rae question everything she knew.

“I was pretty sure I was in love with Nick, falling for Tucker, and lying to them both.”

I enjoyed Give Me Something. The story line and characters were both well developed. The characters were fun.  It had a few twists that I wasn't expecting. However, I couldn't give this a four star read like I wanted to. I don't know if it is because lately I have been reading some very intense books and the switch to something lighter threw me off, but for me something was just missing.

Thank you, Elizabeth Lee for the opportunity to review Give Me Something for my honest opinion.

Born and raised in the middle of a Midwestern cornfield (not literally, that would be weird), I’ve spent my entire life imagining stories. Stories where the right guy always gets the right girl, first kisses are as magical as they are on the big screen and anything is completely possible if you believe.

Although this journey began years ago, it recently took on a whole new life. After years of devouring hundreds of Romance, YA and New Adult novels, I had an epiphany... I should write a book. And I did it! My first YA/New Adult novel is out now!

If I’m not reading, writing, enjoying drinks with my amazing group of girlfriends or chasing around a sarcastically funny one-year-old, I’m probably watching television shows that were created for teenagers while my husband teases that I’m too old to watch them.
