#1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines continues the unforgettable story of Grant Carter, the irrestible playboy who first captured readers’ hearts in Fallen Too Far.

The second installment in a never before published New Adult duet by #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines, ONE MORE CHANCE  is the follow up to the smash hit TAKE A CHANCE, and concludes the story of Grant Carter, a fan favorite character, and Harlow.

She was it. His one. His only. Then he made the mistake of letting her go.

After fighting his way into Harlow Manning’s heart—and revealing a side of himself no one had ever seen before—Grant Carter destroyed his own heart by giving in to his greatest fears and doubts. Months later, he’s stuck in a miserable routine. Work relentlessly. Beg his best friend Rush for news about Harlow. Avoid all other friends. Leave nightly voicemails for Harlow, pleading with her to come back to Rosemary Beach. Fall asleep alone. Repeat.

Miles away, on her brother’s Texas ranch, Harlow can’t bring herself to listen to Grant’s voicemails. Though she wants to be with him, and knows he regrets letting her go, she doesn’t know if she can trust him. When he discovered the truth behind her sheltered upbringing, it shattered their relationship, but the secret she carries now has far greater consequences. Can she risk giving Grant one more chance, or will the gamble ultimately destroy her?

With her signature passionate characters and sizzling connections, Abbi Glines debuts another steamy, page-turning novel that will leave readers desperate for more.

I had a love/hate relationship with Grant and Harlow's first book Take A Chance. I had such high expectations for Grant and I was really disappointed in Grant's behavior for the first half of their story. But then he won me over. And Harlow was a shy, quiet heroine and sometimes I did not quite feel their connection. But by the end of Take A Chance, I was rooting for them and invested in them. And then the bomb dropped and Grant disappointed me again.

So now Grant is in need of one more chance. He totally screwed up, hurt Harlow, and sent her running. But now he is lost, depressed, and desperate to find her.  My heart broke for him and his pain and guilt. He knew he was wrong and he knew he had himself to blame for the situation so the thing he feared most...losing her...became a self fulfilling prophecy and very real to him.

And  as much as Harlow hurts and she misses him, she has reasons for hiding and does not think he can truly deal with her situation. She is determined to make her own choices and stand by them no matter who tries to convince her otherwise.  I will admit that in the beginning of the book I was frustrated with her, but at the same time understood her motivation. She really made Grant sweat.

When everything is finally laid out, they have more challenges to face than Grant ever expected. And their choices and wishes sometimes directly conflict.

This is the Grant we know and love. The one that cares deep, will fight for those he loves, and stand by their side. He is passionate, loving, and over protective. But he is also so scared of loss that he can barely breathe at times. He is not the easy-going, funny Grant anymore. This is a man on a mission to get the future he wants and needs.

Harlow may have a physical weakness, but she is tough as nails. She has really shown personal growth.  She will not let anyone stand in the way of what she wants. She is caring, nurturing, sweet, and beautiful inside and out. She wants to live her life to the fullest and experience all she can.

This book is more of a partnership for this couple even when their opinions differ. Grant knows what is important to him and what he stands to lose. So he will do everything he can in order to keep that from happening. But no matter how strong he tries to be, the situation is really out of his control.

This one sucked me right in. It was emotional, heartfelt, and full of tension. I really loved Grant and Harlow together in this one. I could feel their connection and devotion this time. I bought them as a couple. There is all kinds of drama, stress, pain, and anger. This book  felt more like part of this series than the last one. It felt truer to the characters and was more emotionally gripping and powerful. It had me gasping and holding my breath a few times, swooning, anxious,  and tearing up.  It was told in both Harlow and Grant's point of view and also had several chapters narrated by side characters. This was an inspirational  story of taking a chance, hope, and fighting for life and love.

There were more teasers for upcoming stories for Bethy and Tripp and their first book You Were Mine should be next up in the Rosemary Beach series. They obviously have a lot of history and pain to deal with. And Harlow's brother Mase is also expected to have his story told starting with When I'm Gone.  He and his cousin Major were featured quite a bit in this one and I really enjoyed both of them. Mase is the ultimate protective big brother, and Major is funny and flirty. And yes, the toxic half-sister, Nan is part of this book too. We saw some situations with side characters continuing to be problematic while we also saw some surprising growth in other characters.

Of the men in Rosemary Beach, Grant has long been one of my favorites. At the end of Take a Chance, I was so mad at him. While I thought he would figure out his feelings for Harlow easily and quickly reach his happily ever after, he proved me wrong in a major way. This time I started reading with my fingers crossed that he would finally make the effort to prove me right and be the man who deserved to have Harlow.

“That moment when you realize you’ve completely f***ed up your life...yeah, I know that moment. All too well.”

Not even a tenth of the way into this book, I was already choking back tears. Thankfully it was looking like maybe this was going to be everything I hoped for and more than I could have imagined.

Losing Jace marked Grant in a major way and led him to make the grievous error that led to Harlow walking out of his door at the end of Take a Chance. And while he never wants to lose another person close to him, he has to face those fears in a big way with Harlow. This is his chance to make everything up to her.

“You’re my one. You’re it. This is my epic love, and I can’t lose that.”

Grant had quite a fight on his hands from quiet Harlow. Harlow showed a conviction we hadn’t seen from her before and her strength, while heartbreaking for Grant (and Kiro), was amazing.

Everyone had to face fears and find courage and strength they didn’t know they had. Grant, Harlow, Kiro, Nan, Mace and all their friends.

And Nan? I have never been a Nan-fan. But she shocked me in the best possible way in this book. One action was all it took. And now? I think I might actually hope for her to get a book someday -- to find a man who looks at her and sees beyond the hardened exterior to the hurt girl underneath. Unless she forgets this ever happens and goes back to her old self. I guess I’ll have to withhold that judgement until later.

I liked Take A Chance well enough, but One More Chance? I loved. I spent much of the book hoping for one outcome while thinking another outcome was more likely. Even as I knew the end was near, I wasn’t sure which way this book would go.

From #1
New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines comes the story of Grant, the sexy playboy who first captured readers hearts in Fallen Too Far

When Harlow Manning's rocker father goes on tour, he sends her to Rosemary Beach, Florida, to live with her half-sister, Nan. The problem: Nan despises her. Harlow has to keep her head down if she wants to get through the next nine months, which seems easy enough. Until gorgeous Grant Carter walks out of Nan's room in nothing but his boxer briefs.

Grant made a huge mistake getting involved with a girl with venom in her veins. He'd known about Nan's reputation, but still he couldn't resist her. Nothing makes him regret the fling more than meeting Harlow, who sends his pulse racing. Yet Harlow wants nothing to do with a guy who could fall for her wicked half-sister; even if there are no strings between Grant and Nan.

Grant is desperate to redeem himself in Harlow's eyes, but did he ruin his chances before he even met her?
