A sexy small town romance from New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Jessie Evans

This ride is going to last a lot longer than eight seconds...

Female professional bull rider, Reece Hearst, graduated from the school of hard knocks. With honors. Because life is like bull riding--when it sends you to the dirt, you do whatever it takes to get on your feet, even if you have to crawl. Like when officials stripped her of her rodeo queen title on the basis of vicious gossip years ago and not even her father would believe her side of the story. Reece could have stayed in the dust, wallowing. Instead, she fixed Lonesome Point in her rearview, joined the pro circuit, and never looked back. But now a serious injury threatens to end her career and she's back in Lonesome Point, living next door to the family that once made her life a living hell.

After multiple tours of duty in Afghanistan and his father's death, all Grayson Parker wants is to get his family's cattle business back in the black and live a quiet life. But the return of Reece Hearst opens old wounds, throwing his ordered world into chaos. Grayson was serving overseas when Reece was a teenager and can't believe the girl he once knew has grown into a heartbreaker as hardened as she is beautiful.

Grayson finds a kindred spirit in wounded Reece and soon longs to be the man to show her that there is life after pain and loss. But can two people as damaged as Reece and Grayson find their way to happily ever after? Or will the scars on their hearts forever keep them apart?

"Because everyone needs rescuing...At least every once in a while."

Pro bull rider, Reece Hearst is back in Lonesome Point recovering from an injury twelve years after leaving it in her dust. But she does not want to be there or face her demons.

A chance meeting with a sexy stranger changes her first night impressions. But too much alcohol leads to a morning of questions and she wakes up in a house she never wanted to be in again.  Now she is forced to deal with the memories that sent her running in the first place.

Grayson Parker is damaged from his own past but still can recognize a connection and something special. He has seen his share of trauma after serving in the military and has just returned to his family ranch. Their past history is intertwined in a way that complicates any interactions between them. But when she is in need of help, he insists on stepping in. He is sweet, attentive, protective, charismatic, and funny. He is a good guy with strong convictions. And she really fascinates him even as she is pushing him away.

But when he looked into Reece Hearst's eyes the last thing he felt was anything casual. She challenged him, intrigued him, and set his blood on fire.

Reece is prickly, guarded, feisty, strong willed, impulsive and pushes him away. She is also dealing with medical issues and an uncertain future. She does not want a Knight in Shining Armor and prefers to be self sufficient. She does not trust and has a negative outlook on life and harbors unresolved anger.

She wasn't looking for Happily Ever After and knew better than to start believing in fairy tales.

Grayson is a protector and  he cannot seem to help himself from forcing his way into her life. They are both kind of lost souls newly returned home with family dynamics issues and have walls up. Neither are looking for a relationship, connection, or love or thought that it was possible. Sometimes you need a friend and find them in the most unlikely places. And sometimes friends end up wanting other benefits. And then an attachment grows that you are not expecting.

She'd made it clear a hero on a white horse was the last thing she wanted, but sometimes what we want and what we need are two different things.

Maybe love was real and maybe sometimes it blew in like a hurricane flattening all your preconceived notions in its path.

I enjoyed their sarcastic banter and flirting as well as seeing under their layers. They both had emotional baggage, stresses, and potential threats to their happiness. She especially really needed to be able to let go and forgive before she could move on. She had held onto anger for too long. So they needed to break down walls in order to get closer, deal with the fact she does not plan to stay in Lonesome Point, and handle the external stress and conflicts swirling around them...all while she is recovering from a serious injury and there are other dangerous elements at play in the background.

Grayson and Reece might be my fave couple and story from this series. They both had scars and had such a twisted complicated past to overcome. It was told in both points of view and had multiple layers to the story. This was humorous, flirty, sexy, suspenseful story of friendship, love, hope, and healing. We got a bit more with Reece's younger sister Tulsi and their parents (Diamonds and Dust). We met Grayson's sister Layla who is having her own issues and revisited with Bubba's brother Cole Lawson we first met in Saddles and Sin. Their story will continue in Chaps and Chance.

This series has fast become one of those that I can’t wait to grab the next installments in the series, and each book just keeps getting better than the last!

Glitter and Grit is a great mix of cowboy (or bull rider), a bit of suspense, small town setting, and a military connection.

Reece Hearst hasn’t been home since she left town in a rush twelve years before. And while she isn't looking forward to being laid low with an injury, she at least can avoid the hurts of her past.

Grayson Parker is back in his father's house after years away in the Air Force to help his sister get back on her feet and to try to save the family ranch.

At their first meeting they dont know who the other is, but the sparks and attraction is enough to put aside the past to live in the present.

Reece is such an independent spirit, she doesn't lean on people for anything. It was fun to watch her stand on her own and reach that point with her help that she no longer had a choice but to take the help offered her.

This book was filled with great, fast built chemistry. Both Reece and Grayson become lighter, freer versions of themselves as they let each other in. I loved watching the back and forth, the outside forces working against them and the internal struggles each faced.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Jessie Evans, gave up a career as an international woman of mystery to write the sexy, contemporary Southern romances she loves to read.

She's married to the man of her dreams, and together they're raising a few adorable, mischievous children in a cottage in the jungle. She grew up in rural Arkansas, spending summers running wild, being chewed by chiggers, and now appreciates her home in a chigger-free part of the world even more.

When she's not writing, Jessie enjoys playing her dulcimer (badly), sewing the worlds ugliest quilts to give to her friends, going for bike rides with her house full of boys, and drifting in and out on the waves, feeling thankful for sun, surf, and lovely people to share them with.
