DEE
I’ve always been good at wearing masks. Not letting anyone see the real me. I’m content being the happy-go-lucky best friend. The strong willed boss. The independent woman who doesn’t need a man.

But the truth is I’m just as broken as the rest of you. I’m terrified that all it will take is one person to make all my carefully constructed walls crumble into fine dust. So I guard my heart with everything I have. Determined to never let anyone get close enough to hurt me again.

All is perfect until HE walks into my life. No… he doesn’t just walk. He struts his good-looking, sex-oozing self right into my space and demands that I see HIM. Making me want what I know I can’t have.

So I did the only thing I know how to do.
I run.
But he just won’t let me go.

BECK
The second I see her, I know she will be mine. I see past the gorgeous smiles and heart-stopping laughter. I see HER. She doesn’t want me to know her secrets or the past that haunts her, but I make it my mission to find out.

To make her mine.

She can run all she wants, but it will never be far enough to stop me from coming after her.
She’s it for me and she knows it.
She’s just too scared to admit it.

We have been following Dee and Beck and their circling around each other since Axel and  Cage. Now it is their full story from the beginning. And we get to see behind Dee's facade to see what was holding her back.

Dee Roberts has walls up, big tall nearly indestructible ones. All the men in her life have proved to her that you can't trust them so she does not plan to. She has wonderful best friends, Greg and Izzy. And inadvertantly through them, she meets Beck. He is one of Greg's security team. He is charming,  hot, sexy, flirty, and protective. Their chemistry is off the charts and is mighty powerful when unleashed.

He knows Dee is all about no commitments, but that does not mean he is not going to push. They're on again and off again. We have watched her run, avoid, and push him away over time. Just when it seems that Dee is willing to try, something brings the past crashing down around her. But now we learn why she acts the way she does. What fears and insecurities she has that keeps her from allowing herself  happiness and love, and the demons that threaten to destroy her.  She wears a mask for those around her including her best friends, but only Beck can truly see the real her and her pain. And sometimes it is all too much for her. But as much as she needs him, she pushes him away.

I am Denise Ann Roberts. Strong, proud, and independent. A loyal friend, godmother, and I radiate fucking happiness so the at people will never see how lonely I really am.

John Beckett....Beck...Oh My. He is the hottest, swooniest Corps Security man so far. He is all alpha and protective,  but is also not afraid to be vulnerable and share his feelings. His determination to win Dee over even when she treated him horribly made my heart sigh. He knew what she needed even when she didn't or she resisted. She put him through so much, but he held faith that one day she would realize how much he cared and finally let him in. My heart broke for him at times.

Never, not once, in my thirty-two years have I craved a woman the way I crave Denise Roberts. She gets under my skin like no other.

These two have so many struggles and so much pain. Healing, acceptance, and opening up is not an easy process. And during it all, a new danger lurks threatening Dee and those around her.  Dee has to decide whether to give up and let the darkness win, or find the will to fight to get herself back.

"When you open yourself up to me completely...Baby, you won't even believe how good it's going to be."

There is danger, mystery, suspense, heartbreak romance, steam, humor, emotion,  and tragedy. Dee and Beck's journey has really been going on for three books so I was attached to both of them and invested in them. There are surprising secrets and plots twists scattered throughout the book. It had me tense through the whole book and at times I was literally shouting NOOOOOOOOO at my kindle! This one grabbed my heart and punched me in the gut several times. I found myself emotional and tearing up. There are situations that have to be faced and some things that they hoped they would  never have to deal with. And they all have to handle the aftermath as well.

And not only do we see the truth behind Dee and Beck's story, but we also get more glimpses into Maddox, Emmy, and Cooper. And there are additions of some other intriguing characters Chelci, Ash, and David. We also got to visit with Axel, Izzy, Greg, Melissa, and Cohen from the first two books. I love this series and these characters. I think in this one, it shows even more how strong these men are bonded and how much they care for the other guys and their mates. They are truly a family. I cannot wait for the next couple of books Cooper and Locke. She has set them both up in this one. I am particularly excited about Maddox Locke and Emmy. There is a lot more to learn about Maddox and I hope to see him finally decide that he really wants to win the girl.

John Beckett knew from the beginning that Dee was it for him. But even he has no idea just how deep her hurt runs, or how much she has to overcome before she will let him in. He has watched Dee go through the motions of life, faking happiness to everyone around her. Everyone but him. I love that he sees past the mask she puts up and really wants her to be happy, no matter what that means or what it takes. He just made me want to sigh. Often. Some of the twists that the story takes as they figure out their way made me ache right along with the characters, and alternately cheer when things finally started coming together. And yes, this one made me bawl. At least a couple times. Cried like a baby.

Beck starts with some overlap from Axel to see all those scenes we knew must have been happening while Axel and Izzy were figuring their stuff out, but didn't get to because it was Beck and Dee. The overlap wasn't a regurgitated telling of the story, it was completely fresh, everything that was going on the background during that time. As was hinted in Axel, Dee runs every time Beck tries to advance their relationship into anything serious.

I think this is my favorite Corps Security novel yet. Dee's running without explanation was hard to take, but because that part of her personality had been set up in Axel, I was able to look past it to the reasons she was so committed to keeping herself out of a serious relationship. And even when I thought I knew why she was so scared of letting Beck in, I was surprised to find there was more that she was hiding.

There are plenty of peeks throughout of the side characters we all know and love from previous books and glimpses of the directions their stories have taken after the focus is off them, in the case of Axel and Cage, and where their stories might go, in the case of the other men. The action throughout the book, both in the bedroom and out, kept me turning the pages for more steam and waiting for that other shoe to drop.

I love John Beckett, and everything about this book. And it gets 5 huge stars from me.

Fate hasn’t always been friends with Isabelle West. In fact, fate has been a downright bitch.

Isabelle has learned the hard way how hard life can be when fate isn’t by your side. It can hand you dreams on silver platters, but it can snatch them right back and hand you nightmares. One thing Isabelle knew for sure fate was consistent with was taking away everything she ever loved.

For the last two years Isabelle has been slowly clearing the clouds of her past. Happiness is finally on the horizon. She has a thriving business, great friends, and her life back. All she has to do is jump over the last hurdle…her ex-husband.

When problems start causing her to fear her new life, and memories that are better left forgotten start rushing to the surface the last thing she needs is a ghost from her past to come knocking on her door.

Axel never thought he would look into the eyes of Isabelle West again, and he wasn’t sure he wanted to now. He’s carried his anger for so long he isn’t sure he can just turn it off, but when he is faced with protecting her and an unexpected desire to have her again, life gets a little more complicated.

How will Axel and Isabelle deal when all their cards are put on the table and everything they thought was true blows up in their faces?

Harper lives in small town Georgia just a short drive from her hometown of Peachtree City. She (and her 3 daughters) enjoy ruling the house they dubbed 'Estrogen Ocean', much to her husbands chagrin. Harper has a borderline unhealthy obsession with books; you can almost ALWAYS find her with her eReader attached. She enjoys bad reality TV and cheesy romantic flicks. Her favorite kind of hero--the super alpha kind!
Harper started using writing as a way to unwind when the house went to sleep at night; and with a house full of crazy it was the perfect way to just relax. It didn't take long before a head full of very demanding alphas would stop at nothing to have their story told.
