When Cade Winslow and Merrick Sullivan find Elle hiding in the cabinet of a gun store, they know they can’t just walk away from the fragile woman with no memory of who she is or who tried to kill her. Merrick is training for the title shot in the heavyweight division as a mixed martial artist and can’t afford distractions, but neither can he turn his back on the woman who tugs at his heartstrings.

Elle feels safe with her two protectors, and the longer she spends with them, the more she realizes that she has no desire to remember her past. Not when it could compromise her future with Cade and Merrick.

Cade has his own set of concerns when it comes to Elle, and it quickly becomes clear to the two men that for the first time in their friendship, a woman is coming between them. But what if they just kept her there? Between them. Where she belongs.

"She's ours...And we're keeping her."

Cade and Merrick are best friends, business partners, and room mates. One night as they are called in to answer a call about a break in at one of their Security client's businesses, they find more than they bargained for. They find a woman, lost, alone, hiding, with no memory except that she knows she is in danger and was being hunted.
She finds two protectors, well they actually found her. And two friends gradually find themselves attracted to the same woman, and one woman is drawn to two men.

I adored both Cade and Merrick. Merrick is an MMA fighter training for the championship and part-time Security company owner. He is big, strong, intimidating, but has a heart of gold. He is so gentle, patient, and sweet with her. Cade runs their security company. He is equally alpha, but also has a soft side. They are both fiercely protective of her and want to keep her near at all times.

Elle(she remembers her name, but just snippets of other events), is fragile. She is fearful due to her past, feels beholden to these two men, unworthy, and considers herself to be a hot mess. She has a hard time seeing what they see in her.

"I don't know what happened to send you and Cade to me, but I thank God for you both every day."

"Ever consider that we thank him for giving us you?"~Merrick

The men have been long time best friends and close to brothers. Even though they both have feelings gradually developing, they also both want each other to be happy and they Elle to be happy and safe. So they come up with an unorthodox solution and embark on an unconventional relationship tentatively. They were so close and they shared well without jealousy really. And she loved them both equally. I loved their protectiveness, their patience, their tender treatment and acceptance of her. They put her needs first, but they also all had intense connections and feelings both emotionally and physically. You could feel their strong need to keep her close, keep her safe, and to keep her for themselves. They were actually a very functional threesome with most of the drama not coming from the interpersonal relationships or jealousy, but mostly coming from Elle's insecurities, fear, and outside influences.  She has danger in her past and they have danger in their present that adds suspense, drama, and tension. The fact that we just get little glimpses into her past intermittently just as she does adds mystery and keeps you wondering.

"I want her to be happy. I want to make her happy. Hell, I want us to make her happy."~Cade

It was sweet, suspenseful, and intriguing. It had well developed characters that shared deep bonds of friendship, loyalty, and love. It had a lot of different plot elements with the MMA fighter, security company, menage, mystery, and suspense. It had interesting side characters like Cade's Dad Charlie, Dallas(their physician friend), Dakota(Merrick's trainer) and his wife Cathy. They added some humor and they were also a tight crew of love and support.

Even as we saw some things progress and  resolve, the past cannot just be ignored and stay buried. So there is more coming for this trio. I am looking forward to the next installment and continuation of their story in Always Mine (book 2) and Forever Ours (book 3).

Thanks to Maya Banks, Sullivan and Partners, and netgalley for providing an arc copy in exchange for an honest review. Quotes are from arc version and are subject to change in the final draft.

My name is Maya Banks and I live in Texas with my husband and three children and our assortment of pets. I’m more of a cat person, but my daughter became convinced she NEEDED a dog. So convinced in fact that it became her mission to convince her father and me. She prepared a two page handwritten proposal that detailed WHY she needed a dog, and well, after I sent her to her father (I knew he wouldn’t tell her no) we embarked on the search for the perfect dog. The journey that was two hours away and that I got pulled over for speeding while I was on the phone with my agent who had an offer from a publisher for one of my books… The officer wasn’t impressed. He wrote me a ticket anyway. Thus, I now tell my daughter that her dog turned into one very expensive concession! But isn’t he cute?
When I’m not writing, I love to hunt and fish with my family. We all love the outdoors and go on family hunting trips every year. We also love to travel. One of our more recent trips was to Scotland, which was every bit as comical as National Lampoon’s European Vacation. You know the part about “Look kids, Big Ben, Parliament” as they went round and round the roundabouts? Yeah, that was us, only we couldn’t even get out of the airport in Glasgow without hitting three of those suckers.
Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of a writing career is getting to meet so many wonderful readers. There’s nothing better than dishing books with someone who loves the romance genre as much as I do. Romance readers are passionate and vocal. We love our books, love our happily ever afters, and we love to spend time talking to others about our favorites. THIS is why I love my job so much, and I’m so grateful to readers who gave ME a chance when I began my career. So thank you.
